Such beautiful stitching. I so enjoy your videos not only seeing your handiwork but you are a pleasure to listen too. I look forward to seeing your roses on your sewing box. Thank you for sharing your work s
That was a nice, long vlog with many & varied projects. I particularly like the September Sunflowers & the Marjolein Bastin Wildflowers. The sewing box would look wonderful with the rose stitching added to it. I also stitch in hand & lately, after years & years going across, I have started stitching up & down & prefer that.
I laughed out loud when you said if you have to do something you don’t want to do it! 😁I so understand. Oh the red and black piece is so striking! I love your floral projects, thank you for sharing your beautiful work! 🪡🧵☮️🌻
Thank you for another great episode. Your stitching is so lovely and your voice so soothing. Love your plans for the sewing box…just wish there was something closer to a finish to use on the top. But that rose band is stunning! Enjoy your holiday!
Thank you so much! The rose band sampler has been started and I am flying through it. So it won't take nearly as long as I anticipated. Wishing you a lovely week. Happy stitching
Since I’m over 40% Scottish I ordered the Royal Albert cup and saucer and the salad plate to use for my tea time. I wouldn’t have known about them if I hadn’t been following your floss tube.
I think you should make it into a Pillow because it will show the pattern better than a Biscornu. Those baskets are so beautiful. On your Spring Sampler maybe think of changing the Moon to a light blue or a light gray. I think it would balance it out a little more. That is just my opinion. Your projects are so beautiful. I also work on 16-count & 18-count aida and next month I will start my Summer Quaker on 20- count aida for the first time so I am excited to try my hand at that. I am going to try it with 2 strands of floss. I have never worked with 1 strand and it looks hard to do. Hope you have a great vacation. Happy Stitching.
Oh good luck on your 20 ct. I am loving 20 ct but do find that I prefer one strand rather than 2 even though that can come out a bit light. Hope you'll enjoy working on it! Happy stitching
Absolutely gorgeous projects. I love how you are very intentional in your stitching. I like the idea of making your squares into a biscornu. I hope you enjoy your time away from work, and get to travel. ❤
That sewing box will be a real treasure after you refurbish it, especially with the beautiful rose patterns you have planned. Looking forward to seeing your progress. Enjoy your upcoming vacation!
Awesome episode. I especially like the last piece you are stitching. Changing the little cabin and the fence to blue adds so much to the piece. Enjoy your vacation!
So glad to see you. How lovely to have a long holiday with so many wonderful plans! I enjoyed seeing all of the projects you’ve been stitching on. I too am going to stitch the rose sampler now that it’s available in pdf and I look forward to seeing how you finish the sewing box. Sounds like a fun project. Enjoy your time off.
So great to hear you are also starting the rose band sampler. I have already started and am flying through it. I love it! Do let me know how you are finding it! Happy stitching
This is my first time watching your video, and I enjoyed it very much. Your pieces are beautiful, flowers are a gorgeous subject to stitch. Enjoy your holiday!
Your stitching is beautiful. I love your different WIPS. I would make a pillow for try on the modern folk design. There is so much detail that would not show on a history. You might like to use bees wax on your sewing box, it might bring it back to life. Thank you for sharing, love your soothing voice!
Lovely video, beautiful stitching, the gnomes I also find adorable and have almost all of those patterns (but haven't stitched them yet), a lot of progress, thank you for sharing, have a great holiday! Zsófi
Beautiful stitching! I enjoyed seeing it all. When you mentioned the Olympic gnome pattern I was thinking of Brenda The Handwork Maniac too. I don't do many stitch-a-longs either for the same reasons you mentioned, it just seems like I have to stitch it instead of want too. I am participating in the birdhouse SAL that Brenda shares on her Flosstube. 1 birdhouse a month is manageable, but after 10 months I am ready not to have to get it out each month. My husband was in The Netherlands for work earlier this month and did go to Ghent. I am hoping if he goes over there again I can go with him and I can check out that shop. He said the weather is much cooler than where we are in Memphis, Tennessee, but he still wanted a ceiling fan or air conditioning and many of the places he was in didn't have that. He also went to Belgium. He brought back a box of Neuhaus chocolates. Incredibly amazing. Highly recommend.
I love the birdhouse pattern and may do it at some point, but do understand it may be quite a lot each month! Belgian chocolates is such a weakness of mine 😉. Hope you will get to go to Gent one day and enjoy that shop. I havent been yet, but hopefully will be able to go in a few weeks. Happy stitching
I so enjoy your videos Hanneke! I love seeing all your beautiful WIPs but my very favourite at the moment is the red and black piece - it is stunning!! I wish I had known about the needlework shop in Ghent. I was staying in Brussels a few weeks ago and we had a day trip to Ghent! I didn’t see the shop but would have tried hard to find it if I’d known - maybe on another occasion!
Oh that is is such a shame, to have missed the shop on your visit. Luckily Gent is worth visiting for many reasons 😀, such a lovely city! Are there any cross stitch shops in Brussels worth visiting?
All of your pieces are lovely; I enjoy seeing your changes - I think we like similar color balance in our work. For the square pieces you showed, I think you would be fine doing them as a biscornu; I don't feel that you would lose much of the design at all. They would be lovely pillows also, but I've found that I enjoy the process of making a biscornu and seeing how it comes into the finished shape. 🪡👠
Fijn, dat je weer opgeknapt heb. Prachtige projecten.
Happy stitching
My vote is the biscornu as you said you wanted to make one. You can always stitch again on a larger count fabric to make a pillow, or perhaps a small for a dough bowl!?!
Yes Hanneke I don't take part in SALs as I don't enjoy feeling pressured when I want to stitch on my choice. Now my finger's in a splint for weeks I've had to become a monogamous stitcher in order to get a Golden Wedding Anniversary Sampler stitched in time! It's so frustrating seeing everyone showing their progress on WIPs!! Thanks for showing a map. On a school holiday we crossed from Harwich to the Hook of Holland and travelled by train to Salzburg. A few years later I was stationed in Germany and occasionally got a train for a day in Venlo or Roermond. People were so friendly. I don't wash my pieces until I finish but found recently when I had to unpick some red lettering using a random dyed American thread on the linen fabric that it's left a mark and warns on the thread card that the colours may run so I'm trying to keep it clean but admit it's taken the pleasure out of the piece for me but I've got a lot done so don't want to begin again. I'm more inclined to use the DMC suggested than called for threads originally used. Enjoy your holidays 😊
So sorry about your finger being in a splint. Must be so frustratie to not be able to stitch the way you want to. Sending you some virtual hugs! Colors bloeding is one of my biggest fears. Usually I use DMC so that should be ok... wishing you a speed recovery!
Happy stitching
I always say this but it's true. Lovely stitching and beautiful projects! I recently became acquainted with Brenda the Handworkmaniac and love her varied projects including the gnome Olympics. She is the one who introduced me to Jadin Prive. Such beautiful designs. Brenda has also been showing progress on her piece called Kingdom of Books. She has shown it on her Flosstube #126 and mentions that even though it's a Russian pattern, the books are from the Netherlands. Her friend translated the book titles from Russian to English. Anyway, as I was thinking about mentioning it to you I went to Etsy and found the pattern on sale for $2.42 USD so I bought it. I wanted to tell you about it but now I suddenly own it. 🙃😄
Oh I love that project. The colors are so beautiful and it is just a piece of art. I am so tempted... but it is a big piece and I already have quite a few big projects. But it js beautiful. Are you going to start it soon?
@@adutchstitcher I feel the same way. It's big and beautiful but I have plenty of large projects going. But now I have the pattern and maybe one day I will just know it's time to give it a go. You know how it is. 😉
I love biscornus. Do put it together as there is a magic when it is stitched together together. It’s. Not had just be careful about finding the middles and stitching around the corners .

Have been for years but I do not collect it; I just admire it from afar! LOL!! Hope you’re enjoying your holiday!! ❤️
