One of the few bargains on ebay are used conservatories. Typically a 5 grand fitted conservatory can sell, used for as little as £100. They are always a collection sale and often offered as a dismantle and take away job, but, of course they are an absolute bargain. Fitted, custom made conservatories are made to suit a particular house and patio doors, but with a bit of thought they can be made to fit your house. Lean to roofs make life easier for adaption and three sided conservatories even more so. Be prepared to travel a bit to pick up the Conservatory which will give you an easy job of adaptation to your house.
Hi David, you certainly know your Conservatories for sure. I have just bought a used conservatory on Ebay for £25, it's about 14 ft long x 7.5ft wide, with lean to roof (which is the easiest to use on a retro fit basis on a house with a patio door to encompass. I have 4 grandsons who visit and really need a indoor disaster room in the garden where they can create havoc and walk away without affecting the house..............does that sound familiar?

I have a couple of daft basic questions: 1) I've not bought a used conservatory yet as I'm not sure if all of the conservatory must 'fit' onto the house or is it possible to have some overhang of a conservatory past the corner of the house? eg what if the house wall was 2.5m long and the conservatory was 3.0m? Would there be anyway to add box this 0.5m in somehow which has no house wall to be attached to? 2) Your conservatory was 3 sided, could you have used only the front, 1 side and the roof if you had a brick wall behind where your sofa is and bolted the front and roof onto that wall? Hi Andrew sorry I didn't see this comment untill now, if you are still waiting an answer I will try. You should think of a conservatory as Lego use what you want of it and in what ever way you want, if you need to build a box as you say then it needs to comply with normal building regs.
Hi David.. I have seen your videos so many times..I am planning to build a 12 x 15 conservatory.. How do I calculate the number of windows and doors.. also, How much you spend for the whole work.. ? kindly expecting your reply..
Hi and thank you for watching, if you see the first video you will understand that I got it off eBay the only points I could hope for was to get the closest size to my area, if you want to have much controll over size of Windows and position of doors you my have to buy new which is a lot of money, I think in all I paid around £2500 as the basic conservator cost me £700 but a long way driving to collect it and in had to take it down.
No as a conservatory is not classed as an extension all you need is a 100mm (4") slab to sit it on, and up to 70% of you house ground floor you don't need permission unless your going to heat it them you must meet building regs
