    Just wanted to post a comment and thank everyone for all the positivity in here and also to the guys that have reached out in my DM’s as well.
    I’m truly humbled by the reaction and I can also say that it’s given me a lot of optimism and motivation for the year moving forward.
    You’re all the best and thank you again. Here’s to a great 2025 ♥️

    Hey man, thanks for sharing this video, I can relate to a lot of what you are saying. Playing similar stakes (200nl for the first half the year and 500 for the second half).
    I also have the urge to battle and proof that I am better than the other regs thus not table/time selecting enough (Esp after watching the Coinpoker Championship😅).
    I also play less or even stop playing in times of downswings to avoid the negative emotions and just find excuses to do other stuff (didnt even manage 300k hands this year)
    I also dont want to play live even tho it might increase my winnings but then fuck up my sleep schedule and stop improving as a player.
    I also coach low stakes players which is great but takes away time of the main goal; to improve as a poker player.
    Maybe it helps to hear that there are people in similar situations out there, like it helped me.
    All the best for 2025!

    Thanks for sharing, clearly you hit brutal variance this year.
    It sounds like you already decided on this, but higher volume is the key to everything in my opinion.
    Your intuition and ability to execute gets sharper, downswings last less time making mental game easier, you won't overadjust from short term results. Best of luck for 2025

    • @pkrelmo
      @pkrelmo  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you mate! I've definitely been through the negative end of variance a fair bit this year but as you say, volume is the only way we can get out of that and I didn't really do this in 2024. Definitely top of my list to improve on this year!

    Hey Simon, been silent consumer for month now. All you guys from UK, Weazel, Easty, you, Bena, really can pick up a good connection to you guys. Your display a very grounded guy. And I like people like you. The poker scene is a really egoistic scene imo. So even harder to let the pants down in these eco system. So I get the point that it is hard for you to post a video like this. But the honesty about is is much more valueable then creating a picture of a crushing guy be able to charge tons of money for coaching of people to proof the point that you are good. Just fuck off what people might say or even if the jump of the Elmo train. I can appreciate honesty like this one much more than anything else. It will print in the long run. Thanks for posting this and being so open. Avoidance has been a big problem for me too. I took six months off, came back in November to run up 70 buy-ins at 10NL. Then in December, I played 45k hands at 4 EVbb/100 but ended up breaking even in realised. After a few stupid hands, I tilted hard, dusted off 4 stacks at 25NL, and my monkey brain wanted me to punt the whole lot so I wouldn’t have to feel any more negative emotions. Luckily, I caught myself and snap withdrew the roll.
    The stress was brutal, mainly the compounding of runbad/playbad and the way I handled it was embarrassing to say the least. I can’t imagine the pressure of playing for a living with serious money on the line. Seeing your post made me feel a little less awful and even think about playing again. But my mental leaks from poker bleed into other parts of life, so unless I can sort that out, poker is massively -EV for me.

    Winrate without context doesn't mean anything, especially in small samples.

    2bb/100 in Zoom pools especially is a good WR for a pro, obviously we want it to be higher but it is what it is.
    Performance and mentality is key, your technical skill can be high but without those tools to be able to access your skill in your brain you won't give your best and that is just a big part of poker.

    Nice video bro.We were in the similiar situation at the start of 2024 on stars with those RB changes....everyone was hyped to grind but most of us in the end lost in that period of time 🤣.I like your honesty.i recognized myself in a lot of the stuff that u were talking about being competative,being the guy who prefers playing a football session rather than going out partying 😂, esp for the coaching part doing it,liking it but eventually not having enough time to play more because u are exhausted from it in the end.As for mental side yeah to be honest with u for most of the players its way better to improve mentally rather than technically because its easy to get better technically u just grind solvers put in the time study eventually u become better....but as u said no matter how good u are it doesnt matter if u cant execute the strategy u know because u are tilted or tired or whatever in the time u are playing the hand.Its 100x times harder getting better mentally than technically atleast the way how i see it.Anyways GL in 2025 bro hopefully we battle each other again on some different site because i cant play on stars anymore😢❤.

    Facing the mirror and being honest with oneself is a great attitude to have as it's a springboard for improvement and progress. I'd frown upon a coach who would not do that and attempted to hide one's own failures. It gives you even more credibility as a teacher in my view as it takes strenght and character - I wouldn't want to model anything less than that as a student. Love how honest you are, I’m sure this openness will help many others see they are not alone.
    I do wonder though if you’re competitiveness will prevent you from winning at any stake over a long enough time.
    As said, playing live or, I assume, dropping down a stake isn’t an option for you because it’s not ‘competitive’ enough or you see yourself as being better than that level.
    What happens if you win £60-70k this year @ 500NL, will you feel it’s competitive enough in 2026, or will you always be chasing that next level and never be content just earning good money.
    Would you rather win 40k a year at 1K NL or 80k a year at 500? for example.
    Something I think you should put a lot of thought into.

    It's difficult to explain the graphs because it looks like two different players before and after the upswing in the middle. The initial period of positive red line while the blue line is absolutely cratering would be characteristic of a player whose bluffs are always called and value never paid off. That suggests that you weren't being selective enough in your bluff spots and also being overly sticky. Then you hit a huge heater in the middle and I think this somehow skewed your thinking and set you up to fail in the second half of the year. The ski-slope red line coupled with stratospheric blue line is someone who is simply getting bluffed far more than they are bluffing. Perhaps the run of good cards conditioned you to forget about bluffing so much and just wait for the next good hand.

    • @pkrelmo

      @@pkrelmo Thanks man, many professional poker players suffer from procrastination, or motion vs action as described in "atomic habits". Here's a surprise: your goal, even if it's not monetary based (which you don't control anyways), but time-based which seemingly is totally under your control (let's say, play 1.5m hands in 2025 which you can control, allegedly) will NOT create a habit at all. That's why about 80% of ppl fail their new-year resolutions. There's a lot to actually creating a habit. I recommend that book, or that author's course in masterclass.

It is not to say that if you are a winning player you are capable teaching others how to, but if you are a losing player, it is pretty insane for a poker player to pay you hundreds of buyins to teach him how to be a winning player, when there are many winning players that teach poker. All in all, I think his content is really not going to make you a winning online player - it can really help you with 2-5 live play, but it is simply because live is much easier. I believe beating 5-10 live or 50nl online, is not something that he teaches well enough, and there is free/premium content that can translate well to these stakes

    As always, appreciate the transparency. Think it's important to keep in mind what you have achieved this year with starting the coaching business, Building your social media presence and by the sounds of it, finding some balance outside of work.
    I would guess, if at the start of the year, you were told this is where you would be at the end of 2024 you would be somewhat satisfied, despite the poker results.
    Ultimately your volume was always going to suffer, and at the end of the day you likely made a few Benjamin's with rakeback.
    Good luck with trying to better align your goals and actions in 2025.

      Hey mate, thank you for this!
      I think you're right and I'm going to look back at this year with a lot of fondness when all is said and done. I've accomplished a lot but it's also great to realign with my goals and I've got a lot of motivation from analysing all of this. Good luck to you as well!

    Respect for courage! Well, thats why I would advise everyone to think twice about turning poker pro. Its really hard profession - technically and especially mentally. I'm more casual player but damn, its 300k break even and you are still here standing strong. What do you mean by table selection? Less Zoom, more regular tables and whale hunting?

    • @pkrelmo
      @pkrelmo  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you mate! And by table selection, yeah more playing at good hours, making sure I'm not in reg only games and so on.

      @@pkrelmo For me personally big jump in profitability was when I realized how important is table selection and compared winrates of regs from my zoom sample(1,5kk hands back then) with regular tables regs. It was -1bb vs 3bb. I know you know this, just posting this for people reading this.

  • @vinityyy
    @vinityyy 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Yeah but your next 100k hand maybe be all going up and you are a lot of profit at 500k hands.
    I think best advice is to find the passion and excitment for poker again. Play shorter sessions but short breaks make sure you feel good and locked in and ease into it and i’m sure you will run great again and get those plays in!

      Yeah, I think you're completely right mate! Think this year I fell out of love with the playing side of the game a bit and it's time for me to fall in love with it all over again!

      You are not wrong, sir! I definitely realise this but didn't want to make this a sort of moaning video where I talked about sample sizes, variance and all of that stuff. Think there should be a happy medium where I acknowledge that variance and sample issues exist whilst also taking responsibility for my results, ya know.

    Just show your student's graph, we know how much mental is involved in the long run, as far as your coaching is technical, how could your personnal grinding results be the only proof of your coaching abilities? Makes no sense, critics will come from weaker egos than yours, you're showing right there that you care about trust and truth. Hope 2025 results video will crush this one

    Hi there, maybe you need some sessions of phycotherapy. In my humble opinion you struggle to wake up your old dream about to be top winner on high level but your current life is in a real sweet spot without yr old dream. I don't know if you should try to align with that or you should try to be very best in poker . That's why i said aboyt psychotherapy to dig in and find your path !

      Hi mate! Funnily enough, I started seeing a psychologist a couple of months ago and it's been really beneficial for me so far. I've definitely got a lot of stuff to work through (as have most) but I'm confident I'm on the right track!

    Other coaches would come off much better if they followed your lead and showed their graph with caveats. Ignoring requests to show theirs but not outright admitting they haven’t been winning players just looks shady

    • @pkrelmo
      @pkrelmo  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah, I can’t speak for other coaches as it’s very much their own prerogative if they want to share their results or not. But it’s something I will always do both now and in the future ♥️
