After using the LOC for years (natural since 2011) and finally confirming my hair porosity is low. I changed to LCO and my hair has flourished! It's a journey learning & understanding what works for your hair. 😃
@Myriah Yates For my leave in I like to use Alikay Naturals Lemongrass or homemade spray mix of Aussie conditioner, olive oil & water. Cream I use shea moisture coconut & hibiscus curl enhancing smoothie or Obia Moisturizing Cream. Lastly for Oil I use a homemade buttercream to seal. 😃
My hair goes below midback when stretched so I know the struggle. I've actually ranted a few times about my hair choosing to flop down on me when I'm at work or have somewhere important to go. I suggest making the puff a little tighter since you'll probably have a little more volume to go around. Use Bobby pins if you need a little extra assistance with shape. I sometimes have the longer pieces of my hair on the side flop down in a puff, which gives me more broccoli (or banana palm) rather than fineapple (if you get my visual lol) so just pin the longer pieces away or pin them in a way that makes them appear shorter and more uniformed for the desired shape that you're going for. K. Hope that helped 😊💓
I'm low porosity but I don't generally use oils in my styling routine. I use a liquid (either water and/or conditioner) and a cream when doing twists. I feel like most twisting creams or styling butters have a lot of oils in them so I don't need to add extra oils. For wash and goes I add a gel to my liquid and cream when styling for extra hold. I do have an oil mix that I make but I usually use that on top of my deep conditioners for extra softness and slip when detangling and moisture retention before styling.
Love and greetings from Pretoria, South Africa. I am Asian Indian with 3B curls. I always use the L.O.C. method because the L.C.O. method makes my hair limp and oily to the touch. Strange but true😊
I have wavy/curly hair and I do LCO. I just carefully measure out product (just a coin size on my entire head, per layer of the method) because I have a looser texture. It works very well! I have medium porosity. Low is where your hair "refuses" chemical services such as color. It is very rare but people often very "quickly" say low, while most people's porosity is medium aka "normal".
Was anyone else just like “nooope, nope, 🤨 NOOOOOOPE”! When she was talking about the LOC method 🤣 it just makes no sense to me! But all in good fun. Do whatever works for you guys! I pray your hair journey is magnificent babies!!☺️🥰💙
I like the LCO method best! My hair is low porosity. My hair is so soft and detangles easily when I use this method. I use the Dr. Bronners Hot six oil. My hair loves this stuff!!
If you've been moisturizing and sealing your hair using the same products and technique that you've used and worked in the past, you might want to try clarifying your hair with a clarifying shampoo or a clay mask before you make changes to your moisturizing routine. Sometimes product buildup can make it seem like tried and true products no longer work.
Shanique Buntyn I tried the LCO method on Sunday and it worked so much better, my hair has stayed moisturized way longer! Yea I guess you have to try both and see what works!
@@tricethomas9653 So I wash my hair once a week on a Friday. At the moment my cleanser of choice isn't fixed because I just gave up shampoo last week since my hair reacts really badly to them. I acv rinse my hair for now and use a plastic bag over my hair for about 20-30 mins. Then I DC or the same amount of time, do the lb of my LBC method and braid my hair to stretch it. The next day I sprits all my sections with some water and use my styling cream to do twists.
@@KammyKamzz Me too, high porosity gang but I have been having issues cleansing my hair because I have tried many shampoos and they increase my already highly porous hair, giving me terrible tangles, ssk and breakage and even after dcing and moisturising, this doesn't remove the brittle feel of my hair after. Last week I acv rinsed my hair no shampoo and my hair felt amazing the cuticles felt flattened, I could detangle my hair for the first wash day with ease but apparently acv isn't a proper cleanser so I don't know what to use...
I'm low porosity. I use the LG method. Leave in and gel. Sometimes just gel (a moisturizing and nourishing one) since everything to takes so long to dry with my low porosity, dense hair!!
I have low porosity hair and switched to the LCO method after having no gains with the LOC method. Hair was usually very dry. Have problem with split ends. Started to trim more regular now as to not impede growth by holding on to hair that won't grow.
Great video! I will definitely try them both to see the difference. I'm now natural and trying to figure out my hair. I I multiple textures. But, my hair is definitely low porosity. Thanks!!👍🏼
I like this video. I will do a video on both methods to see which works best for my super dry hair. This is a great hair video for me to experiment on. Thanks.
Love your videos, Ill hook up with you when im in your area if you dont mind. I used to use the LCO but now i use only LC cus the products i use contain oils and having too much oil on my hair makes me break out and have a very oily face.
@Shanique Buntyn. OMYGOD Shanique thank you so much for this video!! I'm starting a new hair regimen (journey) to relearn my hair and this came just in time!! I LOVE your explanation of both methods!! I've always relied on the LCO but doing your split test is a great idea!! And yes, I need to learn my hair porosity again thank you again!!💖
Im a low porocity girlie who has used LCO 6 years. I just thought my hair was naturally extremely dry. Tried LOC once and its like my hair texture completely changed my hair is now day 8 twists and they are sooooo juicy. I also used alma oil. LOC FOR ME FOR NOW ON!
I personally don't think loc makes sense... I feel like the cream is irrelevant after the oil cus it can't really get to the hair through the oil... but that's my opinion... I like the lco method...
Hi, i do the these methods and do low manipulation protective styles, but i have a struggle with split ends, I’m exhausted and don’t know what else to do. I trim regularly, deep condition, hot oil treatments. Pffff the last thing that i’m going to try is buying and expensive hair scissor and see if that’s maybe the issue. Does anybody have advice or the same struggle?
I was wondering why the loc method wasnt working for me. I used grapeseed for the o and put a curling cream on top and i also have low porosity so all those products just sat on top of my hair and got all over my face, glasses, neck, and clothes. It was a sloppy mess but i want to try it again using olive oil instead and also try the lco method with grapeseed
I have no idea what i am...🤷🏾♀️ I’ve tried both, and neither work. I’d like to think I’m high perosity bc I can lather my hair with moisture today, and by tomorrow it’s all dried up. So annoying. But I’ve tried both and neither work so far. Maybe it’s the oils I use or the products.. Idk...
LCO doesn’t make sense to me, Cream is heavier than oil, so shouldn’t you put moisture, oil, and then the cream to seal everything in?.. Why would you put a light oil over a heavy cream?
Everyone’s hair is different some prefer LCO and some like LOC. For me, Why would I put a oil that blocks out moisture before adding a moisturizing cream. The oil will lock moisture in. Once the oil is on your are not benefiting from the cream. Creams contain water

LCO is my fave!! If yall not moisturizing your hair like this you are truly missing out on moisture. I have low porosity and it works amazing for me!
What liquid and what cream do you use
Yes best method ever I never understood the LOC method

is your hair in a puff? How do you get it to sit so perfectly? My hair is starting to grow out tremendously and my "puffs" look more like "flops"

I’m low porosity, I use LCO method for twist and braid outs and a leave in and a gel only for wash n gos.
Did the LCO method on my high porosity hair two days ago - my hair is still super juicy and bomb!!!! :)
Hi there. What products did u use if u don't mind me askinng??
Your hair looks so good 🙌🏾
Thanks!
I've been using the LOC method since last year, but now I am curious to know how my hair reacts to the LCO. Thanks for the video!
🙂
I started using LCO hair and my hair and curls have never been more defined or soft 🙏🏾
Am low porosity and i use Lco method and it work so great for me. All thanks to you when i started my natural hair . Love you
For my daughters low porosity i do either leave in and oil or hair milk and oil to avoid tons of product build up
Great tips I use the LCO method because my hair is low porosity

I’m absolutely in love with your hair
Hey Shanique I use the LCO method. In the beginning of my journey I did try the LOC method but my hair felt dry and my styles didn’t last long.
I love this video ❤️❤️❤️. I use LCO method for my high prosperity hair . I retain more moisture this way and receive less breakage than the LOC method
I use the LOC method. I am low porosity, low density with fine strands. I find that my hair retains moisture better.
👍🏼👍🏼 i love the LCO method too for intense moisture.
I have low porosity hair (learned after watching an old video of yours) and I LOVE using the LCO method. Makes my twists look nice and juicy for days.
I still dont know which one my hair likes the most thanks for suggesting to do both methods on different sides of your hair.

I think I have low porosity and have been using the loc method. Will try loc on half of my hair soon.
Yes try it
Great Video I Have High Porosity And I Do The LCO Method Luv It💜💜
Same, cuz my hair love getting dry😭 so locking the moisture in with Oil is amazing
I've been using the loc since I went natural in 2006 however, in the winter I use loco.
I have low porosity dense type 4 hair. Loc is my go to for moisture all week. . My hair would dry out with lco.

So informative... You look so amazing and happy you didn't cut your hair, it's so beautiful 😘😘😘 Love from S.A

I use both/high porosity hair
I am low porosity and I use the LCO
I love the LCO method. I don’t know what porosity my hair is.
I’m medium to high porosity and I use the LCO method.
Thanks for the video I never even thought about that I'm going to try it
I use the LOC method. The LCO method just makes my hair feel oily
I do the LO method. I find that adding a cream is way too much for my hair. Using a water based leave in and sealing my hair is perfect.
Thanks for sharing!
What oil do you use
Patrick Everett almond oil
I’m high porosity but I use LCO
Me too
Can you tell us how fix edge breakage
LCO...But, I'm wanting to test LOC to see if I get different results.
same
What should be the cream and what should be the liquid?
I just wanna know how did you get ur hair so thick or is it like that because you have 3 textures??

I'm like normal to low porosity and I use the lco method!
I have medium porosity hair. I do the LCO method.

Me either, but it's dry as HELL!
