I buy my coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and Extra virgin olive oil in the grocery store with my food stamp card.... 😂😂...aint no shame in my game 😂😂...love these tips very helpful
Shanel Miller, I am with you, my hair hates coconut oil and olive oil as well. I use JBCO with Aleo Vera juice mix with water and my hair loves it, gives it so much shine and easy to detangle my hair on wash day.
I mix the Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor oil with olive oil. I haven’t tried JBCO in years so a month ago I got it again and my hair is SO thick now! Each strand is stronger and more elastic. I like to test my porosity every so often and I noticed when I try to pull out a strand of clean product free hair it doesn’t break after 2 tugs any more, I doesn’t break at all! I highly recommend JBCO but warn you to test it on your scalp the day before wash day to see if you’re allergic to it. My own sister is allergic to it; DNA is weird.
My hair loves coconut oil, Jamaican black casta oil and olive oil But I recently purchased creme of nature essentials 7 treatment oil n it have both sealing oils and moisturising oil in it Even though I does already combine oils together all the time to make a hot oil treatment But thanks for the advice I will continue to combine those oils together
Thank you so much for the information! I tend to go for olive oil and coconut oil. I didn't realize that oils function differently. I have noticed a difference when I try to use jojoba oil as a moisturizer...it does create shine, but not moisure and I just figured that oil doesn't work for my hair, not knowing I was using it ineffectively. I appreciate you explaining the difference. :)
My hair isn’t too picky on oils, but it doesn’t like Jamaican black castor oil at all; my hair had shed so bad with it. I’m now using an independent oil brand called Vicky Beez and my hair has been loving it! It has different vitamins and oils that I’m surprised my hair likes.
I love grapeseed oil avocado oil jojoba oil and extra virgin olive oil for my hair. Thanks for the information now I know how to use them for moisture and shine.
Jojoba argan vitamin e and shea oils are what i throw in my deep conditioners and i seal with jojoba oil when styling.. if im using heat on my hair i use vitamin e to seal since its a little thicker.. makes a better barrier in my mind
For some reason, some of these oils do different things for me. Like coconut oil always sits on top of my hair strand, and, I know it wasn’t mentioned in this video, but shea butter always moisturizes my hair. It makes me want to choose all of the oils she listed just to see how each of those oils work!
I love avocado, grapeseed and rosehip oil! Rosehip oil is one of the most slept on oils for skin and hair! It penetrates the skin and hair very quickly. And I mean quickly! If you don't hurry when putting on your face or hair it will absorb into your hands. I'm currently experimenting with hemp seed oil. Its definitely a heavier oil not as heavy as castor oil.
I love avacado oil.. or my hair does, it loves almond, jojoba, and jbc oil as well..i usually almost always mix my oils or even infuse ayurveda oils.. but my scalp loves avacado and I seal with jojoba and or grapeseed oil..
I can't stand coconut oil on its own. When I've used it in the past, it was just OK but then felt like it really just sat on top of my hair. I like it in combination with other oils. I used to use a concoction of coconut, Jamaican black castor grapeseed, olive and tea tree oils for pre-poos and hot oil treatments as wells as sealing. I now only use tea tree oil for my scalp and I've ditched oils all together in favor of sealing with shea butter on wash day. I have used grapeseed oil to seal in between wash days when I moisturize, though. Glad to know the grapeseed oil was the right sealant of choice!
This was VERY helpful!! Thanks for sharing. To be honest, I have never heard anyone break it down quite like this before. So I really appreciate this info. I have used all of the oils you mentioned, and my favorites are jojoba, olive, grapeseed and avocado. Never thought of mixing them. I plan to try that next wash day. Again, thanks!
@@reacharles631, you should try it, I've never had a product that gave my hair shine or made it easier to detangle my hair until I tried the Aloe Vera juice. I mix half and half with water and lightly mist my hair with it before detangling and then I add a condition to my hair then detangle, after I shampoo my hair I keep it moist with the mixture after I add my leave-in conditional then I style my hair which is, mostly two-strand twists. I purchase my Aleo Vera juice from water for less than $5. Try it, it may or may not work on your hair but I have gone through so many expensive products that I am done, going to stick with this one, it works for my 4c hair.
I have been natural for a few years and honestly I didn't really know the difference between them. Now, I can have a better use of them. Thank you so much for this Informative video. Love videos like this
I usually use coconut oil ... never really thought about different types of oils. I should definitely invest in a sealing oil. Possibly grapeseed. I perspire alot so usually when I place products in my hair i find i it doesn't usually stay locked in my hair. Will try it out and keep u updated.
I use all of the mentioned oils along with almond oil as well and sometimes vitamin E oil. They all do wonders to my hair. Love using these oils as a hot treatment resulting in soft, silky manageable hair.
My hair loves olive, JBCO, almond, avocado, and peppermint oils to name a few but whenever taking down let’s say a protective style I like to warm some coconut oil and use it as a prep before shampoo there’s so many other good ones thanks for the video love your puff its so voluminous
My hair love's EVOO, Castor Oil these are the main two oils my hair love the most and my hair all so love's peppermint, rosemary, lavender oil, my hair whole the sweet fragrance of the oils for a long time.
I don’t use oils as often anymore (although I detangle with them sometimes) because I’ve went from twist outs to wearing lots of wash n gos. But my favorite oils are avocado oil and grape seed oil. Love mielle’s mint oil as well as vitamin E oil for protective styles.
Thank you. My hair loves olive and shea butter. It becomes frizzy in about 10min when I apply any other oil. Will try mixing the olive with my argan oil and see what it does.
Thank you for this video. I have been craving natural hair care educational videos. My favorite hair oil right now are store bought oils. The carrot and JBCO right now. I love avocado oil too.
Chantal Laneau I have grapeseed at home but I haven’t used it as yet as I’m still shook by Avocado oil. It’s literally amazing. It makes my hair so moisturized and defined and silky and shiny 😫
I don't have a favourite oil, I use coconut oil and olive oil. Growing up our hair oil back then was coconut oil as we had lots of coconuts Mama would boiled that oil for our hair. So I know the benefits of coconut oil.
Hi Shanique, I just subscribed and rang the bell. I am just getting into Oils for my skin and hair. I am so thankful for your knowledge about these oils. I just started using oils such as olive oil, avacado oils on my hair. I have 3B-C hair and I have low porosity hair. So I believe I need to seal in moisture for my hair. I will be listening and taking recommendations for oils I should use for my hair. Thank you so much for your videos. I will be watching. And I forgot to mention I think you are adorable!
I love to and have been combining several oils for years. My all time favorites are jojoba oil,and olive oil. In my teens while living in Toronto a friend and myself discovered Jamaican black castor oil,it was the bomb. I was loving it,but don't know why I stopped. I will try it again at some point. Argon oil products are my new trial for almost a year now. My low porosity, strange pattern hair loves everything olive oil. Nice video.👍
Thank you for explaining the difference between sealing oils and moisture oils. I normally use coconut oil or olive oil for my hair. My hair soaks up oil really fast as if I didn’t put any oil on my hair at all. So I have to use coconut or olive oils or something that has these oils in them often. After I wash and condition my hair I use a product by ORS that has olive oil in it. It smells really good and I use it it for a detangler and a heat protectant before I blow dry my hair. Thanks again for the info. Very helpful. I will try the grape seed oil. What would Shea butter be considered as...a sealer or for moisture? 😊
*Question:* I use a water-based leave-in and then seal with an avocado oil & castor oil mix, so once I seal my ends on a Monday am I not going to be able to get anymore moisture into my ends until I wash my hair again on Friday??????

mstamalaj me too! Like how can you not? Lol
Chantal Laneau I think those people have yet to realize how fundamental oil is to hair health. If you oil your car, oil your hair 🤷🏾♀️
mstamalaj Lol, nice way of looking at it. But to each his own 😊
Grapeseed oil and Olive oil are my favourite 👌♥️
