Who else thinks this theme in particular, along with a snowmad themed stage should be in smash bros? Sure I may be pointing out the obvious, but at the very least this theme should be added as selectable music!
Yes! Yes! Yes! We have yet to see any ice related stages in the game yet. If they are struggling to think of one, Tropical Freeze is the perfect opportunity. I'm guessing they will, as they knew about the game already which was proved by Diddy's reveal at it's release.
I agree 100%. For the Wii U version, they should have a stage based on Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. The way I see it, it would be a seaside stage with DK's treehouse and the jungle in the background, but with a catch. The catch is that the Snowmads' flagship would occasionally sail over to the stage and the Snowmads would then deploy an ice dragon to cover the stage in ice and snow, like they did to DK Island at the start of Tropical Freeze. The stage would then be a slippery and icy stage similar to Icicle Mountain from SSBM and Summit from SSBB. After a while, the ice and snow will melt, and the cycle will repeat itself.

The theme's appartition in Homecoming Hijinx, Cliffside Slide and Meltdown Mayhem are just brilliant. Specifically these three stages show you how much the Snowmads have done in a videogame's worth of time, making Donkey Kong Island a proper final world (while being an amazing nod to Returns with every level themed as each world from it).
NeoSalvation Well, David Wise never worked on the "original" Donkey Kong Country 3. He composed the music for the GBA version (which is WHY it is a much better soundtrack despite the good work by Eveline Fischer). In fact, I want Wise to work on Metroid... (because Kenji Yamamoto did the OST from Returns and the Metroid Prime Trilogy).

This. music. is. epic. So freaking inspiring. Absolutely one of the best tunes in this game. For some reason, it reminds me of that ice dragon who froze DK Island. I've always wished that dragon had a bigger role in this game, since I'm a big fan of dragons.

Michael Peterson I never came so far in the boss battle. xD I'm usually really good at DKC games, but the final boss of this game is soooooo freaking hard! Even when you learn his patterns, then he does something unexpected which makes you die again. Really frustrating.
I'm using this as the soundtrack for working on my history assignment that's due tomorrow. This kind of tense music helps me concentrate on writing, for some reason. My assignment deals with WWI and this track feels surprisingly fitting.
I love how it starts off really empty sounding but then the trumpets and drums kick it, symbolizing that the DK crew is indeed back and ready to fight the snowmads and get their home back
Cranky: Stick together kids, this ain't your normal winter. Dixie: Owowow, it's too cold to stand still! I hope we can still go swimming after this... Diddy: This isn't good DK, what do we do now? _The second oldest Kong turned his gaze from his family to the frozen over volcano of their home island, a viscous snow storm circled around its very top. The vile imposing laugh of the Walrus King echoed down the slopes._ Donkey: First things first, *we take back our home.*
Little do many people know, this music was written to play alongside Nintendo's stealthy re-acquisition of Rare and their properties. This is the song that will give us Banjo Threeie. Then, they were like "yeah this sounds good for DKC too, throw it in." Look it up, it's on the internet. Somewhere. Probably.
This is not only a great Snowmads national anthem, but it also shows Donkey kongs extreme courage to get his island back! It's also fits that it plays on the most intense levels of the island known as Cliffside Slide and Meltdown Mayhem.
Yo that Snowmad leitmotif is sooooo good! I had it stuck in my head for days and couldn't anything about it except that it came from something icy and ominous.
Donkey Kong Country on the SNES was the first video game I ever played so the series is really close to me, this game is hands down my favorite game released on the Wii U it’s absolutely amazing how well they kept the franchise fresh, but kept the nostalgia there as well! This game is amazing!
I was utterly disappointed at first that there were no Kremlings, but somehow Tropical Freeze has ended up being my favorite out of all the Donkey Kong Country games, after 2 on SNES! I'm part Scandinavian and love the Viking theme in Tropical Freeze!
christoferkk Through recent studies, I have discovered the possibility of even MORE Pikmin types. Including Ice Pikmin. I believe they would help a lot.
This song is... WOWIE. The games been out for 5-6 years now, and that song STILL isn’t burnt up... cause it’s a song for a winter cold area, get it? No? oh ok...
As I'm listening to this again for once in a couple of years I'm realizing that it uses one instrument from each of the different DK song David has made throughout the series life span even adding in instrument from the newer songs in tropical freeze it self and all those instrument blend together to make a melody that has a beat from each of those songs. It truly is David's magnuopus a love letter to his 40+yrs of making DK songs all brought together with one instrument from every song to make a true homecoming melody like the beginning starts with a Somber version if the original DKC 1 first level theme then it quickly has a beat from jungle hyjinx and then aquatic ambiance and etc and then when it finally reaches it's climax adding in instruments from his songs in DK Freeze itself with a hint of David rendition of the DKCR final boss and secret temple beat adding in. It truly is a beautiful theme and my favorite of the whole soundtrack.
you know, ruined dk island could make a good ninjala stage by flipping the gameplay from pure fighting to having to navigate the ruined areas with precarious jumps, using cannon barrels to move into the area you want or must go in order to survive, all while fighting your rivals and the snowmads and the eviroment all at once, with this masterpiece playing the story chapter could be that the snowmads defeat and freeze the dark ninja tribe and the space ninjas, and when they clash with the main cast and dk and his family, they get to blow them away while the arenas and countries get frosted to near destruction, ending on a frosted dk island just like tropical freeze: an all out war traveling from the jungle to the volcano dome, for a final battle with fredrik after reclaiming the countries and the battle arenas, and with their victory everything goes back to normal
All though I have nothing against the Kremlings, I really hope that Frederick and the Snowmads become the next generation villians of the donkey kong series.
***** Plus, by that logic, if Rare did own the Kremlings, they would also own the rights to Diddy, Dixie, Cranky, and the other Kongs; thus Retro wouldn't be able to use them. I'm sure Retro just wanted different enemies.
While you and your friends were blown away, the Snowmads have taken over what was once your home: a lively, upbeat tropical island, and covered it with a large blanket of ice and snow, turning it into what is now nothing more but an icy wasteland only hospitable for those miserable ice vikings. And now that you have finally arrived after a long trail, there is only one thing left to do: take back your beloved island and get rid of all those Snowmads!
I think the thing I was most worried about with this game is if the music would be good as its seemed to be overlooked nowadays...well I was totally happy. Please game makers don't overlook music it can really send a game over the top and make it more memorable.
That's what I like about David Wise since DKC to Tropical Freeze. It feels so serious like you're fighting World War 2 in a game where some guys stole your banana. Too much feels in the music he's making. He's not seeing just that. He's seeing a whole adventure that is serious. He's a genius. They should hire him for more game musics. I hope he'll be there for the third episode and the Kremlings too. It would be like the ultimate game. Back with a vengeance
Espectacular, le debo mi infancia y ahora adolescencia a David Wise, un genio de la música, la mejor música de videojuegos que existe, muy épico, único e irrepetible
Loving this theme ever since they published the trailers... and also loving how it was used in key levels of Donkey Kong Island. Especially "Cliffside Slide"!
I know its the dorkiest most clique thing ever, but my lyrics from 0:37 to 0:55 We must not fall We will make our stand Through the treacherous mire Through the ice and sand They've taken our home But we must not flee We'll stand our ground And set this island free I know David Wise music is so good that it wouldn't need lyrics in a million years, but its just something I like to think up when songs like this get stuck in my head.
I know this is for a game about a moon-punching gorilla fighting arctic animal vikings for his island back, but whenever I hear this I suddenly imagine Hannibal Barca's march across the Alps with his army of war elephants in the dead of winter (0:30 especially giving vibes of titans stomping across a snowy cliffside)
I know it's probably really obvious to a lot of people but I've only just realized how each level(apart from the secret levels) in the final world represents a world from dkc returns. Homecoming hijinks-jungle world Seashore war-beach world Aqueduct assualt-temple world Blurry flurry-cave world Forest folly-forest world Cliff side slide-mountain world Frozen frenzy-factory world Meltdown mayhem-lava/final world
I'm now afraid to comment but also DK is not Kirby either, ever wonder why Meta Knight was so OP in Brawl? ... ... *runs* DAVID WISE IS STILL TIED WITH YOKO SHIMOMURA FOR MY FAVOURITE VIDEO GAME COMPOSER!!
Not gonna lie when I heard this in Homecoming Hijinxs I didn't like it that much but when I played Cliffside Slide I fell in love with it. It fits that stage so well.
A few years ago, whenever I was upset I used to play this song really loud out of my surround system. During the drum parts, I would move around the house like Donkey Kong and just act like him and be very aggressive and get up in my family member's faces. Once 00:46 kicked in, I would start throwing things around and start making loud chimpanzee noises, just going around the house flipping over chairs and throwing papers and stuff off tables and just making a huge mess of the house in minutes. My family came to dread the song whenever it played because they knew it meant one thing. Man, I miss those days
This song actually gives off the feeling that the kongs are fighting a war for their way of life
I mean, they are. They could not survive in an extreme cold climate
@Lost SoulSilver I could, I love the snow. I use to joke when I was playing. You know I’d let the snowmads stay.

I'm using this as the soundtrack for working on my history assignment that's due tomorrow. This kind of tense music helps me concentrate on writing, for some reason. My assignment deals with WWI and this track feels surprisingly fitting.
I love how it starts off really empty sounding but then the trumpets and drums kick it, symbolizing that the DK crew is indeed back and ready to fight the snowmads and get their home back
This is possibly one of the best in game tracks ever
Cranky: Stick together kids, this ain't your normal winter.
Dixie: Owowow, it's too cold to stand still! I hope we can still go swimming after this...
Diddy: This isn't good DK, what do we do now?
_The second oldest Kong turned his gaze from his family to the frozen over volcano of their home island, a viscous snow storm circled around its very top. The vile imposing laugh of the Walrus King echoed down the slopes._
Donkey: First things first, *we take back our home.*
Where the hell did come Daisy from nowhere? XD
Weren't you want to say _Dixie_ ?
@@Maxi-Gonz. It's Dixie? Jesus christ, fucking name similarities...
@@lucasfraczek4320 LMAO!
-Hi, I'm Daisy!~-
Has to be one of the most epic video game theme ever.
David wise=GENIUS!
Little do many people know, this music was written to play alongside Nintendo's stealthy re-acquisition of Rare and their properties. This is the song that will give us Banjo Threeie. Then, they were like "yeah this sounds good for DKC too, throw it in." Look it up, it's on the internet. Somewhere. Probably.
If only this was true :*( it saddens me to no end that "Right now our main focus is on motion-controlled sporting glory".
@@Nathanmg4 Good news from the future, Nintendo's actually making good games again
@@Ah0yKatie it all works out in the end :D
I envy Retro Studios. I can only imagine how much fun it was for them to create and design everything.
One of my favorite Soundtracks
This is not only a great Snowmads national anthem, but it also shows Donkey kongs extreme courage to get his island back! It's also fits that it plays on the most intense levels of the island known as Cliffside Slide and Meltdown Mayhem.
This is an instant classic.
Yo that Snowmad leitmotif is sooooo good! I had it stuck in my head for days and couldn't anything about it except that it came from something icy and ominous.
The Song is so great, it gives me chills and i feel i'm in a heavy snow storm
I thought ice levels could never be as hard as volcano levels...
I WAS WRONG
Gosh this song gives me nostalgia to back when this game came out 🥲
Is it safe to say that this is the theme song for this game? Because it's featured in a lot of the trailers.
I hope they put it in Smash 4.
no it plays on the first and last levels of world 6
Tcg Patrick It's still the theme song. It sets the tone for everything that surrounds the story of this game.
OneRandomVictory yes that is true this is just i know this word is used alot but epic
Yeah. The icy theme you hear is played in the opening cutscene.
And this song BETTER be in Smash4!
Smash ultimate
Donkey Kong Country on the SNES was the first video game I ever played so the series is really close to me, this game is hands down my favorite game released on the Wii U it’s absolutely amazing how well they kept the franchise fresh, but kept the nostalgia there as well! This game is amazing!
Yes
Love this love the game another winner all around
I miss the Kremlings but the Snowmads are pretty *cool* you gotta admit!
Pretty, "cool"
I like to think of Lord Fredrick as a cooler, pun intended, version of K Rool
They're great, I love the whole viking vibe
I'd say I like Tucks more than I like Kritters
I was utterly disappointed at first that there were no Kremlings, but somehow Tropical Freeze has ended up being my favorite out of all the Donkey Kong Country games, after 2 on SNES! I'm part Scandinavian and love the Viking theme in Tropical Freeze!
Huh. Once you notice the light riff that sounds like it's being played on an unplugged electric guitar in the background, you never un-notice it.
Holy crap, you are right.
Captain Olimar hey captain olimar, what would you do if you encountered the snowmads while on your adventures with the pikmin?
christoferkk Through recent studies, I have discovered the possibility of even MORE Pikmin types. Including Ice Pikmin. I believe they would help a lot.
@@bluepolarbear You were right about the ice pikmin
This is absolutely epic!
MY FAVORITE LEVEL IN A FROZEN VOLCANO WHERE EVERYTHING FALL BURNS AND MELTS INTO THE LAVA WITH A LAVA WAVE AT THE END
Man, David Wise is a GOD! Tropical Freeze's soundtrack in general has got to be one of the best ever.
This..this is my favorite song from this entire game it slaps hard guys
This song is... WOWIE. The games been out for 5-6 years now, and that song STILL isn’t burnt up... cause it’s a song for a winter cold area, get it? No? oh ok...
00:30 is the main reason people love this theme! Love it!!
I love this song!
One of the best games that İ have ever played.
I don't know a lot of DKCTF tracks until yet
But that one is definitifly one of the very best!
I always get goosebumbs realizing this is in a DK game.
I don't; DK games have always had godly music. : )
you know, ruined dk island could make a good ninjala stage by flipping the gameplay from pure fighting to having to navigate the ruined areas with precarious jumps, using cannon barrels to move into the area you want or must go in order to survive, all while fighting your rivals and the snowmads and the eviroment all at once, with this masterpiece playing
the story chapter could be that the snowmads defeat and freeze the dark ninja tribe and the space ninjas, and when they clash with the main cast and dk and his family, they get to blow them away while the arenas and countries get frosted to near destruction, ending on a frosted dk island just like tropical freeze: an all out war traveling from the jungle to the volcano dome, for a final battle with fredrik after reclaiming the countries and the battle arenas, and with their victory everything goes back to normal
This is so good!!! Like it's crazy how absolutely stellar this is!
Finally a completed version of this song. Thank you so much!
That name- Homecoming Hijinx is soooo good. 👌
All though I have nothing against the Kremlings, I really hope that Frederick and the Snowmads become the next generation villians of the donkey kong series.
Not that this idea would ever happen, but what if the Kremlings and Snowmads worked together?
it wouldn't work very well. the Kremlings are cold blooded. Plus rare happened
***** Kremlings aren't owned by Rare.
***** Plus, by that logic, if Rare did own the Kremlings, they would also own the rights to Diddy, Dixie, Cranky, and the other Kongs; thus Retro wouldn't be able to use them. I'm sure Retro just wanted different enemies.
@@TheAgm55246 oooh!
This is my favorite song in the whole game.
I think the thing I was most worried about with this game is if the music would be good as its seemed to be overlooked nowadays...well I was totally happy. Please game makers don't overlook music it can really send a game over the top and make it more memorable.
I'm finding more amazing music overall in modern video games than in the more retro video games, personally.
I love music, several games I seen have music I enjoy listening to...even if some are from games I really don't want to play.
This song is an absolute masterpiece. Every time I hear him I get goose bumps all over my body and I cry for sheer epicness!
DAVID WISE I LOVE YOU!!!
thx dude ive been looking this song for days
That's what I like about David Wise since DKC to Tropical Freeze. It feels so serious like you're fighting World War 2 in a game where some guys stole your banana. Too much feels in the music he's making. He's not seeing just that. He's seeing a whole adventure that is serious. He's a genius. They should hire him for more game musics. I hope he'll be there for the third episode and the Kremlings too. It would be like the ultimate game. Back with a vengeance
So far my favorite track in this game. Thank you David Wise. :)
Espectacular, le debo mi infancia y ahora adolescencia a David Wise, un genio de la música, la mejor música de videojuegos que existe, muy épico, único e irrepetible
o mais perto de um brasileiro que eu vejo escutando david wise além de mim :D
Loving this theme ever since they published the trailers... and also loving how it was used in key levels of Donkey Kong Island. Especially "Cliffside Slide"!
I know its the dorkiest most clique thing ever, but my lyrics from 0:37 to 0:55
We must not fall
We will make our stand
Through the treacherous mire
Through the ice and sand
They've taken our home
But we must not flee
We'll stand our ground
And set this island free
I know David Wise music is so good that it wouldn't need lyrics in a million years, but its just something I like to think up when songs like this get stuck in my head.
I like the lyrics...it makes sense.
Nice!
That gave me the chills. I'm such a dork.
i love when people do this, ahaha.
bruh this is AMAZING!!!
Homecoming hijinks-jungle world
Seashore war-beach world
Aqueduct assualt-temple world
Blurry flurry-cave world
Forest folly-forest world
Cliff side slide-mountain world
Frozen frenzy-factory world
Meltdown mayhem-lava/final world
The background from returns is there as well for instance the robot hand thing is frozen in the factory level and the bat is there from caves
Why the hell is this theme not in Smash 4?
Because Sakurai is an idiot.
GoGojiraGo Correct
GoGojiraGo
Do you really think sakurai is an idiot?
*****
Some of his decisions have been incredibly stupid, and his explanations for them even more so.
I'm now afraid to comment but also DK is not Kirby either, ever wonder why Meta Knight was so OP in Brawl?

Stuff3 lives on
This has to be the love child of David and Yamamoto. Both composers seem to showing there hallmarks in this song. And it is just incredible.
Yes! Been waiting for the full version of this since the sample! This sounds like it was pulled directly out of the old DKC games. :)
