    Hi, I'm Dan and I grow a huge variety of vegetables for eating and also some Giant and Exhibition Show varieties for Local and even National Competitions.
    Throughout the year I will try to show how I go about growing my produce and hopefully give a few tips and tricks along the way.
    Whether it be how I grow potatoes in containers, growing basic veg for the home to growing a 10 pound onion or even a 100 pound marrow I will chart all my progress.
    Please have a look at my videos and subscribe to my Channel.
    Thanks.

    Beautiful harvest! (As usual. 😀 ) I can only imagine what delicious things you will make with them.
    If you cure your garlic like you do onions you do not have to wash them. The outer skin and dirt just falls away with a quick rub. You are left with a perfectly clean and cured garlic bulb. Makes quick work of it and no splashing or scrubbing.
    Thank you for bringing us along on your garden adventures. 😀 Also appreciate that you keep a simple everyday garden like most people might have and would be able to "follow along" with in their own back yard. No need for a large homestead to have a beautiful and abundant garden.

      Same same. I cure mine for a couple weeks, then clean and trim and store. I'll try cleaning some next year to compare.

    I prefer the term 'no till' rather than 'no dig' as we're only digging to harvest, not to 'improve' the soil.
    Big difference in rust between what I had outside & the garlic I planted at the back of the borders in the polytunnel - the latter had no rust to speak of, whereas the outside crop was wick with it.

    • @Allotment-diaryUk
      @Allotment-diaryUk  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah, can never be no dig in reality.
      Sometimes I get rust early and it ruins the crop.
      This year it came late so didn't really affect it.
      Some years I don't get it at all.
      It's just a lottery.
      Cheers Dan 😊

    Those are an excellent size and quality Dan. You must be delighted. The last 2 years my bulbs got hit with rust in mid May and it really affected the crop. What variety were yours?

    • @Allotment-diaryUk
      @Allotment-diaryUk  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      These are Solent Wight.
      Rust is just a lottery, sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't.
      Not much you can do about It either.
      Tried allsorts but nothing fixes it.
      Cheers Dan 😊

    I fill the greenhouse with garlic when the tomatoes get pulled, seems to work out most years, always looking for an earlier variety though since I need them out by end of May to get the tomatoes back in.
