Did my passenger side mirror today. Took about 30 to 35 minutes. I did not completely remove the door panel or the window trim. I let the panel rest on a chair while I changed the mirror, and only lifted the window trim enough to be out of the way. I do this stuff in Aviation. Advice: only remove what you need to in order to reach what you need to.
Did mine exactly as the video, but added wiping weather seals with warm soapy water to get rid of streaking when adjusting my window. Bought a trim tool kit and extractor so I would have all the tools in the video. This is my first time ever doing this and I did it in less than an hour with the video for guidance. The good old days of pre 2014 when it was just a triangle panel that popped off and remove the 3 bolts and the mirrors loose. Of course they'd make it now to take apart half the truck interior.
Help!!! Dude, I followed your steps and really appreciate the video, but in the process, when I got my door panel loose it slipped from my hands and broke the white clip that holds my lock riser bar in place. It attaches to the door at the bottom of that locking bar (not sure of its actual name but when I say “bar” I’m referring to the long bar that rises and lowers through the hole in the door panel that you push down on to manually lock your door) Can you tell me what that part is called or a part number? My mirror works great now but I have no lock bar sticking up through the hole in the panel. ??? Any help would be appreciated!
I have a 2017 Silverado someone waffled my mirror, I'm going to replace it. Out of curiosity does anyone know if I'm able to put heated mirrors with turn signals in without re wiring the whole truck? I currently just have basic power mirrors

I just changed mine and didn’t have to remove the door panels

Mans really took the entire door panel off 😂😂. Got mine off by barley peeling back the plastic piece without damaging it

My truck already has cables in those spaces, should they be cut or what should be done in those cases?
Do I have to change anything if my truck didn’t come with them ?

Completely unnecessary to remove the wood trim and 7 screws. That has nothing to do with removing the door panel.
