The snapper is called running pliers. I almost got started with the stained glass hobby a while back. TH-cam keeps trying to find more hobbies for me than I could possibly have time for. I tend to cycle through them. After a lot of practice cuts on inexpensive clear glass from Home Depot, it got too hot to get out in my garage. I moved on to other hobbies. We're approaching a season where it might get cool enough to get back out there. At the moment it still feels like I'm doing yard work in a sauna out in my yard. I'm looking forward to getting back to it, and back to cooler weather. Summer needs to go away. There's something exhilarating about the controlled breaking of glass. Some might find the sound of a glass cutter a bit unnerving. I guess for someone fond of working with glass, it's music to the ears. I've been hesitant to set up a stained glass work area in my house because of the glass shards. I have dogs who go around the house with bare paws. I may have to find ways to deal with the glass shards indoors if I start to make progress with this hobby and get addicted to it as I suspect I might.
I sympathise re the hot weather. I was supposed to have a student with me yesterday but it was 29 degrees and way way too hot in my workshop - although I had to brave it myself as I had a deadline. Anyway - back to normal uk September weather today and I'm looking forward to my student's arrival. And this is probably the worst thing to tell you, but my dog pads around quite happily in my workshop - not that I'm recommending it!
My skills need sharpened. Sophie!!! Great instruction 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
