yes it is really embarassing that some new fans think there can be only one main dancer in a group smh when in fact there are a lot of groups with more than one main dancer also it is really dumb to argue or compare when main dancers of bts are selected as both hobi and jimin from debut
Jimin and Jhope have different styles of dancing. Jimin's dancing is more contemporary and flowy with precision which you can see in Jimin's solo masterpieces Filter, Serendipity, etc whereas Jhope's dance falls more in the hip hope dance category with explosive energy which you can see in his sensational Chicken Noodle Soup. Some dancers can create choreos, some can execute choreos, and some can do both. You can't just judge a dancer based on if he can or not create choreos. That's the job of the choreographer, just like how in singing, the singer only executes the final piece put together by the lyricists, producers, etc. In my opinion, Jimin and Jhope deserve to be the main dancers of the group.
Agreed 100% you cant compare two completely different styles of dance, jimin has man years of experience in ballet and contemporary dance and jhope has many years of experience in street and hiphop dancing theyre both excellent dancers in their respective fields
Jimin has his own style and he is worthy of the title given to him as main dancer. It's sad to say he's not there, cause a lot of people only wish to have that type of body movement as Jhope and Jimin. Dancers from around the world have said that both of them have their own style when it comes to dance.
Exactly. Both of their skills can't be compared to the other as they both have different dancing styles. J-hope is more of the hip-hop dancer and Jimin the ballet, contemporary dancer and they both do well in their respective styles. Personally, I do think that Hobi is better but the gap between the two is really small. People need to give Jimin credit where it is due because when that man dances, HE DANCES!
for once i actually agree with netizens on mina, not saying she is a bad dancer but like i think her moves can be stiff and soft. and as for xiaoting excuse me????????? xiaoting is known for her good dancing since gp999. open ur eyes people!!!!!!!!
Mina is not an idol dancer that’s why. She’s good at contemporary but none of Twice’s dances have that. Plus she’s definitely a perfectionist. Momo looks like she has fun with the dancing whereas Mina feels like she’s hyper analyzing her moves. Maybe bc of her anxiety issues leading to her performance skills being affected?
@@lunarialoonatic yeahh u have a point!!! Maybe her anxiety is getting on her way... I also observed that she overcalculates her moves in their choreographies... But other members considers her a really good dancer together with momo...
I mean in Lesserafim there isn't any official positions so Chaewon, Yunjin and Kazuha are my dancing line but this could change in the future while they all improve and develop certain skills, either way I think the group overall has a good performing skills ^^
I find it funny cuz people always say that Jimin isn’t a great dancer just cuz he learned contemporary dance in his early without knowing that he literally learned popping as well, he literally used to participate in dancing battles which tend to be very competitive, and definitely think Jimin and Jhope are the main dancers for a reason and that is talent
I though jimin was lead dancer when he told he isn't the main but is definitely in a dance line in knowing bros. I think it's not officially given to him but fandom takes both of them as main 🤔
@@checkmateyourhighness1047 no jimin and hobi both are main dance if I remember correctly that was about the best dancer not main dancers ( they always refer hobi as the best dancer) but both jm and hobi share main dance position and jk and tae are lead dancers thus forming the dance line of bts
@@checkmateyourhighness1047 since debut, he’s been called main dancer (along with Jhope) by broadcasters, members, the company and even the government (when they received a medal from the President and were announced individually by their roles). The only people who downgrade his role are misinformed fans, antis, and humble jimin himself 💜
Momo is great dancer Literally top 3 in k-pop If she doesn't deserve the main dancer place than who can 🙄 And jihyo is vocal queen she doing great in what she can do
Mina is the fastest learner for choreography in Twice. She always gets it and learn it faster than the others. She has her own grace and style. She deserves her title I'm not sure who gave the right to say she does not but try being on her shoes and if you make it then maybe then you'll have the right.
@@yashasvisoni5416 I know but at the beginning she was not as good as she is now. If you have been a fan since debut then you should know how she was given the title also even Jihyo was not complaining what's the deal? These were just mere titles that even them being together for 7 years don't even care anymore but making it seems it's a big deal for outsider's like us is really uncalled for.
Xiaoting deserves to be a main dancer she never lacks in no performances and and ISAC she was flawless whoever said that she shouldn’t be a main dancer needs to open up there eyes and ACTUALLY WATCH THERE PERFORMANCES like queendom and isac she is a very talented lady!
Jimin learned popping during school, top student in contemporary, debuted with hiphop concept with bts and working so hard on every performances in bts. He deserves the title of main dancer
@@Okokoklalala222 hobi too is main dancer along with Jimin....they were given those positions from the beginning itself... people forget that jimin is also a main dancer and think he is lead dancer.... jungkook is the lead dancer
@@Okokoklalala222 two ppl can't be main dancers or what ? Jimin is actually more versatile than Hobi if I'm being honest. He is technically trained in modern dance & contemporary. And he also learnt hiphop during middle school. There's videos of him doing freestyle battles & you can see how good he was & he is still good. And mind you contemporary & hiphop are like polar opposite in dance styles. Jhope has no experience in contemporary what so ever. He is strictly street style lock pop & other relatively closer styles like house or krump. But Jimin has done Krump as well. Hobi is slightly better in popping, his pops are stronger & slightly better isolation but there isn't some crazy amount of difference. If I had to randomly score them, I wud say Hobi gets a 9/10 for his street style. Jimin gets a 8/10. But I hve score them for modern dance I wud say, Jimin gets a 9/10 & Hobi I wud say 6/10 even though we hve barely seen him do any modern except some modern inspired moves here & there like black swan. Freestyle I wud say Hoseok is better but they can both freestyle which none of the other BTS members can Hobi is inherently a better battle dancer. But if we look back at BTS's performances especially throughout award shows, Jimin has stood out the most. Also Hoseok is the dance leader which most people don't fully even understand as a title. He does what essentially songdeuk does but son can't be there all the time especially once the group is on tour on stage or practicing for 14-15 hours. He is essentially a performance director who is supposed to see that the whole group is organized for the choreography & he has to make adjustments for spacing etc. But would one say Son songdeuk is a better dancer ? No coz he barely performs or dances & we haven't seen him excute a routine himself.
@@DEE-305 you all literally talking as if hobi doesn’t deserve to be have title- I didn’t asked for any explanation everyone in comments are like yes jimin should be this and that and etc etc why no one is saying they have got what they deserve and are best at? Okay jimin might be good but can we stop comparing cause it’s company who has decided their position and must have done for some good reason.
Well we can't just say that Kazuha is the main dancer of the group bc there's no official position in Le sserafim. (Same for most other 4th gen groups) I don't really think we need to judge on everything that isn't even official
Edit: This was a bad take I was pretty much just wrong Ranking idols in idol dancing versus overall dancing makes twice come out in two completely different rankings, and also Mina has the second best or best technique within twice. She also learns choreography the fastest by the way
@@ceemaaaa Edit: This was a bad take I was pretty much just wrong idol dancing is a different category of dance compared to jazz, ballet, hip-hop, etc, and when you take into account all the different categories of dancing, you can look at how a person may fall flat in one category, but excel in the other. For example, Lia from Itzy is not an amazing Idol dancer, but she does surprisingly well with contemporary performance, so it adds to her overall dance ability.
@@ceemaaaa Edit: This was a bad take I was pretty much just wrong I think I phrased my comment pretty weirdly because it wasn’t quite what I was trying to say, but I’m saying that some idols are able to show their strength as dancers better outside of the specific genre. Mina (and others) is a decent dancer outside of idol dancing. Mina lacks when it comes to power in her moves, and it’s very easy to see with songs like I can’t stop me and more and more, but her precision is seen well in songs like fancy and yes or yes. Those were just two aspects of her dancing but they show my point pretty well.
@@4mation81 pickup doesn't make you a good dancer it's correlation not causation. and idol dancing versus overall dancing really don't lead to very different rankings. mina isn't a particularly strong ballet dancer either (stiff and tense, does not lengthen her extensions, extremely poor turnout just to name a few issues). the most that would happen would be that chaeyoung would be bumped up quite a bit (she's much better at open style than twice choreography) and mina would probably be 3rd instead of 4th or 5th. everyone else would stay in the same spot (with momo/jihyo 1st/2nd being variable)
As a once i think mina is the third best dancer because jihyo personally is a bit better but that doesn't mean that she is not a good dancer. I think she is an amazing dancer
If jihyo is a better dancer then I guess Sana is the sec best dancer cuz Sana and the j line are way better dancers than jihyo it’s only cuz jihyo has better facial expressions and stage presence
Jimin has his ways of making the choreography look beautiful and elegant in his own style even if it’s not his original choreo while Hobi really is talented in making a choreography his style is edgy and rough but in a cool way i don’t care who gets to be the main dancer of BTS but all of them are talented in their own ways💜 this is based on my own opinion
I want to say that ballet is actually very useful to learn other genres of dance, of course I'm not saying that doing ballet immediately makes you a main dancer material but I definitely think it helps you in terms of rhythm and flexibility while having very nice body lines.
J-Hope and Jimin are both the main dancers and deserve their positions as the main dancers of the ground. I'm a J-hope biased so my focus is 90% of the time on j-hope, I cannot get enough of his dance but it'd be stupid to say that Jimin doesn't deserve to be the main dancer. They both have unique styles and some people prefer a certain style over the other. As long as media articles are concerned, it's all about popularity.
xiaoting and kazuha are without a doubt main dancers, they are ones of the few dancers in kpop to be recognized by profesionalls and won many domestic and internation awards, and keep in mind both didn't train in idol dance until just recently and they're already killing it. it's harder than you think to switch between genres and they're doing it effortlessly. i have a feeling they will be the best dancers of 4th gen
I don’t agree about Kazuha, her movements are precise yet she has good rhythm and isn’t stiff -she’s definitely worthy of the title of main dancer. Also beyond shocked people didn’t think Xioating was worthy of main dancer… that’s bonkers
I never saw any debate related to jimin and jhope also all army's know that both of them are best in their own way and jimin obviously deserves this title as much as jhope 💜 🤧 💜

Jimin and jhope are both main dancers and both deserve the title, they just have different styles of dancing plus jimin can do more type of dances than jhope and don't you think there's a reason why he was chosen as a main and why he is recognised as the top.People shouldn't compare them, they both deserve it .
Jimin does deserve to be the main dancer of BTS because he is not only extremely flexible but also was a top dancer in his class in his hometown of Busan. He also has more advance dancing skills
How can someone deserve to be main dancer when he debuted as a main dancer and lead vocalist after their debut he was rank among the top dancer that’s why is advices to do research among the boys watch original clips from bangatv and not edited clips
I gotta say though I love both Hobi & Jimin but I've always been super memorized by Jimin's dancing the most.. My eyes automatically go to him & usually stay him a lot of the time. I guess I just like his style more.
i think rather than them being weak dancers what it mostly is , is just that they are very well trained in one style but the group doesn't do songs that would match that choreography, if they did songs that would require those types of dance styles these main dancers would do extremely well.
I guess i kinda agree with mina i mean she definitely deserves a dance position but main dancer? No . Before i thought that the second best dancer of twice is jihyo but i was kinda suprised to know thats its mina. I like her dance she have a very good control but i feel like for some reason jihyo is more deserving
Mina was by far the best dancer in Sixteen, and is still the best contemporary dancer in Twice although it doesn't mean much since they'll never get that type of choreo. Momo was strong with hip hop technique by then but Jihyo developed her dance skills later on.
I was shocked to know that Mina was in the dancer line, I thought Jihyo was a main dancer since I heard there was 2 main dancer, then I would look at some performances and look at Mina. But she barely caught my attention.
About Xiaoting’s part, yes I do believe that she does have the skills to be a main dancer if she continues improving. However, she is actually a lead dancer in Kep1er as confirmed in a Dispatch article.
I wish Kpop had that contemporary choreography like some Jpop groups coz only then will these people realize that main dancers like Mina, Kazuha, Xiaoting (if she's really a main dancer in Kep1er) are needed in an idol group. That they're not in a group for decoration. They're called main dancers for a reason. Also, I rarely see idols who are equally good in modern types & classical types of choreography. In fact, I have only seen one and that is Techi (former center of Keyakizaka46) of Jpop. If you don't believe me, it's okay, see it for yourself with these performances (available here in yt): classical = search "Kuroi Hitsuji MV Keyakizaka46" modern = search "Keyakizaka46 - Glass wo Ware! at Keyaki Republic 2018" modern, classical, & tribal = search "dance no riyuu" take note, she's the center girl/protagonist in the MV
@@skarbuskreska it's not about how old a dance style is, ballet is the main if not the only foundation for most forms of dance. I didn't mean to say that all dance styles were invented from ballet. It's the only dance style that can give you that and that's why we talk about ballet as the base/ foundation of all dance forms.

About Jimin and Jhope it's useless to compare to two. Both are lead dancers in their own right and have unique aura and dancing styles. About lessarafim kazuha is no doubt the main dancer. Because dancing is not just about techniques what's important is whether you can mesmerised the audience or not. Definitely kazuha never fails to mesmerised.
You lack some knowledge. Mesmerising someone by dance is a objectives. If you're a main dancer you need to have better techniques. In blackpink some peoples prefer rose dance cause they find it more attractive but that doesn't make her better dancer than lisa
I'm a professional dancer and Jimin is my bias in BTS , he's way of moving is so fascinating 😭😭😭😭 , thanks to him now I'm a way better dancer . They people who judge him are surely NOT DANCERS I don't know how to explain it like he can be smooth but energetic at the same time . Sometimes I even start to cry just watching him dancing
I feel like every single one of them have the same problem. Just because someone is great at one type of dance doesn't mean that they're great at Kpop dance. And if you're gonna be the main dancer of a Kpop group you should fit the style of the group, not the style of whatever dance you excel in.
Tbh some fans act like they can do better even though some can’t and at this point it’s sad that the theses kpop idols have to be treated like this there not dolls that u can control there people so treat them like it they go through a lot and they spend a lot of time practicing so stop acting they there your pets I’m sorry but it’s frustrating and I feel bad for these idols

Damn so many years of stanning BTS never once in my life i have heard someone saying jimin lack dance capibilities even though it's true that they both were compared to eachother, but that think of jimin not being a great dancer is just a beef between both solo stans of the members
I have to say some real thing Energy ≠ good dance Dance is just not about energy? Actually it's not at all about energy it's about your techniques and clear moves and i think Mina and kazuha earned there places as they have best techniques... Also idk about Kazuha but Mina can even remember the moves best and i hate people saying kazuha or Mina are bad dancers like they are very good actually as they got techniques... And people are blind not to see it... Also she can dance! I hate whenever anyone say it like be real Mina can dance kazuha can dance i totally hate people saying they don't got energy like shut up!? ( I might hate haters but not this video's owner )
I'm a ballet dancer and my mom is a professional ballet dancer (more than 25 years as she started at 10 and I started ever since I could walk as I'm now 15). In Mina's videos of her dancing ballet, maybe it was just those certain ones, but I have to say that she doesn't have all the technique needed to do ballet already, and in idol dancing, she lacks a lot of elements to deserve the title of main dancer, especially in a group with such a good dancing machine as Momo🍑. Mina is very much overshadowed by Jihyo though she too can lack certain precision and details, she is SEEN as an amazing dancer because of her stage presence and energy, which of course is not everything in dance but trust me, it plays a lot. Just like Ateez San who shows his skills (but has good details), Jihyo just stands out. Mina is my bias because of how introverted and relatable she is to me but EVEN in ballet, the popular saying that you face has to be still the whole time and stiff is NOT TRUE! Ballet dancing needs to be felt, it's an art that shows emotion, and you need to have it in your emotions, in your facial expressions. It's very nessecary, because you need to make people feel something, and our Minari doesn't. Overall she is an extremely talented person and potentially being slept on by JYPE, I believe that she can shine more with suited choreos (the recent Set Me Free videos show major improvement from her). About Kazuha, I can tell she is a ballet dancer, a professional one who wanted to make ballet her career. Ballet is something that you can see on someone even when they're not dancing, in fact people often ask my mom if she is one without even knowing anything just by the way she carries herself. Kazuha's skills are undeniable, in idols dancing she probably is not as precise and has yet to learn how to use her body to do different things that she used it to do for 15 years. I hope in their new comeback Unforgiven in May we'll be able to see improvement, because Zuha seems like the person to apply things quickly and learn from criticism. I wouldn't say Yunjin is the best dancer in Le Serafim, but her charisma/stage presence is really something that catches the eye of the audience so she definiyely is up there and probably at the same level as other members. This is just a more technical aspect from someone who knows a bit of what I'm talking about, I'd told to use more names for the moves Mina gets wrong but english is not my first language (not that I'm not fluent, I just don't wanna get anything wrong), so I couldn't get into that. And kpop idols should be performers (aka appeal to the eye of the viewer), so it's normal that some people praise some idols more for certain skills than others, but we can't deny that there are aces/all rounders and that not all members of a group will be all rounded
TBH, I think HybeXSouMu did a good thing when they didn't assign specific positions to Le Sserafim to avoid future conflicts within the fandom. Also, as long as the girls get appreciated on the things that they do well, we're good. They'll continuously improve, so they don't have to be boxed because of a certain position.
I have learner Indian classical dance for 8 years and let me tell you guys learning any classical dance gives you immense body control. This helps the dancer to look more attractive while even doing the simplest moves.
I DON'T GET IT WHY DO WE EVEN SEEING SOMETHING THAT COULD POTANTIALLY CAUSE AN INDIVIDUAL FAN WAR OR WORSE OUR IDOLS COULD SEE THESE VIDEOS AND START DOUBTING THEMSELVES. I will admit I was SHOOK when I saw Mina as main dancer on the Twice profile page (fairly recently, at that). I thought I needed to pay more attention to her now that I know this, and y’all know that’s not how it should be. I should be able to guess positions after watching a few performances and I may not be perfect with it, but I should be close. They never “feature” (best word I can think of rn) Mina as a dancer. No dance breaks, the camera does not fall on her during tricky choreography, etc.
Why are there still armys that see Jhope & Jimin in constant competition when it comes to dancing? This point of view does not reflect at all what the two are like as people & especially how their relationship to each other is My personal opinion: Jimin & Jhope both shine in their own way, no one is in each other's shadow. Both shine so much as a main dancer that as a REAL ARMY you don't even know where to look first always have to watch performances several times to be able to give both of them enough attention! I'm so tired that Jimin's main dancer title is still something that needs to be defended and proven over and over again within our fandom There are dozens of articles and official kpop profiles listing both Jimin and Jhope as main dancers. There is no problem here, there is no "yes, but". There is also no 1st main dancer and 2nd main dancer, there are only 2 main dancers, Jimin & Jhope! Y’all love to discredit Jimin too much
Just wanted to tell that all dancers mentioned are extremely talented but after all it's the company decision to give who which position take the case of le'ssraefim all members are good dancer but company saw something different in kazuha maybe which we cannot see till now and they are still in starting phase so this debate is useless in case Mina I have same opinion with xiaoting I am not much engaged with Kepler so I am not giving my opinion at last jimin and jhope both are excellent but all should know that both are the main dancers of the group and both are good in their own category at last everyone have each opinion this is my opinion anyways everybody have a good days ahead 💜💜👍👍
Ppl need to understand that Mina, Xiaoting and Kazuha aren’t bad main dancers as they’re trained in elegant and less energetic dancing (besides Xiaoting cuz ik she is a ballroom dancer) and they deserve their position and just cuz they don’t dance as energetic doesn’t mean they aren’t main dancer material
I personally agree with the Jimin one. He gets overshadowed by Jhope's dancing skills. And I think jyp didn't treat Mina as one of the main dancers to the point that mina forgot it herself.
Yeah I mean even during a question 'who's the best Dancer' twice literally said momo and something like all others are second place, I don't even think twice consider Mina a main Dancer anymore, I mean Mina barely recognizes it herself :(
Ballet technique isn’t something universal , it’s not gonna help you in other styles other than contemporary , just because you have ballet background doesn’t mean that’s enough for you to be a good hip hop , kpop dancer , it can help your lines and posture but that’s about it
Just because you mastered contemporary doesn't mean you must be bad at hip-hop Jimin has constantly proven himself worthy of his position in bts from a main dancer to the lead vocalist
@@ankrishadangol9505 I know , I’m just saying just because you did ballet doesn’t mean the experience itself is gonna automatically give you an upper hand when dancing to hip hop
every main dancer in any K-pop group is given the position for a reason, companies wouldn't have chosen them just for the sake of it and their is no main dancer out their that is BAD or has two left feet and so calling specific idols "talentless" or "poor dancers" can be a really big stretch, especially if they're the main of something
I honestly feel like everyone has a different style of dancing, sometimes before I even get to know a group ( like twice) I actually thought momo and jihyo were the main dancers but after seeing the background of each member, I find it pretty understandable why the chose Mina as a main dancer but because of how some people view her, I think even she forgot she is also a main dancer. But I think every member of any group is really talented.
I also think mina doesn't seem to be main dancer I agree with mina jihyo who is not even lead dancer but she is better than mina I like xioting dance but i prefer dayeon and hikaru dance
In a group can be more than one main dancer. I agree with Mina case, i don't think she is good as Jihyo or Sana and Momo. For Kazuha i think that Lesserafim can have 2/3 main dancers, for Jimin, he can be a main dancer with J hope and for Kepler is difficult, i think Coating maybe can be a lead dancer but she is extremely good like Yeseo for example
I feel like alot of time people just don’t understand how being the main dsncer in kpop works. Of course we know Momo is a better dancer then Mina, but thats not an excuse to discredit Mina for the slightest of things. Mina does struggle with stage presence and being stiff, but thats literally it. People take those 2 things and run with it. I’m not trying to discredit Sana or Jiyho, but sometimes it’s annoying when I see their stand constantly discredit Mina and Nayeon about dancing. Mina body control and energy while dancing is way better then the rest of the dance line besides Momo. People also say because she can’t do the choreographies like sana and jiyho she shouldn’t be a main dancer, well let me just debunk that statement. First of all Jiyho and Sana were trained in Hiphop and jazz dancing styles, while mina was trained in Ballet and contemporary styles of dance. Mina is the most flexible dancer in twice along with Dayhun allowing her to execute precise, sharp and clean dance moves. The reason Mina doesn’t ever take center in dance breaks is because she doesn’t excel in hiphop style dancing. To add onto this statement none of the members of twice can freestyle dsnce aswell as mina, freestyle dancing is a very difficult type of art where you make it up as you go. Some would argue, and say Momo can, which is completely false. Momo’s freestyle dance technique is very manufactured and consists of bootypopping and cheap generic moves. On the other hand Mina freestyle dancing has always been better the Momos. To add onto Sana and Jiyho not being better than Mina. I just wanna say this next statement is in by no ways to hate on Jiyho, but Jiyho is a average dancer, she can keep up with Momo’s pace and has solid stage presence, but that doesn’t make up for where she lacks. Onces most say she has amazing stage presences, but not %100 of the time. when the camera is off her she loses charisma and also starts preforming less energetic. Jiyho has the same problem as Jeongyeon where she dances way to hard in the beginning and then has less energy towards the end. She has bad chest isolations and lacks control in her moves. Onto sana there is much to say about Sana, Her dancing skills really are lack luster at most. She kinds has to rely on her stage presence and over all charisma and naturally sensual dance style to keep up with the other girls. Alot of people were made Nayeon got her lead dancer spot, but in recent hears Sana’s dancing style has decreased she is less energetic and charismatic as before. While Nayeon dancing has stayed the same with minor improvements over the years. Jiyho and Sana will never be better Dancers then Mina, kpop choreography has nothing to do with actual dancing talent.
Who tf said Xiaoting had dead eyes when performing, like gurl have you seen her stage presence gosh. Also Xiaoting desurvs to be (part of) the main dancer(s)
I think Xiaoting deserves the title, but if we only talk about ''Idol dancer'', I think Hikaru is the best one in the group, followed by Dayeon and then Xiaoting or Youngeun
I read a comment on one yt channel that Mina was credited as a choreographer of Twice's 'Love Foolish', 'Shadow', and 'Fireworks' stage in World in a Day concert. (An online concert by VLIVE+ and Beyond Live at August 9, 2020.) Someone replied with inquiry of how did the OP knew that. The OP wrote, "Her name was credited in the World in A Day concert credits....it was mainly in Korean so only very few fans caught it...most of the once don't know this." Can anyone else confirm this? 😁
1:43 first off popping is a genre of hip hop, and hip hop and jazz are based off of ballet technique, the first afro jazz dancers themselves admitted this and hip hops main style krumping takes its emphasis on body control from ballet and west African dance principles, krumping is basically the descended dancing style of the west African Zulu dancers with the technique of ballet, knetizens can say they like yujin and chaewon cus they look good all they want but at the end of the day dance isn't about looking good it's about discipline, control, flexibility, versatility and technique, and as of now kazuha is leaps and bound ahead of most kpop dancers and she is the most technical dancer in kpop, she can even defeat other kpop dancers in versatility, her background into ballet allows her to venture into other genres like contemporary, lyrical, modern jazz, funk, theater, and musical
According to how she is treated I don't think Mina should be the main dancer . Her performance is often lame and boring . In order to be a main dancer you need to have something to draw in the audience and I don't see it in Mina. I think she should be the lead dancer and Jihyo should be the main dancer . She has the power to draw in audience and always looks like she is energetic and enjoying the performance unlike Mina
Just another reason why these roles need to be removed... Main vocal sub vocal sub rapper.. all this is bullshit... Just let everyone be whatever they wanna be
All I have to say is that they were picked as a main dancer by the company for a reason, obviously this goes for the groups that have official positions. In the end of the day we can' t do anything about it and they are still going to be the main dancer of the group, the company is not going to change the position, so there is no point in fighting about it, at least in my opinion. (no hate, if someone takes this as hate, although I can't imagine why)
Leave jimin alone....jimin deserves the main dancer position.... everybody has there own techniques in dancing and comparing different people is mean...
In what reality does expertise in a single subject make you the best at everything? That's like saying this person is a professor of English, therefore they can speak all languages. Is it a K-pop thing? Because here we all know that a background in dancing a specific style only really means you're better at picking up choreo in other styles, you still have to start at the bottom and train in the new style. Like the video says, in particular, highly trained classical dancers get stuck in the style of dance and as a choreographer put it need to learn to "put some stank in it".
I agree with all, when I found out mina was a main dancer I was like how,!? Sana and jihyo is there. Not to be mean but her stage presence isn't there her face looks blank while preforming, I would watch her yes or yes fancam but now I noticed she just fell off. The kep1er girl I always see the short girl dancing she's amazing her stage presence is there. Omg Jimin now that boy is amazing him and jhope but I personally think jhope deserves to be 1st place in dancing although I love Jimin dancing skills 💖
I do agree with Mina being on this list....BUT THE WAY YOU HAVE ADDED JIMIN ON THIS LIST JUST SHOWS HOW DESPERATE YOU ARE FOR THE VIEWS...I think one of the reasons why BTS became the biggest kpop band on the planet is due to the unique skills of each member.....BOTH JHOPE AND JIMIN HAVE DIFFERENT STYLE AND TECHNIQUES....They are not clowns unlike the other groups and thats what made them big in the industry
These people need a chill pill. Kazuha debuted just several months ago. Tbh, I'm more excited to see what else she can do as a rapper rather than as a dancer because I already know she's great at the latter. The problem with most Kpop fans is that we're all so used to seeing 'powerful' dances with lots of popping and such. Kazuha is not merely a dancer- she's an athlete and an artist.
Sorry been a good ballet dancer does not give you an automatic entrance into been lead dancer or main dancer. The fact is that is the only dance they have mastered but to be called main dancer you have to sufficient in all dance styles a true dancer never stops learning. Once a ballet dancer has mastered ballet that is it they get better and better at that one style. So for example if one has started training in tap dancing which is usually the one that all dancers whether male or female master that means you have strong and robust feet and legs Everyone can call themselves a dancer even standing there and shuffling your feet is dance. True dancers and I mean the ones at the top of their game have the one ingredient that will set them apart from all others and that is MUSCLE MEMORY if you have that locked down there is very few dances if any you can not do. Which in turn makes them phenomenal choreographers. In K pop the natural dancers are easy to spot they don't think they just do and the flow is natural and perfect Lisa has it and she has it down to near perfection it is something that is natural within the dancer but it takes time discipline and memory and the most important part repetition. So for instance a new dance is created most dancers who are the very best at what they do can learn it with just one run through it they trap the memory recognise the step and it flows back. A true dancer never stops learning and the shelf life of a dancer is based on how good you are at mastering the muscle memory and not every dancer has it but every top of their game dancer does. I am in complete shock that you have JIMIN on this he is a phenomenal dancer he majored in dance he belonged to a dance group he is a beautiful dancer all of BTS can dance and yes they do have stand outs Jung Kook of course there isn't anything he can't do V again an incredible dancer I am shocked that JIMIN was mentioned. I mean he is in the top ten dancers of K POP many times Kai (exo) J-Hope (bts) Ten ( wavy) I could go on and on
So sorry for Mina. She has the potential, it’s just that JYP is pushing Momo/Jihyo/Nayeon as centre in every dancebreak. But TWICE genre isn't girl crush nor hiphop, but innocent bubblegum pop so I guess Mina is considered as Main Dancer conceptwise due to her smooth and balanced movements.
I think all of these idols deserve their main dancer positions, but I want to spend some words about Mina. I admit that she's my bias in TWICE, so my opinion could be biased as well. Surely, Momo is the best dancer in TWICE, and also in 3rd generation, so obviously Mina is overshadowed by her, plus Mina has never been the center in a dance break. But it's also because Momo has always suited TWICE's concept better than Mina. However, I think if they have more elegant songs like ICSM or Cry For Me, Mina's style would definitely suit, and she could also get a dance break. For the one who talk about Jihyo, I have to say that her dancing style fits better with kpop standards, and she deserves a dance positions, but I think she's a better performer/all-rounder than dancer.
@@khansawuabu-muzakir184 well, I'm not a professional dancer, but I feel like Lisa is always considered better than Momo because of popularity. My thought is that they are both really good at pop dance, but Momo is way more versatile. Btw they are both amazing

People dont just get popular for no reason they must have impressed people with what they do.
@@khansawuabu-muzakir184 Yes, I got what you say, but in that case, I didn't say that Momo is better than Lisa, or if I did, I didn't mean to. I just said she's more versatile than Lisa. i don't usually click on these videos but dance is one of my Things so here i am lol. i agree about kazuha (given her current level of execution of le sserafim choreography and considering that in relation to other members) and mina (also given her current level of execution of twice choreography and in relation to other members). i do agree about xiaoting but she's genuinely got a good handle on kep1er choreography - her issue is more that she's in a group with dayeon and hikaru who are just better, and i think main dancer should be based on the execution of their own choreography. i don't agree about jimin. not for the reasons listed though. he's a really good dancer, i would say he's the best in bts after jhope, and imo it's completely fine to have 2 main dancers. jimin is either better than or on par with a lot of other bg main dancers. i don't think he deserves to have any of that taken away from him just because he happens to be in a group with jhope, who is a very strong contender for best dancer in the entire kpop industry. also about ballet - kazuha is genuinely a good ballet dancer. she was pre professional at a great ballet school and probably had a good chance of becoming a professional dancer. mina was never at this level comparing her to kazuha is unfair. mina did ballet as a hobby and any existing clips of her doing ballet expose a lot of technical flaws that are easy to notice even if you aren't well versed in ballet technique. and ultimately none of this even matters when considering their roles in their respective groups because simply doing ballet doesn't automatically make you a good dancer in a different style, especially in kpop choreography which is more jazz or street influenced (depending on group and song) so ballet technique won't really help and if anything it would actually harm you. i think a lot of people have the unfortunate misconception that being good at one style should automatically make you good at another style. or they have the completely opposite misconception that being good at one style will automatically just make you incapable of being good at another style. this likely stems from the fact that a regular person not particularly interested in dance (and even some hobbyists) will never really receive a proper education on dance and that it's generally pretty easy to impress people who aren't practiced in analyzing and judging the technical skills and artistic expression that a dancer has. i think a lot of fans tend to judge kpop artists on dance based on their reputation (any dance background = automatically good, someone is known as a good dancer = automatically good) when this is not necessarily true. dancers can be overhyped or underhyped and still have poor technical development and serious issues despite their backgrounds (mina has extremely poor muscle engagement despite her dance background, jimin has poor body awareness and sense of line despite his dance background). versatility is also a very poorly understood concept. a versatile dancer is someone who has evenly developed and adaptable technique which would lead to them being able to perform the work of different choreographers in the same or similar styles to a high level of proficiency, not someone who can go from popping to contemporary to ballroom to ballet to hip hop to jazz. the latter requires you to be proficient in very very different technique and is an unreasonable ask from dancers, since people don't train in such wildly different styles to such a high level (key word: high level. taking some beginners ballet classes as a popper isn't going to suddenly confuse your body but becoming a professional in a company will) in the first place. going from hip hop to ballet for example or vice versa would require you to unlearn a lot of things you have learnt. there's this idea that jimin is more versatile than jhope because jimin has a longer list of styles he's formerly studied, but this isn't true. jimin didn't establish good foundations in any of these styles (not saying he's bad, he's just not particularly notable either) and his work in bts hasn't helped him develop technique that is particularly widely applicable (talking about open style since that's closest to what bts does). contrast this with jhope who was working off an already strong base in hip hop (arguably the strongest in kpop) and had already developed or went on to develop technical skills (pops and locks, good fluidity, lengthened extensions, groove, good sense of line, ease with footwork and weight transfers, well developed isolations in basically every part of his body, strong dynamics and texture, ability to project power) that now allow him to perform pretty much any open style choreography to a high level. that's what an actually very versatile dancer looks like. and just to clarify, i'm not saying you need to only like dancers who have amazing technique. i'm just saying that there's a difference between personally liking a dancer and that dancer having good technique. you don't have to like jhope but you do have to acknowledge that he has great technique.
jhope has great technique but jimin's dancing is more eye catching, thats why I will always prefer him he is more enjoyable to watch also I dont agree about your opinion of jhope being more versatile than jimin
See mina has a ankle pain she is doing her best ok and l know that jihyo and Sana are improving but the techniques of mina dancing is best and l think her dance skills are very really underrated the fans should also treat her like a main dancer

it is really embarassing that some new fans think there can be only one main dancer in a group smh when in fact there are a lot of groups with more than one main dancer
also it is really dumb to argue or compare when main dancers of bts are selected as both hobi and jimin from debut
frrrr❤❤

Freestyle I wud say Hoseok is better but they can both freestyle which none of the other BTS members can
Hobi is inherently a better battle dancer.

@@ceemaaaa Edit: This was a bad take I was pretty much just wrong
idol dancing is a different category of dance compared to jazz, ballet, hip-hop, etc, and when you take into account all the different categories of dancing, you can look at how a person may fall flat in one category, but excel in the other. For example, Lia from Itzy is not an amazing Idol dancer, but she does surprisingly well with contemporary performance, so it adds to her overall dance ability.
@@ceemaaaa Edit: This was a bad take I was pretty much just wrong
I think I phrased my comment pretty weirdly because it wasn’t quite what I was trying to say, but I’m saying that some idols are able to show their strength as dancers better outside of the specific genre.

Exactly.....I thought Momo,Sana and Jihyo were the best dancer of Twice

If you don't believe me, it's okay, see it for yourself with these performances (available here in yt):
classical = search "Kuroi Hitsuji MV Keyakizaka46"
modern = search "Keyakizaka46 - Glass wo Ware! at Keyaki Republic 2018"
modern, classical, & tribal = search "dance no riyuu"
take note, she's the center girl/protagonist in the MV
People just want to see the same boring diet hip hop technique from every group and then pretend like that is the sole meaning of being a good dancer.

Ballet is the base of every dance style, so yes it does have something to do with kpop dance style
Yes especially in female K-pop choreography.
? like no, ballet was invented way after many dances were already there. It can be one foundation, but it's not THE foundation
@@skarbuskreska it's not about how old a dance style is, ballet is the main if not the only foundation for most forms of dance. I didn't mean to say that all dance styles were invented from ballet. But learning ballet gives you the most solid foundation of technique that translates to all other dance forms. It's the only dance style that can give you that and that's why we talk about ballet as the base/ foundation of all dance forms.

Mina, Xiaoting and Jimin deserve the main dancer positions
Damn so many years of stanning BTS never once in my life i have heard someone saying jimin lack dance capibilities even though it's true that they both were compared to eachother, but that think of jimin not being a great dancer is just a beef between both solo stans of the members
I have to say some real thing
Energy ≠ good dance
Dance is just not about energy? Actually it's not at all about energy it's about your techniques and clear moves and i think Mina and kazuha earned there places as they have best techniques... Also idk about Kazuha but Mina can even remember the moves best and i hate people saying kazuha or Mina are bad dancers like they are very good actually as they got techniques... And people are blind not to see it... Also she can dance! I hate whenever anyone say it like be real Mina can dance kazuha can dance i totally hate people saying they don't got energy like shut up!?
( I might hate haters but not this video's owner )
Nah you still need energy are you dumb maybe they lack power

Ballet technique isn’t something universal , it’s not gonna help you in other styles other than contemporary , just because you have ballet background doesn’t mean that’s enough for you to be a good hip hop , kpop dancer , it can help your lines and posture but that’s about it
Just because you mastered contemporary doesn't mean you must be bad at hip-hop

I also think mina doesn't seem to be main dancer I agree with mina jihyo who is not even lead dancer but she is better than mina
I like xioting dance but i prefer dayeon and hikaru dance
I think all of them deserve the main dancer title, but all for different reasons. There can't just be one reason for everything only
Who tf said Xiaoting had dead eyes when performing, like gurl have you seen her stage presence gosh. Also Xiaoting desurvs to be (part of) the main dancer(s)

wow i loved minas dancing style and never questioned it i didnt know ppl thought this way she is my fav dancer in twice so i dont care
CENTER should have best stage presence, NOT MAIN DANCER

All I have to say is that they were picked as a main dancer by the company for a reason, obviously this goes for the groups that have official positions. In the end of the day we can' t do anything about it and they are still going to be the main dancer of the group, the company is not going to change the position, so there is no point in fighting about it, at least in my opinion.

Like the video says, in particular, highly trained classical dancers get stuck in the style of dance and as a choreographer put it need to learn to "put some stank in it".
xiaoting is such an amazing dancer
So for example if one has started training in tap dancing which is usually the one that all dancers whether male or female master that means you have strong and robust feet and legs
Everyone can call themselves a dancer even standing there and shuffling your feet is dance. True dancers and I mean the ones at the top of their game have the one ingredient that will set them apart from all others and that is MUSCLE MEMORY if you have that locked down there is very few dances if any you can not do. Which in turn makes them phenomenal choreographers. In K pop the natural dancers are easy to spot they don't think they just do and the flow is natural and perfect
Lisa has it and she has it down to near perfection it is something that is natural within the dancer but it takes time discipline and memory and the most important part repetition. I mean he is in the top ten dancers of K POP many times
Kai (exo)
J-Hope (bts)
Ten ( wavy) I could go on and on
So sorry for Mina. She has the potential, it’s just that JYP is pushing Momo/Jihyo/Nayeon as centre in every dancebreak. But TWICE genre isn't girl crush nor hiphop, but innocent bubblegum pop so I guess Mina is considered as Main Dancer conceptwise due to her smooth and balanced movements.
jimin is one of the best dancers in kpop argue with the wall
Momo is best dancer of 3rd Gen? I thought it was Lisa
@@khansawuabu-muzakir184 well, I'm not a professional dancer, but I feel like Lisa is always considered better than Momo because of popularity. My thought is that they are both really good at pop dance, but Momo is way more versatile. Btw they are both amazing
@@jkjisoo4ever387 Now adays people are trying to force the title of best to unpopular ones out of pity. I just watched their dance yesterday and realized Momo is lacking far behind Lisa in hiphop dance. And also Lisa has the ability to do some acrobatics in her dance.
And also, yes, I said she's the best of third gen, but because of this. Btw that's your opinion and I respect it. But anyway, my comment was abt Mina ahahah
@@jkjisoo4ever387 ok
i don't usually click on these videos but dance is one of my Things so here i am lol. i agree about kazuha (given her current level of execution of le sserafim choreography and considering that in relation to other members) and mina (also given her current level of execution of twice choreography and in relation to other members). i do agree about xiaoting but she's genuinely got a good handle on kep1er choreography - her issue is more that she's in a group with dayeon and hikaru who are just better, and i think main dancer should be based on the execution of their own choreography. i don't agree about jimin. not for the reasons listed though. he's a really good dancer, i would say he's the best in bts after jhope, and imo it's completely fine to have 2 main dancers. jimin is either better than or on par with a lot of other bg main dancers. i don't think he deserves to have any of that taken away from him just because he happens to be in a group with jhope, who is a very strong contender for best dancer in the entire kpop industry.
also about ballet - kazuha is genuinely a good ballet dancer. she was pre professional at a great ballet school and probably had a good chance of becoming a professional dancer. mina was never at this level comparing her to kazuha is unfair. mina did ballet as a hobby and any existing clips of her doing ballet expose a lot of technical flaws that are easy to notice even if you aren't well versed in ballet technique. and ultimately none of this even matters when considering their roles in their respective groups because simply doing ballet doesn't automatically make you a good dancer in a different style, especially in kpop choreography which is more jazz or street influenced (depending on group and song) so ballet technique won't really help and if anything it would actually harm you.
i think a lot of people have the unfortunate misconception that being good at one style should automatically make you good at another style. or they have the completely opposite misconception that being good at one style will automatically just make you incapable of being good at another style. this likely stems from the fact that a regular person not particularly interested in dance (and even some hobbyists) will never really receive a proper education on dance and that it's generally pretty easy to impress people who aren't practiced in analyzing and judging the technical skills and artistic expression that a dancer has. i think a lot of fans tend to judge kpop artists on dance based on their reputation (any dance background = automatically good, someone is known as a good dancer = automatically good) when this is not necessarily true. dancers can be overhyped or underhyped and still have poor technical development and serious issues despite their backgrounds (mina has extremely poor muscle engagement despite her dance background, jimin has poor body awareness and sense of line despite his dance background).
versatility is also a very poorly understood concept. a versatile dancer is someone who has evenly developed and adaptable technique which would lead to them being able to perform the work of different choreographers in the same or similar styles to a high level of proficiency, not someone who can go from popping to contemporary to ballroom to ballet to hip hop to jazz. the latter requires you to be proficient in very very different technique and is an unreasonable ask from dancers, since people don't train in such wildly different styles to such a high level (key word: high level. taking some beginners ballet classes as a popper isn't going to suddenly confuse your body but becoming a professional in a company will) in the first place. going from hip hop to ballet for example or vice versa would require you to unlearn a lot of things you have learnt. there's this idea that jimin is more versatile than jhope because jimin has a longer list of styles he's formerly studied, but this isn't true. jimin didn't establish good foundations in any of these styles (not saying he's bad, he's just not particularly notable either) and his work in bts hasn't helped him develop technique that is particularly widely applicable (talking about open style since that's closest to what bts does). contrast this with jhope who was working off an already strong base in hip hop (arguably the strongest in kpop) and had already developed or went on to develop technical skills (pops and locks, good fluidity, lengthened extensions, groove, good sense of line, ease with footwork and weight transfers, well developed isolations in basically every part of his body, strong dynamics and texture, ability to project power) that now allow him to perform pretty much any open style choreography to a high level. that's what an actually very versatile dancer looks like.
and just to clarify, i'm not saying you need to only like dancers who have amazing technique. i'm just saying that there's a difference between personally liking a dancer and that dancer having good technique. you don't have to like jhope but you do have to acknowledge that he has great technique.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💖💖💖💖💖😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
jhope has great technique but jimin's dancing is more eye catching, thats why I will always prefer him he is more enjoyable to watch also I dont agree about your opinion of jhope being more versatile than jimin
See mina has a ankle pain she is doing her best ok and l know that jihyo and Sana are improving but the techniques of mina dancing is best and l think her dance skills are very really underrated the fans should also treat her like a main dancer
