I'm intrigued how repaying student loans works in the US. I trained as a nurse from age 18-21 then returned to uni aged 40 to gain my BSc (Hons) in psychology. Here In the UK you start repaying your loans directly from your salary once you're earning above a certain amount. It increases or decreases according to your earnings and, like paying tax, National Insurance and work-place pensions- it becomes a 'normal' regular outgoing. The repayment plans have changed with different governments but the one I'm on (plan 1) any remainder will be written off after I hit 65 (not so far away 😂) Otherwise, I think any balance is written off 30 years from your first payment. Student debt doesn't affect credit scores either- is that the same there?
your ads are really the best. I've never watched a youtuber who puts so much respect, creativity, time, and professionalism into their ads. seriously it always puts a smile to my face, like watching a bestie make an audition skit or something hehe
@@ChelseaCallahan and i commented before you mentioned the short film! how exciting!! that'll be so fun to watch! i was wondering when you were going to incorporate some more *acting* in your videos :)
I did my degree at 33, my Masters at 50 and, at 53, I'm doing my PhD. If I'd done it all sooner, I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much, or valued it as much.
Bravo! Many years ago I met a lady who went back to school in her late 50's. She always wanted to be a teacher but got married very young and was a stay at home mother her entire life. After much mental nagging she decided to take the plunge. She first had to get her ged then enroll in college. She said she got her first job as a teacher when all her friends were retiring. She went on to teach for 18yrs into her 80's and she loved it!!
Loved that coat with your outfit. Perfect length. 33 is a great age. At that age I felt like I was finally an adult and people started taking me seriously. I think the best decade of my life was actually in my 40's. So at 33 your just getting there. I'll be 70 on November 5th by the way. I don't feel that old, well except first thing in the morning. 😊
I feel this! I’m 42 and feel so young, I feel like I’ll never feel old. As life goes on I find better ways to take care of myself, learn more about how to manage my feelings and move in the world, find out who I am more… more time seems to bring more mellowing and the benefits of experience!
@AnneLilley Ditto! I'm 31 now and I finally feel like a real adult in my career and that both my colleagues and students take me seriously, and I feel it'll only get better with age👍🏾
I hear this. I’m in my 50s now and am feeling like I’m entering an entirely new phase in life, one I couldn’t have imagined in my 30s. As long as we’re living, we are never really “finished” with becoming who we are. It’s constant growth and new opportunities and discoveries.
The 40's has been the worst decade of my entire life. My muscles are weakening, face is changing, metabolism is slow, sex is definitely no where near as fun as 20's, hormones are a rollercoaster ride, body shape is changing, would love more kids but my time is about over which really depresses me, energy at an all time low, my elder family members have died, I feel like I'm running out of time. I take vitamins/supplements, read a lot, go for walks with my dogs and kids, eat healthy and work out. But this totally sucks and I wonder why so many women told me it was great. It's not... and I feel lied to.
I think I needed to hear the message of this: "The excitement doesn't end when you are in your thirties, or fifties, or sixties --and beyond." Good message for us all. Thanks, Chelsea, for sharing a part of yourself.
I agree with your higher education rant. I would also add that employers often are very judgmental about prospective employees when they see a "gap" in their resume - they expect that you'll never, ever be without a job. And that's where including genuine life experience is valuable, but not to most employers. I love that you realize that the fun of life does not stop at a certain age...no, if we can remain "open" to life experiences, than life will continue to be precious and fascinating. "The best is yet to come!"🌻
That thing about having a gap in your resume is so bonkers, especially for how people want to work nowadays. I think with more men staying home with kids for a period of time and with some people working for a period and then taking a period to travel, etc. these stigmas will hopefully change.
Chelsea, I’m glad that you don’t try to be something that you’re not You’re just Chelsea. You don’t try to be perfect You don’t try to make your videos perfect Just a normal human being . such a relief.
Hey Chelsea, I'm a 37 yr old woman living on my own in London. I moved here in my early 30s and it was a big fresh start moment for me. I love listening to your musings about life and relate to many of the little moments you share about living in your own in a big city. 30s are such a wonderful time to get to know yourself more deeply and find out what you're made of. Hearing you reflect on this time in your life helps me to do the same and feel grateful. The realness of what you share here is really valuable. Thank you for doing what you do :)
"Doing the same old thing" is exactly why your channel is my favorite 💖💖 Because that's literally my life! I can relate to you and it's so comforting ☺
Bro I feel like this upload is going to heal my soul lollll I just had a work interview where I’m convinced I sounded so awkward and nervous 😅 now on my lunch break and got SO HAPPY when I saw this vid. Now I get to relax & eat leftovers & “hang” with you guys to take my mind off it. Happy weekend everyone!
Completely agree about waiting for school. I was entirely unprepared for university at 18 so I dropped out after the first year and entirely switched gears. I worked for a year (as a manager at Blockbuster - I'm also only 33 but that one makes me feel old lol) and then got an associate's degree to be a paralegal. That let me save and go back to school for a full degree later. The satisfaction I got graduating at 27 was sooooo much better than I would have gotten when I was younger. ANYWAY. I always tell young people there's no shame in waiting but society is going to society. I am so happy I did.
I lived in NYC when I was 30-33. I paid off my student debt during that time. I moved back closer to family, met my husband thru friends at 34, married at 35, became a Mom at 36. Your channel resonates for me.
I tend to think that having a reset every 7-10 years shows that we grow and reassess our value and needs. All of our body parts regrew and got replaced over that time, so it’s a different person making choices today than the version that existed in the last decade. It’s like getting multiple lives and I love that. On a side note, ‘tonight I have no plans’ is basically a gold ass bliss move ❤
You're the most authentic ad creator lol. It's not cringey at all. Also, I almost didn't recognize your bedroom. It looks amazing! You've come so far into the events and everything. I love seeing the life you've created over the past year.
Great Vlog Chelsea. And thank you for standing up for us who do not have a college education. We are smart and hard working people who have the same dreams as everyone else. You're awesome, so stay that way 🙂
I really love the new art above your bed, Chelsea! I'm not sure if I missed you documenting hanging it, but it's a vibe! Your bedroom has come together so nicely 😊
It looks like you had so much fun going out! Congratulations on paying off student debt, that’s a huge worry. Love seeing the beautiful kitties as always, they’ve grown so quickly! Looking forward to whatever you post next. Thank you for always keeping it real! ❤
I love your videos. They're so calming and realistic. The cats are adorable. When you were talking about oversharing when you're out that is so me people always. I feel like I've known you forever. It's because I don't stop talking and sharing. LOL in my head the whole time I'm like okay. I need to stop talking but I can't stand silence.😅
“ I will literally tell someone my SSN to keep the conversation going” had me 😂😂😂 I get that… I am an extroverted introvert, IYKYK! I am good with one event per day and need to reenergise at home ❤ 😊 love all your vids CC x
Put a couple of open containers of baking soda in a couple of rooms and it will absorb the smell. If you have some oils you can put some drops in like tea tree oil or lemon or something you enjoy! It works very well. I just use a candle holder that’s empty or an empty jars or plastic cup or bowl where the cats won’t get to it! It’s not dangerous to them but it could spill everywhere! Glad you went out again! You’re doing so much more now, proud of you! Smartest thing you could have ever did was pay off those loans ( smart super smart)!no one needs that hanging over your head! That’s awesome!!!!
Love watching you engaging with your darling furbabies knowing how in love you are with them!! Thought Gordo was sooooo sweet sitting up on his hind legs on the bed when when you were laying with Deli...glad to see you are put and about enjoying life more too. Fantastic that $0 balance on student loans!! Onward and upward!!
One of the things I love about your vlogs the most, Chelsea, is how they will live on as a scrapbook of these "average" days. Someday you can look back at them and realize what a full and fabulous life you lived that was very worthy of sharing! What a wonderful gift to yourself to see these days again via your vlogs, right? It makes me wish I had any interest in being on camera (nope!) so I could do the same. :) But I shall live vicariously through you as your content helps me remember my own NYC days (also from my thirties) with immense fondness! I am eternally grateful for that. Clinkety clink! ☕❤☕
Sooo proud of you for paying off your student debt! Money shame is real ❤️ And I freaking love watching what you cook. I’m so excited for the short film next week!! I’m here for allll of the creativity x
Love Love Love your vlogs!!!! For an introvert like me, it feels like I'm visiting with friends. We laugh. We cry. We learn. We share. It's awesome!! I look forward to it every week ❤ can't wait for your wee film 🎉 have an awesome weekend x
you're little calico is the spitting image of my elsie (aka elsifer) who lived to 18.5 ... still miss her. I know I've written that before but every time i see her it warms the cockles of my heart
Congratulations on paying off your student loan Chelsea!! I just paid mine off two a few months ago! I paid off $50k in 5 years and I am so proud of myself! It is such a relief :)
While I agree that there shouldn’t be pressure for someone to go to college right away and that student debt is high, college isn’t about your major it’s about the life skills necessary to navigate the world. The ability to write, research, consume data and determine the critical information to be memorized. College is an investment in one’s self. I’d assert that much of what you’ve been able to do with your channel is a direct result of skills you learned in college. Going to college is a critical strategic choice, over a lifetime college graduates make over $2M more than their counterparts without a degree. And the stats show that every year removed from primary education the percentage of likelihood to return to higher education plummets. I think we must change the way we speak about college to help young people understand the choice and weigh their options.
Everytime you dress up im just at a loss for words because of how good you look every time!!!!! ✨💕 also what you said at 15:15, about being street smart is exactly what i've been trying to put into words. I have an art degree as well and most people don't really make a full time living out of doing art (neither do i lmao). I always put my 20+ years of being a scout on my resume hoping employers will be impressed hahahah, i can't do a spreadsheet on Excell but i WILL make a campfire thank you.
YES GIRL! Solid advice on student loans and waiting until you're older and have a solid meaning of what that debt looks like. I wouldn't have honestly gone to college (don't need it for my role), but now I'm saddled with over $60k in student loans. Bravo to you for paying it off!
Chelsea I just turned 33 in May ! I feel the same as you, that when I turn 34 next year I will still feel young. I further agree that when we least expect it someone can walk into our lives.
Ya age is just a number. My whole life changed in my 30’s . Left my fiancé after a 9 year relationship with him. Met my now husband, got married and then pregnant at 37… first time mom at 38, and now I’m living the best part of my life with a 9 month old baby and I’m turning 39 next month ✨
I know other people tell you this in the comments too, but here I am telling you the same: I FREAKING LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE your vlogs and your creative ads are unmatched! I mean it!
I never went to a METS game until a couple of weeks ago and it was really fun! I’m not into Sports really but I love just going out there and experience new things ❤
Chelsssss!!! You’ve blossomed so much over the years into an amazing and more confident woman. Huge fan! You still give me the hip/fun chic side of Miranda Hobbs. LOVE IT! ♥️
What all ads aspire to be. Honestly the warmth and genuine care you put into your storytelling is top tier girly. Also your kittens are adorbs, I hope the tummy troubles are behind you! My kittens blood work came back as "general dehydration" so now there are glass bowls everywhere cause she's too bougie for her metal water dish 😆😆😆
The comment about feeling like life can change at any age made me feel better too! I honestly at 36, feel a bit lost! Congrats on paying off your student loans, what a major accomplishment! You’re a mega inspiration, Chels!
okay but why does the first fit reminded me so much of miranda from satc? like, the dress, the shoes, the hair und the over all effortless chic look? love it!
Gordo is adorable. I have a mainecoon named Bruce and he looks exactly like Gordo except totally grown up. He is a wonderful, loveable and perfect little (big) furball. Also a rescue!
Congrats on knocking that student loan off your radar! Your gentle “rant” on what we do right out of high school resonated with this grandma of a certain age. I did the same thing (straight on to 4 yrs of college) because that’s just the expectation that resonated within my family. No real regrets, but the worldly wisdom of hindsight illuminated options I’d never considered at that tender age. I love the way you expressed your thoughts on this subject. Love you lady❤️
Hi Chelsea! "The excitement doesn't end when you're in your 30s or 40s or 50s or 60s and beyond." Amen to that! ❤And congratulations on paying back your student loan...! Must be a huge actual and psychic relief. I agree with you though, that there are many different pathways to success, and real word experience is so valuable, as is knowing your true strengths and desires...Going into debt/rushing into post secondary education because you believe college - immediately after high school or ever - is the only way to be successful needs to be re-thought. Whew!
Chelsea, what you say about the education system is so spot on.. you go, show up, memorize and move on.. I am more impressed with street smarts , common sense and life experiences than a college degree ( which I have) It’s always been my opinion that the people with street smarts make a much better employee than the one with just a piece of paper.. nuff said, love your puddies.. give them kisses for me 😻😉
Awwwwww Chelsea the wee little kitty standing on his back legs looking over the duvet, SOOOOOO cute. Looked like a little Meercat. Bless. Always a joy watching your videos. You have a great sense of humour. Brits and Americans have very different tastes in humour but i get ya girl. lol. 🤣😂🤣😂 You always make me laugh especially when making your videos for your sponsor deals. The girl room mate is my favourite. Shes hilarious. Have a great weekend x
I love how you go to events and chat to people. I can do anything on my own except talk comfortably to other people. Maybe its a British thing. Delilah is so cute when she snuggle sleeps with you.x
Cutest Brooklinen ad I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a lot. Almost every creator I follow has done one but I skip most of them not gonna lie 😅 I didn’t skip this one! It was so sweet. Love that you are going to play around creatively. Looking forward to seeing what you do next.
I’m 33 right now loved hearing your perspective. I am so happy for you paying off your student loans!! Loved hearing your insights on higher education, it’s crazy to me how normalized it is for 18 year olds to take on that much debt. We think it’s the next thing we just have to do, why doesn’t anyone question it? I think things are changing though and people are starting to realize
i look forward to upload day every week, and pasta chats is exactly what i needed this week. i'm about to turn 25 and have never felt more lost and sometimes hopeless, but then its like you read my mind and said what i needed to be reminded. i found your channel during a hard time in life and am just reminded time and time again why I watch you still - the light you provide is needed and i am so thankful to be able to experience you! if you ever feel like you aren't doing enough, just know you saved a lil life somewhere out there
Huge, HUGE applause for paying off your student loan! That is so rare these days and you’re so lucky to have the means to do that. I’m annoyed how much tuition costs now. It puts higher education out of reach for so many who want, and deserve, to go and continue learning and growing. I went to college at a time when I could pay it myself from a part-time job, but that is next to impossible anymore. Very proud of you! 😊
Thank you Chelsea,I look forward to your videos every week.As a fellow New Yorker, I'm familiar with some of the places you have been. Very entertaining.Keep doing what you do lovely lady.💐
33 is still so young to start a new chapter in your life, it’s societal expectations that put so much pressure on us. I so resonate with you about higher education, I wish I had waited a few years also before making a decision, I’m currently going through a career transition myself. I luv seeing Gordo and Delila, you have created a beautiful little family 🫶
God, hearing you talk about the play... I really needed to hear that. Hope you know you've touched someone's life. Someone far far away from where you are :) Thank you
You do the best adds! Usually when people do adds they annoy me but I get excited when I see your adds. You are so creative. The sheet fort was genius!
I love your videos when you go places and show where you’re going and what there is to do in NYC. I think I already mentioned it in another video to you but I don’t know if you read my comment a while back. I had plans to come there in Sept within days of 9/11. But we changed it because me and my friend had bought leather coats and boots and wanted it to be cooler when we came. So we changed our tickets to the beginning of Oct 2001 but everything was still going on. Not much touristy things to do everything was closed that we wanted to do. Like the Statue of Liberty and the Waldorf hotel, and the buildings were still smoking and there were ashes everywhere, pictures of people all over the fencing it was daunting. We wanted to help but we had waited all of our lives to come there and had saved for almost 2 years to pay for everything. People were thanking us for coming and we bought lots of NYC FD shits to support and handed out money to people we could give it too. It was so hard trying to have fun. We did go to see rent, I didn’t even know what it was about but we liked it. The actors thanked everyone as well. Every restaurant we went to people were so nice to us. We even saw the underwear guitar playing cowboy! We finally to the bus to Jersey to a mall to go shopping. I was happy to be there but sad for and with everyone looking for their family members. So, it’s nice when you go to the park or out places to see what NYC is all about. I know things have changed so much, and I was younger too! But thanks for taking us along with you, I really enjoy it! I’m happy you are doing so well for yourself and getting out with your friends and meeting new people! Stay safe, and may God bless you always!
I love your videos...AND Brooklinen. I first slept in their sheets at an AirBnB....then I bought some for my place in SF and now my place in NYC. Quality product! I enjoyed The Roommate. It's light and fun. Loved JOB....tomorrow I see Table 17 at MCC. NYC is endless fun and even on the days I go nowhere, I just love being here.
It's so weird, having watched you for almost a year and a half from across the country, to be like "oh, i know what day that was. I got caught in that storm. I stopped into an izakaya to escape. I had planned to walk by the water but it was way too cold and windy for what i was wearing." Thanks for helping the city feel not so intimidating
I totally get it. I should be writing my 4th book but I’m in a slump. It will come but it’s frustrating. I’m a huge fan of yours Chelsea. I enjoy the small pleasures of a simple life. Keep up the good work!
First off I literally just bought the exact same coffee creamer. I saw that and was omg how funny 😂also thank you for just being such a safe fun and warm place on the internet. I deal with anxiety and yesterday was rough for me I put on your video and it truly helped me to try and stay calm. Just thank you for being you and I’ve said it before but I freaking love the way you do ads for brands! ❤❤
I love watching your ads, Chelsea. You put so much thought into creating them! Never have I ever wanted to watch an ad before. With yours, I look forward to them!!! And obviously all the rest of the content. BTW I loved the black trousers and shoes you were wearing to the Theatre! And the kitties are just gorgeous.
My favorite part of the day! Hanging with my girl!!❤❤
“ I will literally tell someone my SSN to keep the conversation going” had me 😂😂😂 I get that… I am an extroverted introvert, IYKYK! I am good with one event per day and need to reenergise at home ❤ 😊 love all your vids CC x
Girl that rant about Jobs/education was everything! I'm so glad someone else thinks the same as I
Put a couple of open containers of baking soda in a couple of rooms and it will absorb the smell.
Got the notification for this video at the perfect time - Thanks for spending my lunch break with me I hope you're doing awesome!
Money shame is real ❤️
And I freaking love watching what you cook.

I know I've written that before but every time i see her it warms the cockles of my heart
awe 💓much love xx
9 years of post secondary education and at 40 I've just paid off my student loan. So happy for you, Chelsea. Well done!
Congratulations!!!!!!
Congratulations on paying off your student loan Chelsea!! I just paid mine off two a few months ago! I paid off $50k in 5 years and I am so proud of myself! It is such a relief :)
I love the painting in your bedroom… it’s such a vibe 😊
🛏️ ⛺ ~ The sponsored advertisements you do are priceless ... 👑
Everytime you dress up im just at a loss for words because of how good you look every time!!!!! ✨💕
also what you said at 15:15, about being street smart is exactly what i've been trying to put into words.
Just sat down for dinner, such good luck!
bon appetite
Chelsea I just turned 33 in May ! I feel the same as you, that when I turn 34 next year I will still feel young. I further agree that when we least expect it someone can walk into our lives.
Oh, hey, Lol, Buffalo, here! I’ll go for you. 😆
And wow, totally looking forward to your short film endeavor! Can’t wait!! 🫶
YES!!! you should go!! haha. and thank you
Wow, the rant about college really hit home for me. This is why I love your channel! Thanks for being so honest
❤❤❤
Ya age is just a number. My whole life changed in my 30’s . Left my fiancé after a 9 year relationship with him. Met my now husband, got married and then pregnant at 37… first time mom at 38, and now I’m living the best part of my life with a 9 month old baby and I’m turning 39 next month ✨
Hey, I watch you all...
Tisha, Alexa, Lucia and of course Chelsea!
I’m not into Sports really but I love just going out there and experience new things ❤
love your energy & cool NYFW-lifestyle experience vlog!!! ❤❤❤
Chelsssss!!! You’ve blossomed so much over the years into an amazing and more confident woman. Huge fan! You still give me the hip/fun chic side of Miranda Hobbs. LOVE IT! ♥️
You are so sweet 🥹🩷 thank you so much!! Also I chuckled because I’m watching SATC right now as I saw your comment haha
@@ChelseaCallahan 🤣🤣 love it!!!! ♥️♥️♥️
You’re a mega inspiration, Chels!
okay but why does the first fit reminded me so much of miranda from satc? like, the dress, the shoes, the hair und the over all effortless chic look? love it!
I love watching your videos and nice seeing @tisha in them too. Love both of you,
A recent new york city girl!
What a fun time! Looks like you all had a blast! I follow all your girls vlogs!! hoe great to see you all together!! 😍😍😍
I feel like Chelsea is my spirit animal living her best life in NY! 😍
Morning from Hawaii that was a good unfiltered life on this video
I love knowing that the people I follow get along with each other. you are beautiful
I am more impressed with street smarts , common sense and life experiences than a college degree ( which I have)
It’s always been my opinion that the people with street smarts make a much better employee than the one with just a piece of paper.. nuff said, love your puddies.. give them kisses for me 😻😉
Awwwwww Chelsea the wee little kitty standing on his back legs looking over the duvet, SOOOOOO cute.
Love that you were able to pay off your loans. So true about college. I just feel like educating yourself without a degree is valuable.
Love watching the antics of your kittens 🥰🐾
I love how you go to events and chat to people. I can do anything on my own except talk comfortably to other people. Maybe its a British thing.
Delilah is so cute when she snuggle sleeps with you.x
Always fun to watch and catch up with your life. Thank you !
I know it has been said already, but the way you made that ad your own, and kept me engaged the whole way through, bravo!!
Cutest Brooklinen ad I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a lot. Almost every creator I follow has done one but I skip most of them not gonna lie 😅
I didn’t skip this one!
Your videos are always such a treat for me. Thank you again. Give the cats a hug for me.
1:58 That first dress you tried on was f’n amazing 😳😳😳…. Especially with the brown boots
ahhh thank you!!
Your paid promotions are so creative and entertaining! Usually I would ff through, but I actually watch yours! Love your videos - thanks!
God, hearing you talk about the play... I really needed to hear that.
Hope you know you've touched someone's life. Someone far far away from where you are :)
Thank you
You do the best adds!
You make the most creative product ads that are genuinely a pleasure to watch. So creative!!
So awesome you’re going to make a short film. You go girl! Can’t wait to watch.
Enjoy your life ! And thank you for sharing your life with us. ❤😊
I've been watching you since 1 year you're like my family 👪 ❤
🫂♥️
I totally get it. I should be writing my 4th book but I’m in a slump. It will come but it’s frustrating. I’m a huge fan of yours Chelsea. I enjoy the small pleasures of a simple life. Keep up the good work!
2:56 the building is an eyesore tbfh
and yeah, as always, loved the video
happy friday!
Can we talk about the ad? SO WHOLESOME!
Gordo looked like a meerkat at the side of the bed - so funny haha
I am watching this vlog on my TV while having breakfast and grabbed my phone to say you are soooooo great Chelsea!!!! I love your content so much!
Interesting project to try out the short film! Hope it goes well. Can’t wait to watch it! 🎉
