    I'm going to try this and I'll let you know if it works. I have one autosomal match that has a haplogroup slightly upstream from my new Big-Y terminal SNP. I don't understand why he isn't a match on the STRs, but I'll give it a shot.

      I guess if it's an assignment it wouldn't be on the STR matches, ha It takes me awhile sometimes.

    Great strategy! Do you happen to know where FTDNA is on the Family Finder Haplogroup assignments? I'm waiting on a particular FF test which was taken in 2014. Thanks!

      They have been posting FF for 2015. Just be aware, a 2014 FF will have very upstream y-Haplogroup results.

      @@TheRIGHTTreeGenealogy Thank you. My more recent STR matches have moved from R-M269 to R-S1026 which is still 4500 years old. I'm hoping for the same with this 2014 FF test. I guess I'll find out in a couple of months.
