She cam qualify for parole. But getting it isn't a gimme. It will take statements from the family and friends of the two children to keep her locked in longer. Seeing that she isn't remorseful about the accident that is likely going to get her parole rejected the first time.

This is murder, not a disease. I’ve had type 2 diabetes for 24 years. In the past, when I drove, i kept my blood sugar “in the zone”, so in other words, I took responsibility. i prevented myself from driving several times over the years. 5 years ago i gave it up. The right thing to do. So if you have the “disease of drunkenness,” it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to take yourself off the road. Otherwise, it is some species of murder.

She got 15 to life. In CA that’s a minimum of 15 then she can apply for parole. She will be 75 then.
