My girlfriend and I are just starting on our bus. It's a 2003 E-350 7.3 4 window by a Canadian company. It is unique because all 4 windows are the short ones and it has no body ahead of or behind the windows. It is tiny. Exactly 10' from the step well to the back wall. Super cool little rig.
Really enjoyed the insight of registering the mini-buses as motor homes. Great info! Someone is going to be very thrilled to purchase this bus, and have years of memories to follow. Keep up the great content!
Proud to own a 1991 ford e350 Collins super bantam single rear wheel with international 7.3idi with almost no electrical and no Def. We built it out on the streets in Portland Oregon and it can park anywhere. Flat roof. Full roof rack. Spare tire on the back door. Winch on the front. All led lights. Passenger swivel seat in stairwell and 3 full recliner seats for our kids . A sleeping loft above drivers area and full queen-sized bed in back. We drove the bus through Canada and down the west coast to AZ for the winter. Then we bought the next unicorn bus.. 33 ft international amtran genesis fe with dt466 and allison md3060. Now built out for more room and bigger kitchen with full bedrooms and bathroom. So much room. Still have both with almost matching paint jobs. Yes. We rock.
7.3 IDI is the best. Just needs a turbo upgrade. Kits are available or take parts off of a junkyard one. The last two years of the f-series had turbo IDIs!
Nomadic Fanatic sent me over...All l can say is I Love you....your awsome and you have my dream bus this short bus...Thank you from the bottom of my heart letting me know what to buy....my husband is 6,3.....???? Will that work ???
You know, I always pass up short bus builds because I've never seen anyone build a short bus skoolie with skins on the windows. People always seem to keep the original windows and I've always hated that. Especially after Chuck put us on game about those factory windows that leak. Thanks Chuck. I'll consider these when I start looking for rig one day.
I have a 97 five window with the 7.3 and the high roof it’s fantastic Only difference the back windows weren’t installed as it was a luggage area I guess and no handicap door Nice to see you think it’s a great rig

This is a good size- pretty sure it fits the restrictions of some of the National Parks (Glacier- Going to the Sun Road, for instance) and it is big enough for all the things you want to take inside. I wish my budget was bigger. Sigh.
Ok, I'm stopping less an a minute in- to come back later! Cause I am supposed to be be purchasing that same package in a van body from 2003 TODAY! (I'm more than a little nervous/excited so 🤞) I had to comment, though, since you came back in my feed after not seeing you for a while today, with THIS?!
Coming from the land of sodium chloride and ferrous oxide that is a very sweet buss, and a really good price in my opinion. Alas I've already got an RV but boy did it cost a whole lot more. Keep the good stuff coming.
I have a 2011 ford 5 window short bus love it to drive at 23,5 ft but brought a 2011 workhorse W42 stepvan cause box was same length ceiling was 7,2 high and not quite as wide st 7ft 2inch bus was 7ft.9inch wide , but van was 21ft long and straight walls and ceiling and all aluminum. And 9ft 4inch high bus 10 ft high . Good videos always directed people to you your build videos
I love my 1999 7.3 E350 with the 4.5 window. It can easily reach 80 mph on the highway, but I try to keep it under 65 mph. It’s a Thomas model, so the interior height is about 6'1", which is a bit tight for me at 6 feet tall, but perfect for my wife who is 4'9". It's currently titled as a van, though I've considered converting it to an RV.
Chuck, I see you are quite fond of the Ford 7.3, but how does the Ford automatic transmission hold up? I have an opportunity to purchase a 1999 4x4 F450 fire rescue truck I would use to pull a Boreas camper. The truck has 79,000 miles on it and appears to be in great shape for $20,000. What do you think?
I have a question, been watching your videos for a while now and I am really interested in living this life style, however, I live in florida- I know you mentioned rust issues so how should I go about this? Even if I buy a car from out of state without rust would it rust easy if I brought it down here? I would like this bus to move out west in the Colorado/New Mexico area, tired of the humidity and heat down here but I don’t know anyone personally who lives in the area so not like I can go up and work on it by myself so I’m kinda at a stand still
Salt on the roads up north are the biggest cause of rust. Unless you plan to drive on the beach with the salt water you don't need to fear rust at all. I have lived here in sw Fl for over 50 years and no rust ever.
@@rickhiggins6521 thank you for the response! Yes I learned this the other day, I don’t know much about cars honestly or buses but good to know I don’t really need to worry about rust, just possibly getting a poorly taken care of bus if I buy it from down here, the school districts here unfortunately are really behind
What an amazing bus. I have a question. So after what length would I need to have a commercial driver license or do I even need it for the short buses? Anyone? Appreciate it🤙🏽

I'm building out a 98 Grumman short cube right now. 10'6" box length behind bulkhead

I'm curious as to why you choose a bus over a cutaway box van ?
Oh shit ya and.it has the side door too!
Any suggestions for a guy who is 6'5"?

with this recent heat how do bus life folks source bulk water like 40 to 75 gallons without buying it 1 gallon at a time?
fill up from hoses at RV tank dump and fill locations

What would u sell a bus like this for??
Why would you want to remove the AC unit? I'm not challenging. I'm asking. I don't know anything about bus AC units.
I suspect it was the rear a/c/heater combo which usually comes as a giant box on the floor (and in the way). I have yet to remove mine. 😂

What is the gas mileage on this van?
Depends on driving speed but around 10mpg at fast highway speeds
