      Hi there and thank you for tuning into my video with your morning coffee. I hope it’s was a lovely beans to cup espresso, just like they have in Italy😊😉😊. I suppose I’m a bit biased, my wife is 1/2 Italian 😁. Hope you enjoyed your breakfast and have a very pleasant Sunday. All the very best to you and the family,take care. 😉😊😉

    Definitely an involved build . Looking forward to seeing the suspension working . Good show John 👍

    • @JF-RC
      @JF-RC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dom, thank you for watching my next instalment of this great Tamiya truck. The suspension is very basic indeed, I’ve gone stock for now, I’m going to see how the leaf springs and pistons work together. I may have to change the piston dampers for oil ones, but saying that, I’m using the truck for a scale like RC. I’ve got a Carson Truck Puller 80T motor to control those low speed manoeuvres. Honestly Dom, I’ve treasured every second of this build. The technicals of the next instalment with the 3 speed gearbox is truly a work of art in itself. Take care, keep well and all the very best to you and the family 😉😊😉

      @@JF-RC yeah that will be interesting. Do u change gear via the controller then?

    • @JF-RC
      @JF-RC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rc-dom-uk Hi Dom, the 3 speed gearbox is controlled by a servo and you can either change gear using the 4 channel on the left stick on the controller, what I’ve done, after getting some advice from Bob of Hobby Concepts, is put the servo control on channel 5 of the controller and control the gears using a 3 position switch on the controller. 😉😊😉 I’m using a FlySky FS-i6S controller, which comes with the kit to put the left stick to self centring. It’s a good radio set, that has up to 10 channels 😁.

      Hi there and thank you for watching. I think I’m on the easier parts of the build at the moment, got that supper 3 speed gearbox to come, with the selector forks, that’s a work or art in itself. Hi John, what a great build this is turning out to be - isn't it wonderful working with so many quality metal parts and bolting everything together? It feels like you are a miniature motor mechanic!!! Expertly explained as you go along. Funny, but those diffs and axles remind me of the ones I built on my Agrios! Oooh, lovely! Wishing you a great Sunday, my good friend! 🤩👌👍

    • @JF-RC
      @JF-RC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mark, thank you for watching my video of this wonderful truck. I am really enjoying every second of this build, so many metal parts, the leaf spring suspension system and axels are so life like, you can just imagine one of these great trucks over a pit and you’re working on the truck 😁😉. The differentials do look like the Agrios build that you and Bob built, I was thinking that when I was building them. This build is one of those that I’ll remember for sure. I’ve gone for a Carson Truck Puller 80T motor for torque and scale like manoeuvring. I’m looking forward to driving and reversing this with the trailer hitched on. Let’s see if I can remember my days towing my speed boat behind my company van, as I headed down to the south coast, oh that’s 35 years ago ! 😂🤣😁. Still, that turn left to reverse right and turn right to reverse left, with trailers attached, going to push my skills to the test, that’s for sure. Take care, keep well and all the very best to you and the family 😊😉😊

      @JF-RC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Buona sera Nanni. Thank you for watching my 2nd instalment of the Scania R620 build. I must admit I’m not a fan of the friction shocks, I might upgrade them later. I’m going for a scale like performance with a 80T Carson Truck Puller motor, so hopefully, the truck might not be too bouncy 😁. But if so, I’ll change them for oil shocks. It’s a lovely model, so much technical detail on these models. I’m using a FlySky FS-i6S Radio gear for the model. Take care, keep well and all the very best to you and the family 😊😉😊

    Great video John!!!! When I grow up I would love to build one of those big rigs, LOL. It's a shame that those beautiful "dampers" are not oil filled, it's just a spring housing over the leaf springs. Those diffs look like others used on other kits but as we know, Tamiya likes to use the same parts on multiple kits. All in all, it's looking AWESOME!!!!! Can't wait for the next video. Stay safe & healthy my friend to you & yours!!!!

      Hi Bob, thank you so much for watching my 2nd instalment of this great RC truck. As I’ve been building this, I’ve been thinking of those, who work on the full size vehicles, I suppose at the factory, they would use industrial winches, but in the repair garages, they would be over pits. I suppose it would have been nice for Tamiya to have included oil shocks, over the leaf springs. Tamiya are also very good at reusing components across multiple RC’s, but we’ve all accepted that is the Tamiya way, that’s what we RC enthusiasts love about Tamiya. I’ve been enjoying every second of this build, placing it in my old age memory bank 😁. Looking forward to driving it with the trailer attached, performing those scaled like reversing manoeuvres that you see the real size vehicles do. I’ve got a Carson Truck Puller 80T motor for some scale like performance and torque. Take care, keep well and all the very best to you and the family. 😉😊😉

    Hiya John. Very enjoyable to see how this all goes together. Looks like such a great kit. So many scale bits and bobs. I would have thought they'd put oil dampers and bearings in really but I guess it would be even more expensive then. Anyway good stuff mate. Very clear instruction for anyone building this. Hope all is well with you and yours 😁

      Hi Pete, and thank you for watching my 2nd instalment of this Tamiya truck build. Honest Pete, I have been treasuring every second of this build. I do agree, Tamiya could really have included oil shocks and bearings as standard. Still, the brass bushings have been stored (you’ll never know, might needed a spacer or something for another project😉) I’ve used bearings throughout. I’ll see how the shocks and leaf springs work together, I can always upgrade at a later date. I’m loving the technicals of this build, the 3 speed gearbox on this model is a work of art in itself. Hope you’re enjoying your Sunday evening, take care, keep well and all the very best to you and the family. 😊😉😊

    Only point. As a first time builder. You build for example the diff. It just pops together like magic. I would like to have seen what was evolved. And the bearings. Why change them and what with?

      Hi Bob, thank you for your time and valuable feedback. I’ve have since been adding more details into what is involved, why and what with, in other build guides. I did change the plastic bearings to proper bearings, to help with the support and running gear being s ice and smooth. I promise you, the Tamiya manuals are awesome. Best wishes 😉😊
