The coating is not a waterproofing barrier? So water penetrates the foam?

The foam roof IS a waterproofing barrier and very effective and adds great insulation qualities. After the foam roof is on, its followed up with a elastomeric white roof coating. The elastomeric coating is highly reflective of the sun's damaging uv rays etc and protects the foam roof from the sun. Regular maintenance of a foam roof is to simple put another coat of elastomeric on it every 5 to 15 years (depending on the quality of the elastomeric.) If there is ever damage to a foam roof, it's very easily repaired.

Spray foam roofs are garbage. We tear them off just after a couple years. They blister, birds peck at them. Bullet holes penetrate the roof( detroit).

Bullet holes? Lol I am pretty sure there is no roof material that is bulletproof.

Foam roofs are long lasting, provide insulation and are very easy to maintain in the hot, dry Arizona climate.

Ive been in the roofing business for over 50 years. And installing foam for over 20. I've never had to tear off any foam for any reason. You're just a roofer that doesn't like competition

Learn English first, then come. Roofing is a tough job but as long as you’re willing to do it they’ll hire you. Just please know English when you do decide to come, and whoever comes with you. Speak the language, know it, understand it. We have enough people who come not speaking English.

@@marissateresa_ True but to be fair it wouldn't hurt to speak Spanish as well, almost all the roofers in the US speak Spanish these days only some speak English. No I do not like or agree with that though, Vote like our country depends on it because it does!

“THE MOST RESPONSIBLE WAY TO ROOF” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I strongly disagree. It’s the most irresponsible.
For all of the building owners/property management companies thinking about this option, I strongly advise you do your research before deciding to move forward with this system.
These roofs are a preventative maintenance nightmare.
Scenario 1: your RTU needs maintenance/repairs. HVAC technician walks across the roof not knowing and or not caring about damaging the roof. Drops a panel/screw/tool on the roof and cuts into the roof. That night it rains. Now you have an absorbent foam product that is soaked but hey maybe your roof didn’t leak.
Well ffwd until it does eventually leak and
See how much it’s going to cost to replace the affected area.
By the time your roof lasts 20 years, (btw I’ve never seen a foam roof last longer than 5 years)you will absolutely end up paying more than what an EPDM/TPO roof would have cost.
    You’ve been warned

Twaddle ... one fundamental characteristic of HD poly closed cell foam is that it is NOT absorbent. In fact, it is used as the core in about 30% of modern yachts for that very reason. Damage is quick and easy to repair (over-spray and coat.)
I have used this technique on a number of roofs, some as long as 25 years ago, and all are still in perfectly sound condition.

    • @L4M858
      @L4M858 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Sure, and a meteorite might strike your roof and make a hole too! I guess conventional type roofs never get leaks, huh?...... You're obviously a roofer who hasn't invested in the equipment to do foam roofs and therefore companies who are doing foam are eating your lunch.
