Its impressive the car can just park itself, but honestly I would just use the Drive straight modus on a tight parking spot whenever i would like to entry to car.
im hoping kia would improve the parking quicker, its very cautious and conservative at the moment but some cars align better and less back and forth. The parking system seems only to work when it's between two other cars and doesn't really see the parking lines on multiple open slots.
Nice gimmick but so much faster to park yourself. Useful in narrow bays where you want to vacate without contortions, but then you'd be worried about the cars next to it smashing it.
Kia itself had this like 10 years ago and it's just as atrocious as it was back then. Any competent driver can park a car like this in a 3 step manouver at most and can probably do it in less than 30 seconds rather than 2 minutes without hitting the curb. They can barely make it park and they think they can make this drive itself? I've seen buildings being parked better than this.
Great technology but it seems like it requires a lot from the user when you could simply just park manually, more quickly. Parking lots are pretty easy to park in. Parking assistance for parallel parking on the other hand would be MUCH more useful.
I have auto park on my Volvo V60 which works extremely well however I'm looking forward to getting my EV6 in November. But, I do have an issue with the fact that it bumps into the kerb, that's a fail in the UK. If you take your driving test in the UK, any time you hit the kerb (parking or 3-point turn, etc) that's an instant fail. 😞
It's also an instant fail in the US but I think that's a stupid rule. Once you pass the test no one is going to do anything about you bumping into curbs, and it doesn't harm anyone.
During outside remote parking, Do you hold the same backwards button when it's creeping forward or do you release or hold forward button? Do you hold ONLY the backwards button through??
Thank you for sharing, this is half hilarious because it turned this into 5 minutes of parking lol.
Tried Xpeng P7 , it was auto parking much faster. But I ended up buying an EV6 :) Great car.

Thanks for sharing you experience.
You do know that this feature has been available for years.
It's not just an EV thing.
Even my diesel Sportage has it.

Was really excited for this feature In the conceptual but in practice it's awful, better off doing it the way we have been for 100 years.

Remote parking is 1 button hold (read the screen) only going forward or backward is the button with arrow
Seems really slow and a lot of work, for an easy parking maneuver, not really impressed. But nicely car
Does it work without the parking guidelines drawn on the road?
I believe it does, but requests 2 cars to fit in between, because its ultrasonic sensor based and not vision (atleast thats what im thinking)
How to spend 10 embarrassing minuts 😅
No kidding right
Tesla does this
a renault zoe does this. atleast the autoparking
Not good smart parking from Kia
