    I had to pause & 11:30 to say...
    I have remarked that Eva, from Bohemian Crafting, "... could create something beautiful from a piece of lint!" She has... I've seen her do it! 🤩
    Now I can say, "Luise can create beautiful works of art from literal trash!!" 😍
    You have given me an excuse for all of the random "trash" that my family can't understand why I keep.😁
    I'm really loving this series.💜💜💜

    You're amazing to make trash look beautiful. . . and making a journal in the middle of moving from one place to another is astounding. Thanks for including us in the adventure.😊❤

    I am enjoying this series so much! The focus is less on name brand products and more on taking what is at hand and applying your prodigious creativity to make something unique and compelling. This is your superpower. This series is letting it shine, and fills me with inspiration.

    Musings: I think I've always been a little confused by exactly how junk journalers use the term ephemera. That's because I have long been fascinated by those items one can stumble across that's been forgotten in the back of a cabinet or a drawer that is old enough to look kind of nostalgic. Thinks that weren't created to endure but to be used/enjoyed/referenced and then discarded: a paper package for needles; a 15 year old tag from a popular brand of blue jeans; an old school library card; an old postcard or greeting card; a label from an old container; etc. When I say 'fascinated', I was deeply fascinated. And I didn't really know what one might call this kind of stuff. I finally, maybe 20 years ago, ran across the term 'ephemera' and I instantly got it! That was what was so fascinating. These items weren't meant to endure but they had. And I'm also kind of a fan of nostalgia (as a state of mind) and the 'way back' nature of these items played into my love of nostalgia. Fast forward into me dipping into various paper arts and I realized junk journalers were freely using the term ephemera. Sometimes it was digital versions of those old items (which I had mixed feelings about but... everyone to their own) and sometimes the items didn't resemble what I understood as ephemera at all. Not that I think people are necessarily using the term incorrectly. It's a term used by a demographic of creators and if everyone understands that term, it works. It has grown a new meaning. But, personally, I, often can't sense the parameters that bound the variety of items that can get identified as ephemera in many videos I watch.

    Hi, I made a comment a few weeks ago that I think got lost in translation! To me, this is true junk journaling! I feel we are at our best when we have to come up with something from nothing. It really gets the creative juices flowing. You are just inspirational to us all. This sort of "Art" allows us all to think beyond labelled merchandise and to dig deep within ourselves. We are all capable of "stepping out" of our comfort zones, sometimes we just need a little push. Love how your mind works Luise, tfs😍♥️

Love the fodder, the ripped cardboard with paste and rubs, who thinks of even trying black on black? Makes me want to buy some cologne just for the box! Haha This masterpiece of memories will make the best book to flip through in years to come. Can't wait for your move and looking forward to sweet music. Oh, and by the way...i learnt from you about foddet. One of my favorite videos is your making fodder with scraps, ink, stamps etc. TFS and inspiring ❤ Nebraska ❤❤

    I am new to all this …… I love the expression « Fussy Cutting »😂 I never understood « Ephemera » …. I do now though 😅. Maybe « Fodder » could be the rough stuff you have to create « Ephemera » ? …… or is that more confusing? 😅😂. Love everything you do ❤

    Luise, you are brilliant & so cool! (I knew this already, of course!) Amazing ideas!
    I sometimes think that we say "ephemera," just because it sounds better to those who aren't familiar, than "junk," lol. When I hear the term "junk journal" that sounds interesting to me, but I am used to this type of crafting. But when I describe what I'm doing to my friend who does more "structured" or "traditional?" creating like sewing, quilting, etc., the junk idea is a turn off to her, so I might say "handmade journal." It really doesn't matter, really, except we've now come up with common shared terms, so viewers understand. It's a bit like the saying, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." 💜

    Luise putting aside that this collage fodder is over-the-top grungy brilliant, I love how you are gathering the pieces in the buffet box, to later build the journal. You can see the pieces together and it keeps the overall vision for the journal cohesive. Thank you - this is going to help me organize my bits and pieces, and then what fun designing the pages with all of that to choose from!!

  • @theresaconway-hayes
    @theresaconway-hayes 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Good discussion Luise. I think once something becomes a tag and gets to the level that your tag was, that it is then pre-made ephemera that I would file under tags. Speaking of tags... I tagged you on ig with an example of what I think of as ephemera fodder that can be used as collage fodder or cluster fodder. But you are right and that is that at the end of the day its all about having fun and having fun in our own way. Thanks for your ability to be real about things.
    Btw, it is so funny to read through the comments and see how folks are trying to find a love life for you . I pray for good friendships for you and if one of those friendships happens to fit in the significant other category .. than so be it.

    I am so happy you are doing this series. I love the story of it all! I think it makes it all the more special because it is made of things you found in your new apartment and your creativity in using them is truly awe inspiring! I am so grateful for I always learn so much from you, especially in the videos you show your process and explain your thinking and why you make one choice over another. I love the way your mind works with all the brilliant crazy ideas. You encourage and move me to explore beyond my own boundaries! And from the bottom of my heart I thank you for that! 😊

    If you use the texture on the gel plate, what would you call it? A texture tool? Then if you used it as ephemera in a journal with the new color on it, it returns to ephemera or fodder.
