Before we understand what is in the filter, we will understand the filtration process. So the first thing you do when you buy an Aquarium Filter is the sponge that comes with the filter activated carbon please remove them. Carbon sponge is good for the marine tanks not for planted tanks. But what is required for the Planted Aquarium filter -
1. Filter pad - keep the media first and then add the filter pad.
2. Filter Media - use the most porous filter Bio media.

Bought an Aquarium for Gold fish 2 months back. Learning tremendously by watching your videos and grateful to you. I thoroughly ensure to change the water frequently, remove all waste ( not fully but replacement of water which has come out after cleaning - Quarter/ Half ). The Fishes have been extremely healthy and now grown also. Considering my first purchase, I went in for a Pre-fabricated aquarium with a top mounted manual sponge filter. Can I use ADA Bio Rio media underneath the sponge and does ADA also come with a bag as shown ? Please advise 🙏. Kind Regards

I use "the 2hr aquarist comprehensive planted aquarium supplement" in my planted aquarium.
I have HOB filter and I use some Chinese bio filter sponge. I also plan to use ceramic filter media.
My question is does this (the sponge and/or the other filter media) remove nutrients provided through above mentioned liquid supplement?
You need to provide the dosage according to your water capacity

Adding Activated carbon for a planted tank in the filter is not advisable as they will stop the action of the fertilisers effecting the plant growth

My canister filters intake is at the top and the water exits from the bottom. Pls suggest where the floss has to be kept and the bio media. The floss should be at the top and then below the bio media ? Pls suggest.
On the top and if there are trays inside, then on both the sides keep sponge

for example I have Filter with 2kg bio rio and my Filter is now leakage then i using other filter (hang on filter) and from previous filter i remove 2kg bio rio and fill 1kg bio rio in new filter now i have 1kg bio rio is left what to do? used bio rio is not use again after some time what to do?
You can use the bio rio in another filter, it will not spoil, dry it and keep it safe

As you might recall I shared I'm new to this hobby and I started with a small tank of 2 feet. Recently I got a steal deal to buy For 3* 4 feet aquarium...
I always want to decorate the aquarium but being new I hesitate in adding gravels, stone etc. Many friends tell me not to add anything and just keep water which I'm not willing to do as they look so dull with just a fish and airstone.
This big tank already has filteration at bottom of the tank with having black balls, filter floss , ceramic rings.... Need your guidance if I can add gravels, stone etc... I can share pic of all I have in my room for you to review and how difficult it's going to take care of it.... I'm comfortable for everything I need to do to make my fish healthy and live long... Watched many videos but I'm little confused on this one cause I don't want to mess up anything

Sir , Mine is 228 liter aquarium tank. I do not have plants. Mine is inside submerged filter which absorbs water and sends to other end of the tank outside water gets purified. (Do not exactly what we call this fliter) if I use bio Rio after cleaning if this releases nitrate, will it become more and as no plants , will this harm fish? My aquarium is minjiang model.. kindly suggest me.
