Really like ur videos ur very knowledgable. Never understood the small boat channel there, always seems like a free for all.....even in ur vids yachts r passing either side of each other...red to red when head on, surely?
thankyou for this video, we did this at the end of October, and it was quite choppy once we were out of harbour, you also need eyes in back of your head, to see whats going on all around....
Thanks for another really useful video. I must confess that last time we came out from Gosport I lost concentration coming through the harbour entrance and found myself in the middle of the channel with a large car ferry just behind me. As you can imagine, quite rightly, I wasn't popluler. However, KHM (as it is now) called us and we got out of the way and apologiesed. They were very gracious and I was less than impressed with myself. Hopefully leasson learnt!
Yet another brilliant video. Excellent editing and production quality. You are a very clever chap. Have you professional training in film production. You are giving an excellent service to small boat sailors and motor-boaters on the south coast. I must check your channel and see if you have made a similar video to and from Cobbs Quay in Poole Harbour. Looking forward to further videos to watch while I endure the long wait for my new boat!
Hi John thanks for the compliements ;-) - th-cam.com/video/SwBXpgtkX8Q/w-d-xo.html does have some pilotage of Poole up and through the bridges to Cobbs Quay.
Hello, if you're entering portsmouth from the east, do you need to join the swashway from the start? Or can you approach the SBC with spitbank fort on your portside and 2bar starboardside? On a Neap tide
Enjoying watching your videos. A great resource. As you mentioned in this video how the entrance can get a bit rough. I did a little video of the flooding tide th-cam.com/video/VLtWaGxZgOQ/w-d-xo.html

Nice video. I bet the dredger coming out at the end got a bit splashy at the pointy end.
