Yes and no. First thing it is hard to recreate a look exactly. I haven't tried one with just micas before. Interesting idea. The powders will sink after a little while. Might have to look into this.
Thanks. You are asking about working time. Most resins average about 30-40 minutes working time. This brand I can get up to 2 hours working time. It's an awesome resin. Stone Coat Art Coat and it has no VOCs, scratch resistance, heat resistance up to 400 degrees and UV protection. Once the piece is done, it will be 8 hours until you can touch it with your hands (super flexible at this stage) and then cure time of 24 hours (take out of molds).
No worries, we are all new when we start right. You can add colorants to the resin and then play with those colors. Amazing and great tutorial very helpful to a beginner like me thanks. Could i just ask a question - why do my colours sink when trying to dirty pour - i'm using epoxy resin and have tried a few types but keep having similar issues.
Thanks. Certain colors like whites and some metallic will sink. Sinking is a common thing with resin and doing a dirty pour is a gamble. I find that pouring your colors into a container and then immediately (but very slowly) pour it onto the canvas has the best results. There is minimal manipulation I will do after I pour other than covering the surface and rotating to give movement.

So its not on a canvas ,? Im confused especially because only closeups are showing after curing.
This is an enamel tray that I did a pour of resin within.
Is each color pre mixed with resin ? Or are the just stright up pigments?
I put resin into different cups and add colors meant for resin into it. Then created from there.
What kind of paint is used 'resin paint' ??
After the “pour” has cured, what type of ClearCoat is used to seal the pour?
This is a resin pour. No need to seal, but would always recommend a flood coat of resin with no colorants in it.
What kind of color did you use in the resin?
What is your tray made of that the resin doesn’t stick
It's an enamel tray and it does adhere well.
How much resin did you mix before you separated it into the different colors. Thanks great video by the way
Honestly I usually work on several projects in one sitting and I mix a large batch and use it until it is done.
🔥❤️
Do you let your colours sit for a little bit, to let them thicken up and then do your pours ?
Not intentionally. Sometimes they sit just because I usually pour a couple of projects at the same time.
