You are indeed a man of your word, Colin! Thanks for the service, the useful downloads, and videos with great tips always well explained at a nice gentle pace.
Different file formats, because other applications may only support certain file formats and not others, or have bugs in their support for cerrtain file formats.
Hi Colin, thank you for all your videos mate. Quick question, I logged into PSC and clicked on freebies to look at your luts, but it is still asking me to sign up, any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated
Hi Colin, Is it possible to create a 'LUT' whereby the primary base colours of Red, Green, and Blue can be based on different shades of each base colour? For example, red becomes coral red, green becomes lime green, and blue becomes pale sky blue. The idea is that the whole image is based on a slightly different set of RGB values. I hope this is clear. Thanks, Geoff
i'm fully aware that it's impossible to compare CS6 to the newest versions but I will ask anyway - is CS6 still good enough in 2021 mainly for graphic design?
I'm actually wanting to do a LUT to tonemap HDR to SDR in OBS Studio. It's specifically for recording and/or streaming PC games which support HDR. Attempting to record an HDR game as is without a lut applied in OBS makes the image washed out and look like crap.
3D LUTs are files that can be used in other applications, including many not from Adobe. Presets can only be used in a few Adobe applications. Also, 3DLUTs can include a LOT of adjustments (I've seen some with dozens of color tweaks) into a single effect - which a preset cannot do. Actions could do the same thing, but aren't portable and still leave you with a lot of adjustment layers.
How would one create a LUT that doesn't lend a tint but actually changes the interpretation of colors? Would one do a selective color adjustment during the creation of the LUT?

As usual, clear and to the point. Great
So cool thank you 😊
Fab tutorial, clear and concise - thanks!
What is the difference between a 3D LUT and a Cube or, indeed the other varieties, please?

Can you add your own LUTs from desktop into PS ? Great video too, very informative ...

@@chriscoxadobe Thanks a lot for the explanation!
Thanks for the great tutorial! How do you use in - or bring LUTs into - Lightroom? That’s where I’d like to use them as Profiles. Thanks in advance!
I did a video on that a while back, if you look on my channel here you will find it
@@photoshopcafe ok, thanks!

You can use any Adjustment layer in a LUT, selective color will work.
Literally ANY adjustment layer, including Channel Mixer, and other 3DLUTs...
@@chriscoxadobe ha ha. Try it and see what works, this is just a basic video on making LUTs, not an exhaustive study on adjustment layers.
for whatever reason when i try to load my LUT in the photo gets an x-ray effect no matter what i do. followed this to a T. have any idea why?
"You" or "Your"?
I can't type to save myself, thanks for the "subtle" nudge lol
