No it’s still very impressive. Most of the other players receive similar treatment. I don’t think there is any player on the English team who didn’t attend a fee paying school
@@lukeoconnell5216 The last sentence of that message proves it all. Private education buys you everything. If state education was as invested in to there wouldn't be such inequalities. Privately educated students are no more talented than state-educated ones. I also said "this isn't so impressive". As in, relatively and comparatively it isn't. I know many people who play cricket who have the same passions and aspirations but they wont get anywhere because they cant afford to. Its what happens when you live in an elitist society.

Very difficult to make it at the top level of any sport, he is actually quite sensible there as he is giving himself something to fall back on if he doesn't make it in cricket
Outside of central contracts and IPL etc there isn’t that much money in playing professionally. What if he goes full pro at 18 and then suffers a serious injury at 21. I think this is a sensible decision for him.
@@henrybird2297 I agree. As I already said it can be difficult to make it at the top level of sport and there are many things that can stop you so very sensible to give himself something he can possibly fall back on if the sport doesn't work out for him
I mean,.. Sport is Sport. There are no guarantees. But if he's getting attention, he could really use some encouragement, maybe attend a few camps and strike it lucky! Uni is a guarantee of a shit job and a 9-5 till 65. Or he could be really clever who knows. Byt even then, there are dreams goddamnit. Looks like he's out-sensibled by his mum or dad.
@@viklondon3466 First of all lots of people go off to university and get good jobs, the problem is that some don't put in the effort afterwards. Secondly if he doesn't go to university and spot doesn't work for him what's he got to fall back on? In life you have to give yourself options because if you only focus on one thing and it doesn't work out for ythen you have nothing to show for your hard work
