I've always loved Bastila. She WANTS so badly to be the calm, hyperfocused Jedi Master she pretends to be, but just can't help herself sometimes. That last clip with her actually Force Pushing Mission only to then be like "and please, do try to be less clumsy in the future." is peak Bastila and I love it.
That's one of my favorite little exchanges in the game. I love how even in breaking character and letting herself do something silly for a moment she still just casually plays it off as formally as ever.
Exactly I loved that scene whenever I’d watch it. It made me like bastila more and more

I'm sad I never saw the mission one, that was downright hilarious
They have to keep the character dynamics in the remake for the game to be successful
In my opinion just the remake existing is enough for me as long as its true to the og you know how many characters become canon with that game theres the kotor one characters theres the Sith Lords of Korraban that become canon theres Meetra Surik that becomes canon easily worth it however if they ruin my childhood game and or change any single thing about the characters or even their backstory imma be fuming
To make the remake be successful they need to take the same exact dialogue word for word the same story and choices and everything… but make updated graphics and actual gameplay instead of RTwP crap.
@@BruceWayne-fj9bm they actually will be since my friend pointed out its a remaster not a remake which is pretty much just an enhanced version meaning better graphic audio and more content pretty sure thats how it worded it he did for a fact say better graphics audio and more content but I don remember how he worded it past that
@@BruceWayne-fj9bm also what you call "actual gameplay" is very subjective since last time i checked even dragon age origins was successful and it uses the same d&d dice mechanics that the KOTOR games do and ik if they change that we og finna grab our torches and pitchforks

Gotta love that she's walking around Taris at all given the fact that the Sith are on that planet specifically to look for her. If she can't walk around on Korriban she shouldn't be able to do it here.
Graphics might advance over time, but good dialogue will always stay good dialogue.
Just mod the graphics.

man the voice actress for mission has really improved on her skills since KOTOR
I knew her voice as amidala was recognizable but I didn't know for the longest time til about two or three years ago she had voiced mission back in KOTOR

I love teasing her when she talks about our "bond" but words it badly,and slips up that she has feleling for the player's character

Bastila does have a few iconic lines that aren't easily forgotten. " The Jedi do not believe in killing their prisoners. No one deserves execution, no matter what their crimes." and " What greater weapon is there than to turn an enemy to your cause? To use their own knowledge against them?" at least one of them can be heard prior to the infamous plot twist of the game through interacting with her as a party member.
Wasn't she also turned to the dark side like.... super fast by Malak?
@@gronthgronth2628 She was tortured in a place highly concentrated in the dark side. She was lucky it was Malak, Revan liked to throw his prisoners onto Malkor 5 and they either broke or became horrifying monsters
@@gronthgronth2628 In context of the game it's possible she endured days if not weeks of being subjected to Force Lightning by Malak while Revan and friends were going through Korriban.

So many cool charectors from the Knights of the Old Republic really wished they would do alot more with these amazing characters!! Another game set in the Old Republic would be awesome!! Or even a movie or series it definitely deserves to be done with so many cool charector & many fans of them already!!
There's a remake of Kotor coming out soon-ish. Might not be what you'd expect though..
Kotor remake soon. Better graphics, easier gameplay and a re-write of the problematic story and characters from the originals. Expect major political virtue signaling and trump references.
Teasing Bastila is part of the fun.
She has the ego of a Jedi… which why she fell to the dark side so quickly after she was captured.
She fell because she very clearly had trouble with the Jedi teachings.

There's a possibility that Meetra knew both Revan and Bastilla, or at least has met them at some point. It'd be like a teacher finding out her coleague and ex student are dating.
Accroding to Bastila, she knew Revan before he left for the Mandalorian wars, so arguably she knew Meetra too, she simply was younger than both of them and probably the annoying little padawan fangirling over the Revanchist.
This is the ridiculing of heroism that began in the late 1980s reaching an early peak in the 1990s.
Today we have similar stuff, but usually far more mean-spirited.
In the past we'd have had heroes with a flaw, now we must accept continuous ridicule of them for standing out from the mass. A shame.
KOTOR is one of my most beloved games in my life. I swear if they screw up this remake I'll never forgive them. It has the scary potential to stain KOTOR's legacy just like the sequel trilogy did the movies. I honestly would be much more excited if it was just a remaster.

Original always will exist. Unless they delete it after creating Kotor remastered it has zero impact on it.

I have to wonder, how CAN a Jedi lose their lightsaber? Given how they form a spiritual and mental bond with the crystal(s) they obtain on Illum, you'd think that their heightened force senses would given them a built-in compass to their Lightsaber's location should they be seperated from it without the kyber crystal being destroyed. This I believe was also the reason why Sith usually created synthetic crystals for their lightsabers, as they're not like other kyber crystals and thus much harder to sense with the force.
She probably didn't want to admit she was either out cold or had a Jedi brainfart.
I think it's similar to when you know you keys or wallet are in the room but you can't find it, sometimes we get so focused on finding something we become blind to seeing that exact thing
All that's new Disney lore. Back when KOTOR came out, lightsaber crystals didn't have nearly as much spiritual weight. There was no force bond, it was just a component that made the blade work and gave it its color. Illum was the traditional location the old Jedi order went to get them and the caves of Illum could cause visions, but the Illum crystals themselves weren't that special (and weren't called kyber crystals). Meanwhile Luke's students used just about any kind of crystal they could get their hands on, often stones culturally significant on the individual jedi's homeworld, random ones found on Yavin 4, or even synthetic crystals and they worked just fine.
That outfit Bastila's wearing is an absolute eyesore... and Carth looks way too young to be the father of a 17/18 year old son. Sorry...

@@DarkLOREDash : Actually I like the original textures better than those. There’s even a mod that activates an original but unused face for Carth that makes him look older and sadder, like the traumatised war veteran he is. Fits his character story better, but makes him less attractive as a love interest for a female PC.

KOTOR & SWTOR are about 300 years apart, so Bastila is Satele's ancestor (assuming a generation is 20-25 years, probably her 10x or 11x great-grandmother).
