      No it’s still very impressive. Most of the other players receive similar treatment. I don’t think there is any player on the English team who didn’t attend a fee paying school

Privately educated students are no more talented than state-educated ones. I also said "this isn't so impressive". As in, relatively and comparatively it isn't. I know many people who play cricket who have the same passions and aspirations but they wont get anywhere because they cant afford to. Its what happens when you live in an elitist society.

      Very difficult to make it at the top level of any sport, he is actually quite sensible there as he is giving himself something to fall back on if he doesn't make it in cricket

      Outside of central contracts and IPL etc there isn’t that much money in playing professionally. What if he goes full pro at 18 and then suffers a serious injury at 21. I think this is a sensible decision for him.

Secondly if he doesn't go to university and spot doesn't work for him what's he got to fall back on? In life you have to give yourself options because if you only focus on one thing and it doesn't work out for ythen you have nothing to show for your hard work
