    I like this video! It's very straight forward and makes it look like someone like me might actually be able to do this! (I just watched another video for this and they took the entire door panel off!) But you give me confidence; I just hope I can do it successfully!

    • @NKYDIY
      @NKYDIY  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's one of my goals, to explain it well enough that anyone can do it themselves. I'm glad I gave you confidence, how did it go?

    • @jennydrumm7223
      @jennydrumm7223 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly, I realized that the mirrors on my truck are power mirrors, so I'm afraid I might have to do the whole "taking off the door panel" thing. Actually, the fold-in/fold-out hasn't worked in the 2 years I've had the truck, and it'd be nice to have that work, but I sure do like the electronic adjusting feature. Anyway, I'd love it if I'm wrong and don't have to do the more complicated process but I have little hope.

      Got mine loose, but the wires do not just plug in, near as I can tell. Looks like they disappear behind the door panel. :( Any ideas??

    • @MagaRickn

      After reading some comments below, appears that many Chevys don't have the mirror connector in that nice handy place like yours. So you will have to take the door panel off. :( Or, I guess you could do a bunch of splicing. ;) ;)

    I think in this video he’s removed the mirrors before, cause my mirror cables are attached to the door w other small clips. So unless you’ve messed w it before and have your clip right there like he does, you’re gonna have to remove the entire door panel to get to the clip for the mirrors. Definitely a lot more tedious.

    Hey I replaced today on driver side after storm damage. At AutoZone they only had one with heated mirror also. Saw mirror was cracked so I’m waiting another. My question is since it’s heated(of cost a little more) should the heated aspect of it work with my 2001 1500? Connection fit and motor worked. Original was not heated

    So I have a 2016 chevy Silverado, and I got some newer mirrors, my question:
    Do I have to remove the door panels to remove, and replace the mirror?
    (I got some aftermarket ones that are compatible with my truck, features and all, and it comes with everything needed the install, the long screws, the electrical wire, etc.

    • @NKYDIY
      @NKYDIY  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      After you take of the triangle plastic part are you able to disconnect the wiring or does the wire lead down into the door with no place to easily disconnect?

    • @nicolel9229
      @nicolel9229 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The newer they get, the more specialized and unnecessarily difficult they become to replace. Or, its inside the door panel.
