As a former homeschooling and work-from-home mom, I think it’s very important for our kids to see all that goes into our days. My 11 year old now will often say, “I see you’re busy doing _______. If I help, would you have time for a bike ride?” I honestly know that is from previous younger years of me implementing those behaviors. Kids need to see that we have tasks that have to be completed before we play.

So very true!!!! My 7 year old will say “being a mom is hard work!” And while it makes my heart a little sad, it also is very true! I would much rather my girls know what being a mom is really like than idealize it and be slapped in the face with reality when they become moms!

Love the reminder to set a time aside for yourself. Lately I have been so busy that I am staying up too late and sacrificing my sleep just to get some alone time to do what I want to do. Whether it be being productive, researching something, watching TV, etc.

I don’t blame you! I may have stayed up over an hour past my bedtime to finish a book last week and still had to get up at 4 - I regretted that!

LOVE the idea of learning while multi-tasking!!! I have so many "research" things I want to get to but can't find the time during the day. This is a great solution!! 👏👏👏

Since your last video, I have been aiming for more scheduled downtown in the evening. It is so hard having one's own business (my Montessori school is built off my home and really difficult for me to stop going in there in the evening....) And with older children who stay up past me, it is hard to work in that quiet/alone/partner time but I'm working on it. Thanks again for the inspiration.

I totally get it!!!! The separation is SOOO hard but that time for yourself is so worth it!

I love this! Thank you. I am not homeschooling my kids though but with an incoming baby this will surely help me to get it all done as well as allow myself to have time to do nothing.

Do you have videos talking about how and what you use to edit your videos?

I loved this one! So helpful! Thank you for sharing! I’ve been meaning to get some type of “busy bins” put together or just activities the kids can do alone, while I focus on work, so I’m excited for that video to come out!!

Thank you for the ideas. As I was watching your video I noticed the section where you were doing your nails. Can you show the materials you used to do this? Maybe in a video. Thank you.

I’m just trying to work and mom at the same time and it’s so hard. This summer we are trying to get outside a lot. Do you ever work outside?

How do you get up at 4am?! What time do you usually go to sleep? I feel like if I don’t get a certain # of hours of sleep at night I really feel it in the morning when I’m getting up 😩 I’m struggling just to get up by 6am how do you do it!

I do just fine off 7 hours of sleep. I go to bed at 9

How did you manage waking up so early when your kids are babies and toddlers? Did you sleep train?

    • @HomeschoolGlue

When my two older daughters were babies and toddlers, I was a daycare provider to ten total kids from 7am-5pm so we had early mornings anyway. All my kids have always been early to bed and early to rise.

How do you keep things motivated? I tried to wake up at six and failed 😭 What's a good sleep schedule for kids and yourself to wake up at 4 am?

    • @HomeschoolGlue
      @HomeschoolGlue  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Honestly, just knowing I have to provide an income for my family is very motivating 🤣 I don’t know when else I would do the work I do in the early mornings if I slept in more because I have no energy left at night. My kids are in their rooms at 7:30 - sometimes they fall asleep right away, sometimes they listen to audiobooks or play for a while and then fall asleep later. They all are super early risers but they aren’t allowed to come out of their rooms to start the day until 6:15/6:30. So I go to bed at 9 and wake up at 4. This gives me an hour and a half at night to myself and 2 hours if I actually get up right at 4 and don’t linger before I need to get read and get the girls up
