Good day sir, did you happen to use any of the loop calculators on line? And what is your leg lengths for each leg? What is the over all size of the diameter of the octagon? As for your diy capacitor, it’s hard to tell from the video but is it just two aluminum plates stacked on top of each other separated by the plexiglass? And is the tuning knob just basically bending the the one plate towards the other? Lots of questions. I have experimented with some loops and have used air variable capacitors and a variety of coupling loops too.
Each leg is 15" it makes come out 37.5" on the side the Cap is like a big trimer cap it's 2.5 by 5.5 long 20 to 240 pf I will in the next video show how to make the tuning Cap.
Use large diameter for the conductor, at least 1/24 the diameter of the loop or you could have a lot of transmit power loss due to high current resistance losses, AKA IR loss. These antennas should not have such small diameter tubing unless just for receive, not if you want high efficiency. Large diameter copper pipe is expensive, you could use PVC pipe with aluminum or copper tape on it as the conductor, the skin effect won't use all of the thickness of the tape anyway.
