    I did my 1st conny 15 years ago, bought it for £700-00, dismantled ity and put it up with no building or conny experience at all. Just careful guesswork. it was a selling point when we sold the house jan 2017. Bought another one for £300-00, incl blinnds and furniture in may 2017 and am in the middle of building it now. It was the best room in the house and it gave me huge satisfaction that my sourfaced neighbour paid 12000-00 for his and he had to have the roof replaced twice, one of his panels sailed past my back window in a storm. Mine never leaked in 15 years.

    Hi I hope you can answer my question. Was it made to order conservatory or did you get your own windows and put all together to fit? I want to build my own conservatory I have a dwarf wall already and slabbed patio but don’t want to spend 6 grand for made to order conservatory as I can get windows and french door much cheaper. Thanks

      I bought it on eBay, I went to the house and dismantled it and brought it home, the rest you see in the videos, I think if you can find one that's a good size and shape for your needs it's the cheapest option

    Hi mate, just a quick question, what did you use as a foundation below the first layer of bricks?

    • @dmgladden
      @dmgladden  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just 8" of packed hardcore but it had 15 years to settle with my decking standing on it, may would say it not enough but proof is in the pudding

      Dave Williams Thanks Dave for the kind comment I guess it's that old saying of think things through before you start that keeps me on track as many things are self explanatory you just have to feel your way though

    Quick question: If you wanted to take that down and do a conservatory with a dwarf wall, can you use that foundation that you have used right there?

    • @dmgladden
      @dmgladden  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no the walls would be to heavy i only get away with this as it as light as a shed

  • @lincordery2506
    @lincordery2506 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    why didnt you put some kind of tape or insulation sheet between the frame work and the bottom soffit you put on top of the dpc and was it not needed to bed the dpc onto the bricks please tell me as im not sure myself

    • @dmgladden
      @dmgladden  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lin no as I had already fully levelled the wall it sits on there was no need to bed it in and really it's not to protect the plastic framework but the overhanging dpc will protect the floor joists when they go in, as for the frame I have assembled as the suppliers recommended

    Oh! I was thinking the other days "How did I subscribe to this drone guy?".

      @dmgladden  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sek Ranger hi Sek yeah I do have a lot of subjects but that's what my channel is all about showing the things I love to do and I guess some subjects like Salsa or drones are not as popular as woodworking but I'm glad you find some of what I do of interest and hats for keep on watching

    • @SekRanger
      @SekRanger 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Gladden Because you don't makes them in a boring way. I mean, even if I subscribed because of woodworking. But the bird eye views from drone are interesting.

      Why didn't you silicone between the cill and the window and each frame, it's going to be very draughty Dave! Also, why didn't you use underfloor heating?

    • @leothelion2198
      @leothelion2198 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I saw the jointing strips inbetween frames. But we use silicone also. Good conservatory all the same. Im going to subscribe and watch the other videos. Well played all the same.

    • @dmgladden
      @dmgladden  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Leo the Lion ive been using i now for a few weeks and believe me is very warm no draught at all i didnt want underfloor heating just matter of choice if you look into it you will find you dont need to use silicone to seal the joints the jointing strips are shaped in such a way as to fully close the joints
