Would be nice to see squid that size on the west side of ppb. Most the squid are only around 100-250gms

Possibly a dumb question... why have the running float and then a running sinker then the squid hook? i get that the sinker will hold the bait and hook down at the bottom but why the float? or do you have another swivel or something further up t he line to stop the float going to far up? sorry i clearly dont get it. can someone explain to me plz?
You can use another swivel further up or even a piece of tape just to stop the float going so far. Basically you only want the float running so far otherwise your bait will go to far down. I guess you don't need the ball sinker on top of spike on the kayak but casting from beach it helps launch it

yesterday in Sydney I let off a 50 cm southern calamari. I was using pilchard. we got it to the jetty and when we put it in the net it raced out :(
