  • My dear friend and fellow Harvard MDes Grad Student, Hiteshree joins me to share our graduate school application experiences! We go pretty DEEP and are HONEST in this video (because applying to grad school is not for the faint of heart, especially if you’re working towards a passion and profession). We share our background before applying to Harvard, and experience thus far.
Applying to grad school is no joke. There are so many factors of life which we pondered in order to apply... From our own professional goals, to our current abilities and passions. If you’re considering applying to grad school, especially if you're applying to Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, you’re in the right place!
Hiteshree is a lovely human being as you all can tell! I am so grateful for her friendship and happy that she is gracing my channel.

Loved this video! :) Thank you so much for this. I am currently interested in applying at GSD for MDes, but not sure what domain to go for. Could you also do a video explaining the domains ?

I have a great portfolio but my marks have lagged a fair bit. How much do you think it matters when applying to gsd? Some people say they dont check your portfolio if your cgpa is under 3.5 and some say it doesnt matter at all. It would be really helpful to know what it is.

You're doing great by starting ahead and having ambition! It's true that there's a balance between your marks, portfolio, essays and recommendations letters that largely your effort and ability and partly chance and preference of the admissions team. So I can't give you a clear cut answer, but putting your best foot forward and showcasing where you made up for the lack in grades may be helpful if there's and opportunity to do so.

@@ScholaChioma Thank you so much for responding. Im really grateful and also happy Easter to you! The answer to the marks lagging behind is simply that I got diagnosed late with adhd. My life has become so much better since taking proper medication and I can work so much more now. So much so that I only became ambitiouse and started dreaming big after getting diagnosed with it.
I wasnt bad before but I struggled with being consistent. Due to which my marks have lagged. They arent bad but they are only slightly above average, which I kind of resent now. Anyways I dont wanna take too much of your time, but a small question would be how could I let the people who take my application in , know that?
