A/C Compressor Shaft Seal Installation Tips

This video shows the installation of lip type shaft seals. Seals that install from behind the cylinder head require head removal. Front loading seals can be replaced without removing the cylinder head. For demonstration we show both types already removed from the compressor body. Remember to always use mineral oil when preparing and installing new seals.

Hi, I'm looking to buy a reseal kit on your site for my Delphi HD6 compressor. When I disassembled the compressor it didn't have the top and bottom round gaskets over the flap plates. Do they come without the gaskets from the factory? Do I need to install those gaskets now? Thank you very much.

I installed a Denso brand new compressor and it started leaking from the shaft after 2 weeks... Sent it back and installed another same Denso new and it also started leaking in 2 weeks .. Is there something wrong I did ..Can you tell me why a new compressor/seal leaking ?

High head pressure from restrictions in the condenser,office tube, or expansion valve on foreign vehicles. A manifold gauge set will give you a definite direction,
