It's nice to see this again, I used to work there, from the design and construction of this dam, left halfway done when I went to Canada, that's 37 years ago. Where are my co workers before now, miss you guys.
Ed we were officemate then and worked with the NIA-Magat river multi purpose, dam aspect project. I usually visit this place whenever I have time since I now reside in Cavite. How nostalgic seeing the scenery especially during sunset and the water splashing forming like a spiral of rainbows at the spillway! We are very fortunate to have worked with this gigantic project completed in 1982.
I'm born to this place my house is 3km from magat dam such a relaxing place to chill and jugging here in the morning try visiting camp viscara aswell it's good ti relax and bonding place with friends and family.

A few years ago we had the opportunity to go inside because one of the engineers that works there was a good friend of my cousin. When we left the Philippines in 1981 it was not finished yet.
Guess what, NO wonder IAM aware of the magat dam. They start building the dam 3 years after we left Isabela. I checked the Google earth, you guys are right that place is beautiful. Something for me to see in the future.

The Magat Dam is only 15 minutes drive away from our place. We can drop by anytime if we want to. This Magat Dam was one of President Marcos's project during his presidency. It helped Isabela became supplier of rice nationwide. Thank you President Marcos. I wish you're alive to witness the outcome of your projects. We're very grateful for it. Ang mga Dam ay ginawa para pagkunan unang una ang Irrigation, drinking water, power supply. Pero ang nangyayari ay kung tag tuyot ay di makapag supply ng tubig para sa ating magsasaka. Power supply na dapat eh mura ang pagsingil sa electricity bill pero ano ang resulta taas ng taas ang electric bill. At inumin tubig na dapat eh makakainum ka direkta sa gripo nang malinis at ligtas pero ngayon bibili ka pa nang tubig sa water refilling station upang makainum ng fresh water. Sa mga Dam Management officials paki ayos ang trabaho ninyo di ba life and property ang nakasalalay at malaking pondo ng gobyerno ang nakataya dito na dapat napunta sa ibang proyekto. Kung ilang taong na kayong nagtratrabaho sa lugar na yan at sumasahod ng makaki at baka nga di ninyo naranasan maging ang inyong pamilya na bahain. Oh baka dapat na palitan na kayo ng mas bagito at punong puno ng makabagong kaalaman. Kung mayron kayong konsensiya lilisanin ninyo ang puwesto ngayon na. Paalala lamang. GOD BLESS

My dad used to work for Hydro Resources Corporation.. Those were the glory days. We settled there eventually.
Large part of the view you see here of the Magat Dam is actually in Sto. Domingo, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao which is sadly not being acknowledged.
