    Picked up our new 574 last week, had the hand over and you are spot on.. most of it went straight over our heads. So your tips are invaluable and have helped us considerably !! Many, many thanks for that. However, yesterday we had our first ( and last we hope ) problem. The Swift command panel just froze, ( still on our drive luckily enough ) tapped on the icons and nothing happened.. I thought oops I've broken it already! Anyway I contacted Sargant who explained that it probably needed re-calibrating. This very helpful Guy talked me through the calibration procedure which is very simple and I had completed it within a couple of minutes and we were back in business. Unless you can tell me differently I've not been able to find this procedure anywhere and just wondered if anyone else had had a similar experience....

    Haha, my first handover, I forget it well. I picked up a caravan and next day drove it to a site in Snowdonia. Arrived in one piece and got it level and steadies down in 10 minutes, then..... mind went blank but fortunately I had a library of handbooks in one of the cupboards... 2 hours later I had it sorted , I think its a rite of passage....

    I thought you might find this interesting . I’ve have had a Diesel car and diesel motor home for the last 12 years , and I’ve just purchased a new motorbike . Never did this before but put two and a half litres of petrol in my motor home , I felt a right burk : anyway I asked the Cashier and he said that two and a half litres of petrol will not affect the diesel and worked it out .he did say that if my motor home was petrol and Diesel is added and that would be no good . A very clever man from India . I think what threw me was having a petrol motorbike ,

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you might not have seen the video when I did similar. I put 11 litres of petrol in and had to get someone out to drain the tank. The man who came said that it's probably OK if you put no more than 5% of petrol in your diesel tank, and fill it up with diesel, any more than that and you risk washing away lubricants in the engine and doing serious damage. th-cam.com/video/E5h9ACj8BR0/w-d-xo.html

    • @terencemanthorpe5522

    Another excellent video covering a complex subject. We've caravanned and motorhomed for 25+ years but still learnt something. We always use Chrome stick but our Avtex TV (which looks the same as yours) has a USB port on the back which provides the power for the stick. I picked up a short USB cable and it's neatened it all up perfectly. Keep safe and well.

    Hi Bob & Jenny. Just watched your video part 2 motorhome. On your alde heating control on motorhome panel can you operate just the water heater without the heating control on. Excellent video. Thanks.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't use the Alde control panel anymore, just the Swift Control panel, but yes, you can have just the water heater on without the radiators. They are separate systems. Just switch the electric and gas heating off and the water heating on (shower Symbol on the Alde).

    Very informative thanks Bob and Jenny. We have just purchased a 2018 Bailey autograph. We are totally new to the Motorhome world. We want a simple pop up to attach to the awning that would enable us to drive off site for the day. What can you recommend ? Also where did you purchase your thermal windscreen cover that seems an excellent idea from one of your other videos I have watched ? I notice when you were draining your water you did not go to the outside to open any outlets but I think with the Bailey you do ? I love your videos they are really helping me understand rather than all the manuals which are hard going. Thank you

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of people are going for the pop up gazebo type, but I have a Outdoor Revolution Movelite T2 driveaway awning. See th-cam.com/video/LF5RHApW49I/w-d-xo.html
      The thermal windscreen is a Taylormade screen taylormade-covers.co.uk/ Cost was £165 + £10 delivery. Delivery took just 4 days. See th-cam.com/video/YuoLoVK81xc/w-d-xo.html
      Our Swift Kon-Tiki has a control panel inside that allows me to empty the waste water (and fresh water) from inside. See th-cam.com/video/pK9EWBp1ZXo/w-d-xo.html about 9mins in.
      Don't forget, you can search on TH-cam and google for my videos, for example, search for "bob earnshaw waste water" without the quotes, and you'll find the video above

    Your Avtex TV has a powered USB socket which should power your TV stick, so power the TV stick direct from your usb on the TV and not use the 23ov socket. Lots of good advice but can you tell us why you shouldn't use a domestic tv 230 volts

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are better off using a 12v DC TV because you'll be able to use that when you are not on hook up, 12v TVs are generally more robust and designed as travel TVs and they consume less power.. If you are only going to use them on campsites with hook ups then a 230v TV would be fine, but you'll also need to pack it away each time, whereas 12v TV are designed to be mounted to a wall.

    To save on space a tip is to photocopy the relevant instruction pages in the manuals. Most are written in numerous languages and as a result are very bulky. It makes sense just to take the relevant instructions rather than the whole lot.
