Thanks for this amazing video , You’ve been helping me from the start of my journey . I watched your video on how you passed Sec+ and I followed everything on there and I also passed sec+ on my first try . Am currently on BTL1 also and am sure will be ready for the exams in about a month or two the most. Thanks for everything and am forever grateful 🙏🙏
I just went to a Cyber Dawg conference where the "Blue Team" (the one I was on) had to respond to a security incident that the "Red Team" conducted. After that I became interested in finding certification in Blue Team. Thanks for the review!
@@ZeNex74 Were you able to pass? Did you feel overwhelmed jumping from Sec+ to BTL1 material?

CCD cert from CyberDefenders is nice too. kinda similar to BTL and CDSA from the outside but I think is the most comprehensive blue team cert. really recommend it as a certified individual.
Thanks for the great review and congrats on passing the cert! I'm looking to take this course to see things from the lens of a blue team as a pentester :D
Thanks for this, I found about this cert a while ago and was waiting for something exactly like this and of course the perfect person to provide his thoughts on this was you Ben. Been subbed since I started my Cybersec degree and will continue to stay subbed.
From my experience, I'd say that I found it to be quite comprehensive. It covers a wide range of materials and seems to include everything that certifications like BTL1 and BTL2 offer, but at a lower cost. I appreciate the detailed and practical course content and labs in CCD.
I just paid $500 for this cert and expecting to have access to the material and start studying.I was completely lost when there's no content unless you set up Two Factor Authentication. I tried to set up but nothing happened and kept giving me an error. Please help! Im so anxious waiting to them to reply back after submitting a ticket.
Congratulations! I have a question, if you answer, I will really appreciate that! So, do we get questions that related 1-2 field? for example, WireShark and SIEM. Or we have to use all tools related each of topics during 20 question? for example, forensics, email, siem, volatility etc. I mean, it depends? or everybody will use all tools during 1 exam?
Ben, the question is how much is in demand this certification. If for recruiters BTL1 is not raising a flag, is gonna a be a disappointment for somebody looking for a job. What about other countries job markets.Let's say Europe. Are companies looking for this certification in your CV ? If not, what certifications will increase the chances to get hired ?
I’d say the BTL1 certification isn’t the most well known in the industry, but is growing in popularity. It’d also be good to have if someone is applying for a SOC role.
While the cert itself may not show up in job postings, I believe the tools and skills learned can get you an interview if you construct your resume properly.
Congrats you passed the exam! One thing to ask how long does it take to finish the course if you spend 25 to 30 per week? Can you able to finish in a month?
If you have absolutely no background in cyber security, I’d say start with the Google Cybersecurity cert, if you have somewhat of a background this cert is beginner friendly
Not sure if you are allowed to answer this or not due to NDA. So, in the labs if you don’t format your answer properly you get the red x and you know to reformat but quizzes you don’t find out until after submitting. Best example I can give is I struggled finding a lab answer because I did not have a comma in a 5 digit number. I fought for about 40 minutes until I realized it. Which way does the test work? Does it give immediate feedback for incorrect answers that you can correct before submitting?
You only get feedback once you submit the entire exam. Try and format your answers as accurate as possible, the questions will have examples of how to format your answers just like the labs do
Hey Ben, I've been working in a soc for 1.5 years and deciding on what to study. Would you recommend vendor certs like SC200 or BTL1. Tbh I'm a lot more excited to study for BTL1 over any vendor cert
@@BenTruong like for A+, you have to pass both 220-1101 and 1102. And Net+ has N10-008 and soon 009. Didn’t know if you had to pass both both 008 and 009

Maybe I’ll take a look into it in the future! Thanks for commenting👍🏼
CCD is far more advanced than BTL1, you can probably compare it to BTL2, but I agree, it's one of the best blue team certs out there.
Thanks for the great review and congrats on passing the cert! I'm looking to take this course to see things from the lens of a blue team as a pentester :D
Go for it!
Hey I know this is old but can i ask why you were going blue team from red team? I’m trying to narrow down what team I want to fovus
What an amazing video. Thanks for this Ben. Planning to get started with this certification soon!
I appreciate that! Glad you liked it
HTB CDSA is similar, but 150$ cheaper. BTL1 is more well known, but is not a mainstream hiring manager cert too

It is a really helpful review. Thanks man.
Btw I wanted to know, After buying the course how much time do they give you to prepare for?
4months for the course access, and 12 months to take the exam
About 10 hours with breaks for the 24 hour test, but how much actual hours you think you spent on it?
Congrats you passed the exam! One thing to ask how long does it take to finish the course if you spend 25 to 30 per week? Can you able to finish in a month?
Yes you definitely can finish in less than a month if you allocate that much time
Thank you for making this video! As someone who is still new to all this, I am very nervous to take this course.

I’m big on BTL1! Either that or CySA+ because of the CompTIA backing
this cert is wayyy too expensive for a level 1 exam :((((
Can you do splunk cert based on the knowledge gained from this cert.?
What certification would be a more affordable option?
Is there any way we can get a discount for this certification? A student discount maybe?
