i think its so cool that they didnt just leave this storyline here! Like they brought it up multiple times, he became a drug addict to deal with the back pain he git after being stabbed and went to rehab, then came back and almost relapsed, went to africa, got a kidney infection in his kidney that was injured during the stabbing snd went on dialysis and its just wild that they kept up with this plot bc so many shows will just cut if off and move on but like these are very real scenarios that can happen!
Completely agree. This is one of the reasons he's my favorite character. Carter is a great example of a realistic and imperfect human being who has a lot of character development thrue out the show. Hes really smart but doesn't always make the right choices which makes him relatable.
I love that kind of demeanor- the way she just lowers her voice and talks so calmly and gently to him…. And she sounds so interested and understanding…I do think Carter is self-conscious and somewhat insecure about admitting he is in pain -1 because he still hasn’t coped with Lucy being gone 😔

He is in pain, shouldn't have been back so soon. And he is showing signs of PTSD. Noah Wyle did such a wonderful job.
He flinches every time someone approaches from the back. Man I gotta watch this show
That level of awareness about trauma responses waaay back when this was airing is crazy. The show was so far ahead of its time.
Man they just do not give Carter a break this entire series. That stabbing changed him forever.
