Ingrid! Your creativity is on 🔥🔥🔥! I was mesmerized by this project! I would love to try it, and really appreciate you leaving in the steps along the way where you would do something different in the future. I’m such a Dollar Tree junkie, and I’m having to use restraint when I go in, so I don’t keep collecting and hoarding. I’m banned from buying stickers, rub-ons, and ribbons! I probably should extend it to yarn and fabric as well! Interestingly, I just bought four more of the seed packets on Friday, because I think they make great jj pockets. I’d love to see what you might do with them. I made mini faux Polaroids with them a couple of years ago, by using a square punch on the flower pictures, the attached them to glossy photo paper and cut the Polaroid shape around them. Sorry for the novel-I’m a maximalist when it comes to words!,😂❤❤❤
I couldn’t LOVE your words more! I devoured each one! I think the key is using your supplies…and look at it this way, the more you use the more room you make for more goodies! 😂 A brick just hit me in the head! I cannot believe that I never thought of using the seed packets for crafting!!! What a great idea! My wheels are turning now! Thank you!!! Thank you for your inspiration, and for each of your words!! 💗💗💗
That Polaroid idea is great. I’m going to try it too. I just spent $29 yesterday at Dollar Tree so I know what you mean!!!
@Ingrid now my question is how well (or not) does this gorgeous paper work for watercolor??? 🤔 😊
I have found, that if I use a potato chip bag, with the silver lining, when the project dries, it slides right off! 😊 Thank you for this idea.
Another great reason to eat chips…I’m IN!! Thanks for the awesome tip!! Hugs! 🥰
Trash bag too! ❤
@@karatootie Thank you for your great ideas. Really the potato chip bag works GREAT! I use them for everything. I do alot of crafts with my grandchildren. So, I use them for napkins, tissue paper, if I am painting or stamping lace. Working on page edges. Absolutely everything. When the glue or the paint or the mod podge dries, the project slides off. I used some one ply brown napkins, (Wendy's) I glues them down, 2 layers and I crinkled the edge with my brush. It looks just like, oh what's it called?, PARCHMENT paper. I used them to make treasure maps for my Grandson's birthday party! Try the potato chip bag! Works great! Happy craft, God bless!
This is amazing and I can’t wait to get started. Thank you for saying just let go!
Great idea Ingrid. I think I might try it using some dried herbs from the food section of Dollar Tree. Maybe Italian seasoning, parsley etc.
YESSS!! Guess who’s making a trip to DT tomorrow?? 👋🏼🚘💨 Thanks for the great suggestion!!! 💗💗💗
I am also embossed challenged! Good to know I am not alone. (Don't get a cropodile either.) We should start a support group. :). Fun project. I am super intrigued. Can't wait to try.
the video was hardly over before I was out the door to purchase white napkins & seeds lol I thought maybe crushed up potpourri would be a nice touch. Can't wait to play! thank you for always inspiring me Ingrid!! love you!!
I LOVE that!! 🚘💨💲I think potpourri would be a great idea! Rose petals, lavender and spices have all been suggested as well! You’ll have to send me pics of what you make! 💗💗💗
LOVE YOU right back!!! 🥰
Was just thinking…. maybe use up some of the really ‘chunky’ but cheapo potpourri that is in the cello bags & the bigger elements LOOK pretty, but the mixture often doesn’t smell as nice as we’d hoped… might work great crushed up in this kind of project…
So cute!! ❤
This is a cute little booklet. I coffee-dyed papers last Sept. and made a little journal outnofit. Itissomuch funandIwilltry your recipe with cornstarch and coffee. TFS
I agree! I believe God made us to work with our hands and to be creative!! I am going to try this method soon.
Yes ma’am 🙌🏼 I don’t think it was a mere accident that Jesus was a carpenter! I hope you do try it out! It’s so much fun! 🥰 Thanks for the comment! 🫶🏼
@@karatootie I actually just did my first run. Lessons learned. My corn starch mixture too goopy. My coffee needs backing off a tad. Gonna try try again!!
SOOOOOOO CUTE! Now you can add "mad" scientist to your accolades, Ingrid. And I mean "mad" in the most complimentary way! 😄 I finally figured out the embossing...strickly trial and error on the use of sandwich layers to support the project...which means I do a LOT of switching and adjusting the "sandwich" layers. I LOVE to emboss, so I can kind of just "eye" the embossing folder and decide how much or little of a "sandwich" it needs. LOVE this project...yours are the first videos I watch!!!
Candi you are always so sweet! 🥹🥰 Thank you for your support!! Seriously! I love being the mad scientist 👩🔬 if only my 10th grade Chemistry teacher could see me now! 😂
Love your book! No such thing as too much embossing! I’ve attached a smooth piece of paper to an embossed one so I can use the other side for decorating or journaling.
LOVE this 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕. ThankU for sharing your amazing creativity- very inspiring.
Anna! Thanks to you for your sweet comment! I am delighted that you enjoyed the video! 💗💗💗
Interesting process! I can't see myself doing this at this time in my life... but it was fun to watch you play! :). And loved the end little journal and your torn edges... (I need to do more of that!). Such a sweet voice you have and I love the scripture postings throughout your videos. Way to share about Jesus!
I love making faux paper! Great idea! I've always used Mod podge but anxious to try your cornstarch coffee glue!
Beautiful ❤
Wow the papers look great. Love the ones with the flowers /plants. You can never have too much embossing. I don't know if I would have the staying power to do all the steps, maybe in summer I will feel more inclined and when there is more plants to pick
I totally agree! I’ve also gotten other really great suggestions like: lavender, spices, rose petals and potpourri! 💗💗💗
Oh my goodness! Love ❤❤❤ Thank you so much! Be blessed.
I will definitely try this one- love. ❤ it
Yay! Please do Marly! (ps I adore your name!!) 💗💗💗
I love this idea. I have so much lavender in my yard and some pretty purple weeds that are going to be great together. Thanks
That is amazing!!! Is it natural or did you plant it? Those papers are going to smell so lovely!! Thank you for your sweet words! 💗💗💗
🤚 🤚 me. I just bought a sizzix big shot. I have only run a couple of dies through it and no embossing folders yet. I would be and am in the same boat with trying to figure out this wonderful tool.
❤amazing!!!!❤❤
You’re amazing! Thank you!! 💗💗💗
I have a fancy diecut and embossing machine and I haven't figured out how to get the plates to fit just right yet. I've had it for months. I have a tiny one that's simple and easy to use, but only a few things fit in it. I love these papers and the mini journal. It is so cute! I subscribed!
Oh I’m sad that you can’t use the fancy one but I’m even more happy that you’re in the same boat as me! I feel like they could make them a little more user friendly! I have a friend that is a wiz on them and gets all the different settings…but I’m not sure I ever will! 😂 Welcome to the karatootie family! Sending you a BIG virtual hug!! 💗💗💗
@@karatootie I'm not giving up. I'll get it eventually!! Hugs back!
Ok then I’m in with you! We will conquer the die cuts!! 💪
Maybe rose petals? (I have roses in my yard.) And a rose colored tea mixture with the cornstarch? Have not tried this. Intrigued.
YESSSSS!!! I’m going to go pick some of ours tomorrow! Great idea Audrey! Maybe I’ll walk around the neighborhood and look for flowers 😂 👮 🌸
What a wonderful experiment. Love this. You are beautiful. Blessings to you. And yes I totally agree with you that we are created to create.
Blessings to you! I’m so happy you enjoyed the project! Thank you for your sweet words! 💗💗💗
Whoa...wonderful experiment. I still have pressed flowers and ferns from last summer that I am gonna use TODAY. What a budget friendly craft! I have everything already in my pantry
Jennifer I am so jealous (in the best way) that you have pressed flowers to use! I bet your papers are going to turn out amazing!! Thanks for your comment!! 🫶🏼🥰
This looks good also if you use spices instead of seeds to make faux paper.
Yes! GREAT idea!!! 💗🫶🏼
Ingrid.... What a wonderful video. Love all your ideas and talents. This little book is beautiful with all these different pages.
Guess I shouldn't throw out miscellaneous papers that can be used as pages. Thanks again for this great video. My Church gals are going to love these. I am now a new subscriber. Blessings from hot Arizona...🙏
Pamphlet stitch plz... I am a newbie, lol... love all of these paper ideas
Hi Barbara! Welcome to the wonderful world of junk journaling! You’ll never look back!! Pamphlet stitch coming up!! 💗🪡💗
New subscriber here. Fabulous ideas. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
A big warm Texas Hug to you Tracy! I’m so happy that you’re here!! 💗 When I lived in Michigan (a few years ago) we had the privilege of visiting your beautiful country! One of the things I miss most about being up North! 💗💗💗
I would definitely love to try this method.❤️ Thank you for sharing. I think I will really like the different textures.
I feel exactly like you with the embossing machine. I always feel like I'm going to break it🤷
Especially with the crackling sounds 😫 I’m so happy not to be alone! We’re no longer in a boat, you, me and the other girlies are sailing in a cruise ship together!! #clubcantunderstandthediecutmachine 😂 I hope you do try it…you’ll really enjoy it! Hugs! 🥰
Love videos where I learn something that didn't know. Thanks so much!!!!!
OH MY STAR!!!!!! this is THE best 🥰I love it so much I am oft start this beautiful work Ingrid THANK YOU 👏
Ingrid, you are so sweet! I just recently found your channel and I’m glad I did! I love the embossing and it’s a beautiful little book! God bless you 😊
I am super inspired and enjoyed this video Very much! Thanks🙋🌅🐦
WOW! this was an awesome experiment and the outcome is amazing...a must try!
Loved this video and seeing how you made the paper with napkins!!❤
You are so cute!!!
I just found your channel and subscribed. Everyone has trouble with embossing machines. I think some of it’s just trial and error but the result is beautiful. ♥️
Welcome Janice!! So happy to have you join our family! Thanks for the info on the plates…I honestly have avoided using it for years since I struggle with it! A big warm hug from Texas! 💗💗💗
…and YOU’RE so cute!! 🥰
How is the paper to write on? What kind of ink did you try on it? Looks like fun😊
❤❤
💗💗💗
Such a neat craft to try out! Thank you!
No thank you for your kindness! I hope you do try it out! 💗💗💗
Thank you you're a beautiful soul❤
No thank YOU and your kindness!! 💗💗💗
Love this!! Super excited to try this later today. My only worry is will the papers eventually grow mold? I live in a pretty humid area
Very cool! New subbie 😊
Thanks for subbing Fran! A big warm Texas hug for you! 💗🫶🏼 I am so very glad that you’re here!! 💗
I don't die cut cuz I can never remember which plate goes where
Ingred, have you ever tried the napkins on the cereal bags? It's pretty cool.
Janet…tell me more! I have not but I feel like it’s something in my near future!!! 💗💗💗
@@karatootie I will see if I can find the video

Does adding more cornstarch make the solution thicker
I also have instructions on my bottom plate but it does me no good when embossing or die cutting. I usually just put things on, change the plastic plates, take things off until I get it through the machine
👋🏼 Meeee!!! For a while I had lost my plates and I was using small cutting mats and pieces of cardboard built up 😂
I seen another video on this and they used the white layers from other napkins. And only used 4 single layers
Yes! That’s a great use of the whole layers from decoupaging! I think 4 or less is definitely the way to go! Thanks for the info! 🫶🏼💗💗💗
Love this idea and have a question...did you try writing on the pages? If so, how did it come out? Can't wait to play...
I just did Sandy and had no issues! Used a gel pen and it worked like a charm! 💗 Thanks for your sweet words!! 🫶🏼
