I think it’s because she’s mainly in shock. She was a pirate her entire life, and up to a few minutes ago she had no idea that she was a princess. Her whole life changed right literally on the spot, and she doesn’t really know how to react. She’s absorbing everything that she just learned. But true, she also does feel guilty about what Link and Aryll went through.

There are multiple scenes before this one that hint at her being a big softy deep down. Specifically the Bomb Shop and Rescuing Aryll cutscenes. Also, Zelda is sassy as hell at the end of the game when confronting Ganondorf. She even gets slapped in the damn face by his TRIFORCE HAND and keeps on fighting like a badass. Confirming that while she grew a lot as a person and accepts her massive destiny, she still loves being a hardy pirate and chooses to keep it that way.

I remember when I first played this when the music hit at 4:32 I got kind of choked up because I will never forget playing my first Zelda game as a kid, A Link To the Past on the SNES. Such a memorable iconic opening. Great memories
I have no idea why but this is my favorite part of any game I have ever played! When I was young I had been “playing” this game for years. I was too young to beat anything but one day I finally made it this far and it was amazing! Wind Waker is my favorite game ever! I love This game so much! I actually cried at the end when I beat it and link and Tertra where leaving! I also cried when Minda left and broke the mirror in Twilight Princess and I cried when Fi left in skyward sword!

My one complaint about this scene is that after Boaty (King Hyrule for the uncultured) puts back the missing Triforce of Wisdom piece and that Link to the Past (which I grew up playing) theme plays, it doesn't sound majestic. Now, it really does sound very nice and dainty, which truly does make it sound princess-y. HOWEVER, I just think that Zelda in general, but ESPECIALLY TETRA, deserved a much more majestic rendition of that original theme.
Nora RubyBloom nope, only link has it on his left hand, since he is left handed (except in skyward sword and the Wii version of twilight princess). Both Zelda and Ganon are right handed, so it's always on their right hands.
Tetra is my favorite Zelda and OoT Zelda is my least favorite. Tetra was brave and helped Link out in her own way, though it maybe harsh. She didn’t force Link into anything, and didn’t try to sugarcoat situations. She was a capable fighter and thought things through before taking actions; her only negative is that she was a little rash. The game also nerfed her by transforming her into a Zelda form. They took all her weapons and means to defend herself while locking her into a supposedly safe room. OoT Zelda was a fool from begging to end. It’s because of her that Ganondorf got the Triforce. And then at the end she sends Link to the past so he can relive his childhood and thereby dooms not only her Link but her Kingdom as well. She may have meant well, but the path to hell is often paved with good intentions. She first sends Link into a dangerous and life threatening journey and then goes, your job is done so I’m going to undo every thing you have done and erase everyone’s memory of you including mine. Link was basically forced into becoming a stranger in a strange land. He was a man but not, a hero but not, a Kokiri but not. Because of Zelda Link became a literal no one because he had no place to belong or almost no friends or allies. He was a soldier that no once could or would ever understand.

That's not true. There's only a single scene (this one) where Zelda has a different "personality" than Tetra, and that's just because she was overwhelmed and filled with guilt. In the finale, Zelda behaves just like Tetra would, and even does her signature wink.

Im confused and I have some questions. Before this tetra had to have been zelda because we see pictures of her and her servants who would become tetras pirate crew, fine. But then how did zelda just become tetra? Why doesnt tetra know that shes zelda? Do tetra and zeldas just have different brains, like are they different entities in the same body? When was she given the piece of the triforce of wisdom and how did her mom have it?
Tetra is a descendant of the Princess Zelda from Ocarina of Time. Knowledge of her bloodline became lost over time. The Triforce of Wisdom was passed down as a family heirloom.
Why does she suddenly lose her darker skin and her voicr and entire personality changes? It makes no sense. It's specifically said in Wind Waker that Link is not the same Link as the Link in the past... so why is Tetra Zelda? I love this game so much but there was some weirdness going on there.

Logically speaking the whole purpose of Tetra was to hide Princess Zelda's identity. If you played Wind Waker you'll know that the giant bird at the start was looking for a princess this entire time. Her natural skin tone is most likely white, she’s tanned because she lives on a ship and is out in the sun all day.

5:00 meet Toon Zelda
My one complaint about this scene is that after Boaty (King Hyrule for the uncultured) puts back the missing Triforce of Wisdom piece and that Link to the Past (which I grew up playing) theme plays, it doesn't sound majestic. Now, it really does sound very nice and dainty, which truly does make it sound princess-y. HOWEVER, I just think that Zelda in general, but ESPECIALLY TETRA, deserved a much more majestic rendition of that original theme.

Nora RubyBloom nope, only link has it on his left hand, since he is left handed (except in skyward sword and the Wii version of twilight princess). Both Zelda and Ganon are right handed, so it's always on their right hands.

Tetra is my favorite Zelda and OoT Zelda is my least favorite. Tetra was brave and helped Link out in her own way, though it maybe harsh. She didn’t force Link into anything, and didn’t try to sugarcoat situations. She was a capable fighter and thought things through before taking actions; her only negative is that she was a little rash. The game also nerfed her by transforming her into a Zelda form. They took all her weapons and means to defend herself while locking her into a supposedly safe room.
OoT Zelda was a fool from begging to end. It’s because of her that Ganondorf got the Triforce. And then at the end she sends Link to the past so he can relive his childhood and thereby dooms not only her Link but her Kingdom as well. She may have meant well, but the path to hell is often paved with good intentions. She first sends Link into a dangerous and life threatening journey and then goes, your job is done so I’m going to undo every thing you have done and erase everyone’s memory of you including mine. Link was basically forced into becoming a stranger in a strange land. He was a man but not, a hero but not, a Kokiri but not. Because of Zelda Link became a literal no one because he had no place to belong or almost no friends or allies. He was a soldier that no once could or would ever understand.

Tetra didn't go rogue, she was simply living out her life until some old dude who couldn't let go of the past came around calling her "Zelda".
Right, "Princess Zelda" in this instance is just an inherited title for Tetra. Tetra was a pirate before the story, and was a pirate at its conclusion, its who she really is..

The part that is weird is why she goes from being a tom boy bad ass as tetra and turns into a softie when she becomes zelda 😅. Also why would king hyrule reveal her identity now instead of after ganondorf is defeated lol he lacks common sense for a king no wonder his city is under the sea 😅
Because Zelda had no recollection of who she was while in her Tetra form. The reveal was essential so she could regain her memory and realize exactly who she is... Maybe the prophecy always foretold the hero and Zelda fighting off the evil together, she wouldn't be able to do that in her pirate form while having amnesia.

That's not true. There's only a single scene (this one) where Zelda has a different "personality" than Tetra, and that's just because she was overwhelmed and filled with guilt.

Assuming by "his giant pet" you mean the Helmaroc King. Ganondorf didn't send him after Tetra specifically. He ordered him to capture girls with pointy ears. He actually had no idea that Tetra was Zelda until they met in person and he sensed the Triforce piece she had on her. Tetra assumed that the Triforce piece was just a random piece of jewelry. She had no idea what Ganondorf was talking about when he called her Zelda.
Also, it very much is still whitewashing.

Im confused and I have some questions. Before this tetra had to have been zelda because we see pictures of her and her servants who would become tetras pirate crew, fine. But then how did zelda just become tetra? Why doesnt tetra know that shes zelda? Do tetra and zeldas just have different brains, like are they different entities in the same body? When was she given the piece of the triforce of wisdom and how did her mom have it?
Tetra is a descendant of the Princess Zelda from Ocarina of Time. Knowledge of her bloodline became lost over time. The Triforce of Wisdom was passed down as a family heirloom.

Why does she suddenly lose her darker skin and her voicr and entire personality changes? It makes no sense. It's specifically said in Wind Waker that Link is not the same Link as the Link in the past... so why is Tetra Zelda? I love this game so much but there was some weirdness going on there.
To put it bluntly, let's not try and add realism into a game where little elf people and mini boats with talking lion head's exist.
Logically speaking the whole purpose of Tetra was to hide Princess Zelda's identity. If you played Wind Waker you'll know that the giant bird at the start was looking for a princess this entire time. If Zelda was... Well, Zelda then she'd stick out like a sore thumb.
Am I the only one who dislikes the scene? I know, light skin means royalty in Japan but did the triforce suck the pigments out of her skin or what? Tetra's clothes also look much cooler than the generic princess design, gives her much more personality. It doesn't even make sense to me that the king is just like "yeah, your name is Zelda now. Forget your complete identity, you are Ocarina of Time Zelda 2: electric bagaloo."
You know she gets her tan back at the end and keeps the tan in both of the sequels, right?

She also was Tetra her whole life, why is her name Zelda just because she is a descendant of Zelda anyway? Like, this moment should be a big thing, but for me it's just "she is the Zelda of this game, but we have to make it really really clear to the player that she is Zelda. Let's change her design for that scene and call her Zelda, so that really everyone gets it, even though that doesn't really make sense."
@@tomb.524 You’re making a big deal out of nothing. Sheik lost their tan when they became Zelda (and didn’t get it back, unlike Tetra). It’s just an artistic choice and nothing more.

It just bothers me a bit, I'm not going to cancel anyone or something, the tan isn't the only thing, it's the whole "you are Zelda now for no reason" thing.
