You really should consider mounting a winch on that trailer….. hand cranking stuff on a trailer like that will make a young man into an old man very quickly
Hello, LT! Hope all is well with family and the shop.
Imagine a c10 body of sorts on the AWD truck chassis. Parts are plentiful and it would be super unique.
I'm doing something similar. 20 years ago I put an 8.1 in my 91 square body crew cab dually and I recently acquired a PSI 8.8 that I'm going to do raylar heads and the Whipple supercharger and replace the 4L80 with a 6L90
2 suggestions for the 535 body. Grave Digger, or a Caddy hearse.
I like that you tune the 4.3l, I would love to see more what that 4.3l can do.. Put a turbo on that. Or something else. But not that i don't like the idea of ls swap it i think that's even better but i think it would be cool to see what this 4.3l can do before you put an ls in there.
Right at the end LT had the look of “I’m not gonna financially recover from this” on his face. 😂😂😂
Small block is best for the S-10 project. Big Block for drag racing, small block for slalom course.
High revving LS for slalom*
I have been waiting FOREVER for to get back on the drag truck! I love watching builds from the ground up!
For something interesting, a gen V LT 4.3 would be interesting. There’s some guys getting close to 700 HP out of them.
The lv3 is a great engine
4.3 would be sweet
I remember him saying he didn't wanna do a 4.3 cause he didn't like the sound. I agree tho ,4.3 is cool
I agree but as stated he shot that down. Was hoping he'd do that instead of the ol LS swap he planned on. Oh well
Would love to see the changes you can make to a stock engine to get the most out of it, using HP tuner
The BB in full size truck body all wheel drive with a Wipple gen6 3.0L should put you in the 9s maybe 8s without all the cluster F of exhaust system for 2 turbos if ya can get hooked. Keep the content coming!
Should have kept the 4.8 truck. A RCSB is what this chassis should be.
The 4.3 throttle blade has a built in "scoop" on it to restrict air flow. Remove it and you'll gain a tad more at WOT.
Really enjoying the S10 content! Have you given any thought to the idea of converting it to a 6L80?
I’ve wondered that myself. I think it’s just cheaper and easier to do a 4L80 and he’s much more familiar with them. I’ve got a 6L80 in my aluminum 5.3L swapped ‘55. It’d be interesting to compare it against a similar setup with a 4L60, but I’m really happy with the 6L80.
4l80s are cheaper, but this build doesn't seem to be overly concerned with that. And with the Pro-Touring concept he has stated for it, it would seem to me the 6L80 would be a better fit. But then again, I could be wrong.
i love how larry says over 500hp the bottom end will blow up
the LV1 is the gen v 4.3L, and can approach 400 bhp with simple mods. They're several hundred dollars at the scrap yard.
EQ makes more sense. An engine pumps a certain amount of air, and you need to add more or less fuel. AFR is backwards. when you want to add fuel, you take away AFR.
Could put a 350 pro charger kit on the 4.3 it's bolt on pretty much
Put a GMT400 body on the new truck?
Im watching this as I have the same 4.3 in my Blazer. Also the same year.
fiberwerx full carbon fiber shell for the race truck.. might even come already wide enough for the rear slick. just adapt it to be for a drag truck instead of a pre runner.
Suggestion.
Instead of finding a body for the 4*4 truck frame just get a floor pan and build a tubular shell , roll cage to fit panels that mimic the Tesla cyber truck.
This would be one of the ultimate trolls possible.😂
great update, thanks
Can't wait to see this big block all together!!! Thanks for the update LT!!
Would be really cool too put a silverado SS body on that frame or just get the cladding and bumpers from one and use a regular body and what not
SS body with 00-02 HD front clip would look awesome! No cateye😅
Would you consider shortening the frame for a standard cab-short box?
I think that was a mistake that he made when buying that frame. He bought it to use on the Ugly Truck but then decided to just build another truck. He would have been better off buying a regular cab short bed truck. That would be lighter than the extended cab truck.
@@beetlebuilder5882He can modify the frame. There was a truck tech episode that had it but LT wasn't there at the time.
@@ericbrenner690 yes he could shorten it to use a regular cab (I have done that myself) and that would make sense to do but he created more work for himself. He should have just started with a complete regular cab from the start.
My 4.3 ran better after changing rockers/valves springs and headers. Custom tune. Went from 3.42 to 3.73 added CalTrax and corvette servo. Ran really good for a v6
6.2 bottom with LT heads and a torquestorm blower for the S10😏😏
I'd love to see a LT1 swap into it. I personally haven't seen many of those
What would be ideal if you could find a truck that you could use the motor in the S10 input the body on four-wheel drive drag truck project
186 👍's up LT thank you for sharing 😊
I've been tuning my 5spd s10 Blazer with LS Droid. Free tuning software. Cool stuff.. I've used it for my LS swaps too
Dang I just found you and was excited you was in Utah as I’m in Utah as well. Then I found this video where I learned you were in CO. Congrats on the shop by the way
Your 8.1L videos have been awesome, and I’m learning a lot. I have an early 70s Camaro I’m putting the 8.1 into that should handle boost 1100hp. Wanted to be unique. Got the bottom end done and I am about to do the top end and camshaft. Was hoping you’d dyno it when it was ready.
Lsa S-10 is my vote
Love all the chevy builds bud got my attention/ support watching for sure 😊
How about the Colorado 2.7? It's an atlas 4 cylinder you could turbo and keep weight down. 600 hp in the s10 with a turbo 4 sounds like a riot to me and unique
I would love to see the lt heads on the ls btr makes the intake and cam now
Just sayin'... now would be an ideal time to shorten that frame and build a RCSB instead.
Not sure if you ever finalized your transmission for the 535 build yet. But, hoping whatever you choose - aftermarket case. Like a Reid 4L80E
Whats the Conversion for EQ ratio to AFR?
Enjoying these builds, Need come and sweep the floors, Let me know. Actually would love your help on my K5
I love all of your build series that you've done. I plan on doing an Avalanche SS build inspired by what you've done. Planning on taking an Escalade AWD drive train and building the 6.0 and trans and putting them in ny 2003 Avalanche. Building the 6.0 into a 408 stroker and putting a set of twin turbos on it. Also want to put the truck on air bags. Goals are to have a very unique, AWD, OEM+ (stole that term from you LT lol) street truck that is fun to drive and can hurt feelings from time to time. Hopefully make a reliable 800-1000 horsepower. I have everything I need to get started except time lol
I don't if you you watch motor trend but they have a show called road kill they took a stock bottom 4.3l and put a powerstroke turbo on it they said it made 600hp at the wheels . They put it in a beat up Datsun 240z they called the rotsun.
I think a cateye body or a Colorado body should go on the 4x4 bigblock
GM protec box 🤞🏻
It'll be crazy to make the S10 1500hp with AWD
I'm like the direction you are taking the mkII syclone. Have you considered a yukon body on the 4wd frame? It's gonna be heavy either way at least this way your drag and drive stuff will be safer.
Go old school on the big block drag truck 69. 72. Thay look awesome and the after market sources are many.
I have a k&n intake for a 4.3l v6 S10 if you want it
WHAT THE!???!? I did NOT know that the COPO truck was sold.... I, for one, am hurt. haha Was it auctioned? would have been nice to know that was going on
If your sold on aluminum, how about an LS7? Fix the drop valve issue and stroke it out to 8L. Big block rat!
Would like to see some bolt ons on the 4.3 just to see what it’s capable of before the engine swap
Not much without forced induction. Even with very expensive 15 or 23 degree heads and everything to go with it he would be lucky to hit 300 crank.
Waited for the burnout attempt after the tune 😢
Here's a suggestion for the 4WD chassis. How about a Typhoon XL by using a Tahoe/Yukon body on it?
Why not swap LS 6.2 and keep the air ,power steering and brakes and the other factory options
Because he wants a big block
I have a Yukon xl with the 8.1 4x4. Looking to turbo it as well. Any recommendations?
Do they not chamfer the deck to unshroud the valves on that block? Is it just not necessary on that 535 combo?
Is it dyno time? Whatever you end up putting in we got to know what are base was.
Now is a big motor going in a S10 or Sonoma? 🏁🏁
Does it need leaning out in power enrichment I have just noticed on the full size trucks power enrichment just is basically non existent because it needs like 90%throttle and to be above 5000 rpm for 5 seconds so never activated
Can we see what the tune did for the v6?
Would love too see you put a LT in the S10!!!
Love following you along, but I’ve never skipped a video soooo much like I’ve done with this video.. not your greatest.. but I know you won’t fail on the next..👍
Progress is progress
Do you have an estimate HP rating for the built Big Block Chev NA?
*_How did you adjust to Colorado high altitude. I spent a week out there, and man, it just about killed me!!!_*
it wasnt too bad for me, I've lived at 5,000ft+ elevation for many years, but at first it def. took a second to acclimate
you should put a ls7 into the S10.
Whats up with the ls swapped jeep? Whens that gonna be done?
tuning.... and a turbo? :)
Let’s gooooo
I don't know if it's been mentioned but it would be interesting to see what power could be had on the 4.3 v6 by grinding off the restrictive wedge on the throttle blade.
I think it’s just part throttle feel that’s changed…. I cut that restrictor off my OBS V6 and it made it pretty jumpy off the line - it was hard to take off smoothly. I noticed the restrictor on my OBS suburban was like half the height of the V6, so I swapped TB’s and now both vehicles are perfect. My SCSB v6 truck isn’t jumpy off the line, but is more responsive with the short V8 restrictor plate, and my suburban with no restrictor plate feels great (too heavy to be jumpy off the line, but takes less pedal to get going).
I think it would be amazing if you made a few turbo kits (hot side) for the 8.1 and sold them. I think there’s a few of us that would love to do something different and put an 8.1 or have one already and want to add some power but don’t have the equipment or knowledge to build a hot side. Everything available is only for the 4.8,5.3 and 6.0 as you know
For the price of buying a custom hotside you can buy a hobart 140 welder and start learning yourself.
Ls1 or ls6 would be awsome
Regarding HP Tuners, I have the software and the credits, and I have a 2011 Malibu with the 3.6L VVT LY7.
Do you think that being FWD or having the VVT would make it harder to modify the tune?
All I would am hoping to do is get maybe 20-40 more HP out of it, or maybe a little more MPG when on Cruise Control. Nothing neck-snapping at all. After all, it's just a grocery-getter.
Put an eBay turbo kit on the s-10 daily 😂
Did you give up on the Mustang?
Put it under a suburban! I have a 2500 suburban with a 8100
I’ve got a clean cab and bed I’d be interested in doing some trading for!
Don’t get me wrong, a 6.2 in the s10 would be awesome. But wasn’t the goal to make it a gen 2 cyclone exactly how chevy would have made it? Chevy probably woulda kept the 4.3 in it exactly how the gen 1 was. I think if you found the limits you could built that 4.3 to I wouldn’t be the only one interested in seeing it.
You need an epic intro!
Am I the only one who wants to see a suburban body on the drag truck chassis😂
You should shorten that frame and drop a 2 door tahoe body on it
I know you already said no but I still vote Gen V 4.3 LV3
personally I wouldn't take any chances and go with a dry sump.
Please Share the Excell files :)
Not that expensive to tune... after you buy the $500 OBD2 connector/adapter from HP Tuners
Drop the bigblock in the s10!!!!!
Exactly huge motor in a lightweight S10 Perfect Choice
@@EDV8ZR1 He wants to be able to slalom race the S10. A big block in the nose of the S10 would be awful on a slalom course.
@@countryjoe3551 I was thinking more of the Drag Truck idea but okay
fixing speedometer is easy, get up 10 100mph, check gps, boom, there's your % correction lol
I was wondering how you "know" it's 1700 hp? It's not even fully assembled.
Head flow , cubes , cam size , cylinder pressure with boost and CFM flow of the turbos.
There's a few engineering suites out there that you can play with to find theoretical HP and torque.
I’m sure a lot of people that watch or used to watch you are like where’s the build stuff at ? It’s been a long time since you actually uploaded something worth any of my time. It’s like you have a shop we get it maybe don’t post about you walking around not doing anything and wait till you actually have something worth uploading?
Have you considered the vortec 4200 for the s-10?
VORTEC 4200 INLINE 6 FOR THE S10
What about the 4.2l I6 for the s-10?
Put a 350 chevy small block in it !
You should de-stroke the engine for the S10, and make it a screamer
Why not a LV3 for the S10?
Could be really cool and go back to your inline 6 turbo roots and put a 4200 vortec in the s10 with a turbo and make 600hp
Votes for s10 getting LV1 or LV3 4.3?
At PRI, there was an LT based inline 4. Do it. lol
I still think the s10 should be a turbo 6 like the cyclone and phoon. Just updated.
Go 4.1 Buick stroker turbo
