Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by Hurricane Helene and her destruction even as the fell apart. If you're looking for a safe and secure way to donate toward disaster relief, I have a link for you: www.theyallsquad.org/
I've watched almost every one of your videos & for some reason you cracking the egg into Buster's food bowl & saying " here 'ya go, buddy" is my favorite moment so far!
I love everything about alllllll your videos!!!!! Glad you didn’t get the damage from Helene. I hope we start getting the rain you do. God bless sweet friend
Such a mix of emotions during this change of seasons. We are so thankful for the rain our pond is up to being about 2 feet low vs 3 feet, but my heart breaks for those who were hit hard. Hugs and prayers!
Shorts, t-shirt and boots. My go-to outfit! The flowers on the okra look similar to rose of sharron to me. Very pretty. My beautiful Margie, I wish she lived here with me. Lovely soggy video Heather, thank you!! 💜👍💜 Aunt Beth
Glad you're all doing ok. What a difference with the pond too. It's a shame about that happening with your pumpkins, but I'm glad you've found it out now to save the others.
One year we had a volunteer pumpkin vine come under our fence from the neighbors yard. It produced at least 40 pumpkins! My son in law planted pumpkins this year and I can't wait to see how many we get this year. 🎃
Yeah we also had kits of rain and light winds for two days here in lower Michigan. Glad your homestead is safe. Thank you for sharing till next time God Bless.
I have started watching this video 3 times and finally made it through! I kept hitting a random button and forwarding to a different video. I've been wondering how much rain you got, it's nice to see the pond refilled and no damage to the homestead.
I saw this and commented and liked. HMM it did not stay. Lets try again. Thank you for sharing. Thoughts and Prayers. Love and Blessings. Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
Wow! Welcome all the new members! That's awesome! It's yuck about so many pumpkins getting buggy, but I guess it's really 2 things: #1 now we know not to store them on the ground on their blossom ends and #2 now you definitely have food for the animals they consider a treat!
Hi Heather, it looks like your chickens think they are ducks. Haha. I am glad you and your family and the animals are all ok. We got a lot of rain and wind here in Daytona Beach Florida. That's standard this time of the year. Thank you. Have a great day.
It's hard to see because of the volunteer birdhouse gourd all over it but I have one. It's probably not strong enough for all the pumpkins, I think pallets would be better. Next time, all my pallets were keeping goats dry.
You got some rains, it's nice and green in Kentucky, but you didn't get Hellene like we got in Florida (the entire its western length day and night). It was windy and raining, of course, losing power. Awesome planting, foods for animals and people. Love to grow them, raising rabbits and chickens for home.
I may want to buy rabbits and chickens from you within a year or so (a pair of bunny and 3 hens, you know, for a start. I will have good home for them.
yes your right... cats need taurine which is put into cat food , dogs get upset tummy,s with taurine which can cause kidney , liver, failure, my dog loved the cat food, and in the end had to separate them from eating, she later died from stomach cancer....i,m not saying that was related, but vet said a possibility, i was devastated on my ignorance xx
Hey Heather - when using diatomaceous make a waterwell 2 inches from foliage. Sprinkle diatomaceous everywhere. Then choose to water in just your well. I use a 4 inch pot buried 2-3inches away from treated plants. Should kill your lot of bugs. My trick for me inTahoe😊
Ah yes farming in inclement weather. The part most people don't think about. Although I have learned to embrace all these seasons except tornado season lol
Right we don't mess with tornadoes lol!! However! We do what we can to prepare for them ahead of a storm coming that looks like it will have some risk to it.
I was wondering if I should pick my birdhouse gourds while they are green on the vine or should I wait till they are brown? I want to make bird houses out of them. Oh, and I absolutely love, love, love Winny! ❤❤❤
The pigs planted it and I never have had a seed packet for a white zucchini. My guess is it grew from seed that we fed the pigs that was out of a hybrid squash we grew called "sugaretti".
It might be too late in the season for that. But I need to get them off anyway. Sun scald makes sense being that I just took the tomatoes out and those were shading them somewhat!
lol DE probably not the most effective just before or in a tropical storm. You can really see how the goats keep that tree line by the pond in check for the bottom 4 feet lol.
The storm came and went pretty fast and the beds are good and dry on the mulch so the DE may have done something. I didn't see any bugs yesterday though so I haven't treated
@@SageandStoneHomestead I just know morning dew is enough to make DE useless lol Thanks for answering :) glad you made out on the better side of those affected by the storm

I love your videos. I'm glad you didn't get any storm damage.
I love how all the critters know you have their backs and are here to protect and feed them. They are so appreciative!

Awwwww poor Jack... he was giving you ALL the lovings for saving him lol.
He was a miserable wet-footed boy!
Glad to see you didn't sustain any damage from the storm.

Its devastating to see what this storm has done.
Such a heartwarming and inspiring vlog! ❤🌧 Love seeing the positive impact of the rain on the farm-keep up the amazing work! 🌱👏

Glad to know your family is safe….i love a good, rainy day. you have the nicest herd of goats!
Thank you!
Love the sound of rain. Stormy looks like she has an udder for a big hungry buckling. I hope she has a doeling, too. lol. ❤❤❤
She's got more than one for sure!
Glad you're all doing ok. What a difference with the pond too. It's a shame about that happening with your pumpkins, but I'm glad you've found it out now to save the others.
I have never seen a goat the color of the bigger chocolate brown one. She's beautiful🐐
That's Christine! She is a solid Chocolate :)
So glad you're officially out of a drought!!! Hip hip hooray!!!
Nice video.. I'm so happy you got some rain! 😁
Thank you! me too!

Wow that's amazing!!
Yeah, luck you, we get another hurricane next week. I do miss Helene since it missed us. I pray the new hurricane will spare most of us too.
Stay safe!
Yeah we also had kits of rain and light winds for two days here in lower Michigan. Glad your homestead is safe. Thank you for sharing till next time God Bless.
I'm happy everyone is safe and sound. I can't wait for all the fall kidding videos to start
Margies is posted! 🤩
I lost some of my pumpkin the same way. But I did have some to keep and some to share with family. My grandkids love pumpkin.
I love you, Heather, and thank you for your youtube videos.
♥ thank YOU for being here!
There are ingredients in cat food that can really upset a dog's tummy. Vet told us but it is a nutrients that cats have to have in their diet.
Yes someone else said tourine is the ingredient! Cats need it and dogs get bad bellyaches from it. Great to know for sure!
I have started watching this video 3 times and finally made it through! I kept hitting a random button and forwarding to a different video.

I do that on videos too!! LOL
Good Morning Heather

We have a cleanup crew for the pumpkin patch at the ready! Excited about it :)

Yes those goats have almost eaten that whole pumpkin! I've not seen the goats care much about pumpkin in the past!
Glad all is ok!😊

Maybe the chickens were influenced by the ducks we have!
@@SageandStoneHomestead you have ducks? What breeds? When are you going to show them? I like ducks.
Have a great day.
I sent you the rain. You are welcome! I want sun for a bit so my pumpkins can mature! Mine havent yet!
I'll send some sun! Together we will do it! Haha ♥
Stormy looks like she's about to pop. 😮
She's got triplets I swear!!!
For the pumpkins, maybe get one/ some of those metal shelves. They get off the ground and have air flow all the way around then. Just a thought

So happy to hear you guy's are doing well with the storms ..the greenhouse looks amazing ❤❤❤🕊️
First time I’ve seen the chicken. Pleasant surprise l love birds.
Oh interesting! They make appearances quite often in vlogs :)

I have picked them green and they have toughened up fine. You want to take them as long as you can on the vine though!
@@SageandStoneHomestead thank you for your help.
Hi Heather- the white zucchini variety you planted with your pumpkins. Do you happen to remember the variety? Thank you! ☺️
The pigs planted it and I never have had a seed packet for a white zucchini. My guess is it grew from seed that we fed the pigs that was out of a hybrid squash we grew called "sugaretti".
Your peppers have sun scald. If you remove them, it’ll help trigger the plants to keep growing new peppers.🌶️

@@79PoisonBreaker you're right! For both things! :)
Any baby goats yet ?!
Yes! Video coming Wednesday :)
I must have missed something! Chopstick trick? Plz explain.
It was a few vlogs ago we planted those seedlings and put in chopsticks as a way to keep the cats out of the bed. :)
Silly question but do the goats know to not go into the pond ?!
Yes! I've never seen one get into it or fall into it or come back mysteriously wet. I've seen some drink from it.
