Floyd must have sparred this bag to prepare for canelo. The bag is just like him, big, heavy and no foot work.

Those 20 ounce gloves does absolutely nothing to his speed. Which an amazing task in itself let alone he keeps punching. That's so hard. If you never put those gloves on you wouldn't understand. Floyd you're a beast. Period
first of all winning don't make 20 oz gloves, and those gloves are winning. And I think they 16 oz not more or less then that..
I love technical fighters. You can actually learn from them.

This workout is 30 minutes so for each opponent the bag routine is different, so for Canelo the bag was heavier the gloves are heavier and the routine is longer sheer genius.

The reason Floyd hits the bag lightly is for accuracy and to get used to punching correctly all the time that's why he's so accurate when he punches and by punching it hard all your going to do is end up hurting you're wrists and I know this because I box myself

when you hit the heavy bag you use bigger gloves for speed and smaller for strength those by the looks are 20oz gloves im a boxer myself so I can tell that when he slips on those 8oz gloves to fight hes gonna be throwing some monster punches

You have to mix up the strength of each punch.... When you hit a fighter with the same punch they tend to brace themselves for certain punches... Now when u hit a fighter with soft and hard punches, it keep the fighter of balance a little bit

interesting point on the issue of brain/mental fatigue, because the late Emanuel Steward once pointed out that one of Mayweather's greatest strength's is his ability to stay focused in late rounds, i.e., mental endurance...

Being rocked and being knocked down are 2 different things. Floyd has been rocked on several occasions. I never said Canelo was never rocked, I said he was never knocked down.
It's no secret just newly gained knowledge for anyone who didn't know beforehand.
With all the work he put in, I truly understand why he was upset with himself for not giving Canelo an even bigger hellafied Ass whooping. He really did take it easy on Canelo. That was for him to have really hurt Canelo and to have even dropped him because believe me, he could have STOPPED Canelo if he wanted to. And I’m not hating on Saul, but these are different levels of passion, dedication and smarts.

He's basically putting himself in situations (mentally) that would occur in the ring when a fight happens. so he moves around and sets up shots (upper body, lower body) and sometimes you see him get really close to simulate a situation when they are in a phone booth style of exchange and he pops off shots that way. It's about mentally preparing yourself for situations as opposed to just throwing punches at a bag. good stuff. the uneducated ones think he's just pitty patting. but he's doing work!
It keeps him sharp and small muscle fibers strong without wearing out his muscles with big punches.
36 years old? his punches are sometimes to quick even for the camera to catch!!! lol pure description on how to hit a bag.

hes using 16 ounces but those are winning gloves to protect his hand.. winning has the most support and cushioning, that's why they look bigger.
you never know i mean canelo could adjust to floyds speed with good timed counter punches. If that happens we are in for a great fight... i still think the undercard is a bigger fight.
he never fully extends cuz short punches are the hardest to see...its where the myth that "the hand is quicker than the eye" comes from straight/shorter punches are harder to avoid...and wide 1s seen from peripherals are easier to see
its why the main punches Floyd uses are the straight, jab, left hook and right uppercut when going to the head...those punches leave him open the least

well its not hard 2 hit a heavy bag and making it move its hard when you Pop the heavy bag and make it move which he's doing here thats when you know theres power in your punch you dont just punch all the way through when you are heavy bag training

The hardest part of this exercise is when Floyd throws the straight punches. That is extremely difficult to do for 3 minutes. Your arm gets tired and weary.

I'm thinking 18 could be 20 but a 200+lbs heavy bag. Plus he does long ass rounds... short breaks. Beacuase of this kind of training, and the fact that Canelo has had issues with conditioning in late rounds is why I think the possibility of a Mayweather TKO/KO is more likely than most people think, although I'm still picking FM by UD! Did you see Floyd v Cotto, v Mosley, they were both ready to go, but Floyd holds back, safety first.
He normally uses 16oz gloves on the heavy bag but these look slightly bigger. I'd say either 16oz or 18oz.
