I have no background in farming of any sort, but have been playing a lot of Farming Simulator 19 on PS4. Seeing a silage harvest in real life is brilliant and really makes you appreciate all the hard work that farmers do.

I could have moved across our fields in no time with that chopper. All we had was a two row corn silage cutter. I enjoy watching modern farm equipment at work.

Great video again Tom, when I was on brewers grain some farmers used to put it in with the silage help keep every thing stable. Used to drive straight into clamp tip then they would spread it with the grass

Great crop of silage lovely land am from Ireland use to farm myself but had to retire due to to health reasons from epilepsy when I was younger drove a lot for a contractor and on our own farm and contractor use Bactensil a lot brought up sugars a lot in grass a lot of factors help in getting great silage it was like molasses the good old days best wishes farming from Galway in Ireland 👍👍🙋🙋

Nice driving Tom, 20 years ago when I used to draw in silage I always used the trick of tipping up the trailer just enough that I could see the trailer wheels and it helped us to reverse in perfect every time... granted we only used 12 foot trailers as it was the dark ages lol

Awesome video Tom and love all the videos you put out. Worked for a guy near Salisbury who used to do like 5 cuts of silage a year, mostly for quality reasons.
Also I saw a video on TH-cam where the farm shear grabbed off the front before sheeting the pit. Maybe an idea for next years silaging in the open air silage pit.

On the market but the best way to keep a silo is to cover it in clingfilm then put the the cover over the top of it
