The dad needs to put his foot down. He's way too soft on these kids, so they know they can do whatever they want and Dad won't care. Hell, he was even encouraging them to fight and wrestle.

Listening is important, not just in the family, or in the home, but also in the greater community and online. Problems arise, when children have learnt good communication skills while others haven't. Definitely the reinforcement is valuable, particularly when you are not being listened to.
