The "Horn of the Goblin General" was considered a trash item in the game. It has three unknown conditions that never worked in YGGDRASIL, but can apply to "the new world" to allow its full power to be brought out. The light novel makes a point of saying it's not "the goblin horn" but that it's "the Horn of the Goblin General." This leads a reader to deduce two of those three conditions. 1) The person blowing the horn must be a goblin. Even though Enri is not a goblin by blood, she is a goblin, by adoption, under goblin law. All her previously summoned troops call her "Ane-ue," or "big sister." We have precedent from Volume 8 in the form of Agu, a hobgoblin who is the chief of his goblin tribe because he was adopted by the previous goblin chief, as a baby, and is officially recognized as a goblin by them. 2) The person blowing the horn must be a General. Enri had at least 3 levels in "General" before she blew the second horn. The third condition is still vague, but it's either commanding different species together, or blowing the horn in battle, or having a sufficiently large base of operations, and being the chief of Carne Village certainly qualifies. Another possible condition is "the total amount of enemies/the total combined level of the enemies must be X". Since heteromorphic races were not popular in YGGDRASIL in the first place, the amount of players with both the Goblin race and the General class could likely be counted on one hand to begin with, and on top of that, the Horn being known and dismissed as a low-level noob item meant that no one ever brought it to a raid or battle of sufficient scale or level to activate its full abilities to avoid wasting inventory space on it. Maruyama has stated that General Enri the Bloody's army is capable of defeating the Baharuth Empire's army (one of the strongest in the New World), and that's without counting the Thirteen Redcaps who are all level 43 (which makes them stronger than Death Knights - and Death Knights are able to destroy small nations by themselves).
To be frank the information of the true power of the goblin horn could have been discovered by any unknown guild that kept said information to itself. One of the key features of YGGDRASIL was the fact that any information about it was never given to the public not even from the makers of the game itself EVERYTHING had to be discovered by the players from areas to items and their functions. Because of this feature of the game it was a iron clad rule and common practice to withhold information from others outsides of your guild since information like that had a value in of itself.

And Enri is now in command of one of the strongest military forces in the New World lol. EDIT: As for Lupusregina's mention of not being as good as Solution, Solution loves to torture her victims. Think of the guy from way back in season 1 while she and Sebas were with Shalltear, she slowly dissolved the guy inside of her body while he screamed in terror. Lupus herself has been said by Yuri Alpha (the maid w/ glasses) to be just as sadistic and evil as Solution is. It is even worse with her since she is a cleric w/ access to strong healing magics, so she can just torture someone, heal them, then torture them again. Plus, the creator of Overlord (Maruyama) has mentioned that Lupus can get even crueler at night during a full moon...
The funniest part is that her army is the must powerful among human country, except the Plane Theocracy. She, alone, can win against Re-Estize and Baharuth in this point.

I got this theory that overcoming the fear of certain death in the new world really levels up a character because in the light novel Enri was basically paralyzed with fear when the fake knights attacked her village but she managed to move enough in order to shield her sister from a knights sword and she later kinda got abilities to control goblins and orcs. Then Climb did the same by flinching to dodge Sebas when he thought of the golden princess and he started showing a lot more potential as a warrior.. then there's Brain who ran from Shalltear but later faced her head on and OVERCAME HER NAIL haha maybe in season 4 he levels up but what you think about my theory?
@@iLikeToColor69 hmm...the theories so far are a bit far...i guess...i really can't say much about those characters... maybe someone will just spoil here anyway hehe...but all i can say is....it gets very very dark turn to some characters/events....i don't know if they will tone down some events that happened in the Light Novel or change some scenes, but i hope they do it justice... and i don't know if they can cover up the whole story arc in a short series since i think this will be again a 13 episode season... all i can say is... they will do some Game of thrones type of shit to most characters here...hehe

Honestly I don't even feel anything with the cgi the first time I watched it. For me they are fine, but if I have to give points it will be where I subtracte the score.

One thing that you guys didn't mention and may not have known is that E-Rantel (Re-Estize as a whole) is ran by its nobles. The nobles have a faction that King Romposa has continually struggled to maintain his authority over. Think of them like a union. The reason Ramposa couldn't simply hand it over is because Jircniv as well as every other nation signed the agreement (The Slane Theocracy hates re-Estize because of the blatant corruption, Jircniv saved Baharuth from the same fate). If Ramposa simply agreed, then he would lose his loose favor with the nobles by appearing weak. All in all, it's pretty subtle politics. The reason why Barbaro was the way he was is because he supported the Noble Factions that were ruining the country so they would approve his ascension to the throne.

From my understanding even "trash items" can have super powerful effects if you meet certain conditions I think because enri was nice and respected the goblins the horn in her hands does more hence goblin army
Light novels fans have come to a possible conclusion that their were three criteria to use the full power of the horn. First you need some levels in the leader or general job class. You need a positive relationship with the goblin faction. And you need to be under attack by an outnumbering force where the horn will spawn goblins proportional to said enemy force.
Glory for GENERAL ENRI THE BLOODY. You just witnessed her first to many of her victories. Might I also point out that Lupus can heal people. Perfect ability for torture without killing your victim.
as others no doubt have informed you(should have informed you about a season ago) Solution is a slime. that guy she got permission to 'play with'? probably spent about a week getting 'digested'. :kept more or less alive throughout, just because she could. we know for a fact he was still alive a while after she'd 'swallowed him up'(as in, a hand pushing out of her face at one point, according to the book)
I was kinda hoping the reason why the 5,000 army came was because general Enri was cool with all the goblins who ended up living there in there village and also the little goblin boy she saved .

How I think of the “goblin general horn” there is a line from another show that Director has a reaction to on his channel “Your a general James, who do you send in first? The flag bearer or the scouts?” So to me the 1st horn summoned a small group of goblins (scouts) then the 2nd horn summoned an army (flag bearer)
At the end of the episode, what Lupusregina was saying is that she is not as good at torturing as Solution but she is still skillful, that is the meaning of that dialogue. Between the battle maids, Solution and Lupusregina are very sadistic as we know and they both love torture, but Lupusregina just recognizes that Solution is better in that area than her.
Any random class using the horn item is not the same as a "high" level "commander" class using it... Just like a fire pokemon using an electric attack won't be the same as an electric pokemon using an electric attack... packs a different level of punch... First time Enri used the horn she was a Lv 1 villager... now she is a Lv X commander using a summoning horn...
it would have been a valuable lesson to the people who thought they knew how the world worked about what happens to people who mess with the property of our dear Overlord, if it weren't for the fact that the only ones with any real chance of having survived were the ones who ran away from the ogres. :)
I just need the understanding of red caps is alone could have killed that army by themselves. Red caps can throw horses with one hand and can heal themselves. They where overpowered and the fact she had 13. That army was doomed.
You have to realize that having a meeting would not have worked with the kingdom. The reason is because the nobles who are backing up the King and the nobles who are against the king have a lot to lose mainly territory. Also Princess Renner would be helping Aniz by getting rid off many of the nobles who have influence and power in the kingdom. Making her the most powerful monarch in the kingdom since she has the backing of Blue Rose. This is a plan that she was able to pull off with the help of Demiurge.
Each of the Battle Maids Pleiades has a distinct race of their own, you've already seen most of them but you might find it hard to guess what race Lupus Regina is... => There's been a few hints up to this point though, so you might be able to figure it out.

Yes you can gather troops while you stall, but you know what else could be done? Talks with others, gathering of information. But, the country is ruled by unremarkable people at best and coplete idiots at worst.
They can't fathom the idea of a sorcerer can destroy one of the biggest country on the continent at will. So they sideline Ainz and use him as a mean for their political gain. Also, the real situation of the Kingdom is already not good. They can't afford to give up E-Rantel because how much it provides without trying to fight, furthermore having a war can set up for a diplomatic table if you believe you can win, in which case they are confident in their power.

If you believe you can gain an advantage in a fight and giving up a super important valuable thing to you without a fight, will you give it up? Not to mention the period of the Empire attack is in line with their usual war between two countries, all the nobles believed it was just a claim for a war. They even brought extra armies. Between a sorcerer who names is unknown, and the country's biggest threat, the Empire, it is very easy to sideline the hidden threat because they all think that the Empire would consist of most of the enemies power so they based their treatment on how they deal with the empire, not a random. As a matter of fact, they treated Ainz in very high regard, it's just that it's beyond their imagination they have to fight someone like that. Your option of diplomacy falls flat when their starting interest is not the sorcerer, but the Empire, they acted based on previous wars with the Empire, it's a common managing mistake but it's how ancient management work. Like why would they consider giving up E-Rantel for the opponent when the fight is believed to be equal, it's an annual war, and there is no need for diplomacy speaks because it happened every year (that is what their experience told them).

I have a theory that when Ains first met Enri he gave her a blood red potion (Healing) right. So she must have gained some power or increased several levels to do what she does.
Huh no that's just a normal healing potion I'll support Tammy's hypothesis what I think happened is after she summoned the first batch of goblins she became friends with them and even her orders have the same effect as demiurge so in the middle she must have gotten the goblin general class or something which led to the activation of the horn of the goblin general
It was either the use of the potion or the first horn. It did not give her any levels by themselves, but it allowed her to start earning xp. The levels probably came from having command of the goblin squad so long. Either they are treated like being in a party, where they share XP, meaning every time they fought some of their XP would go to her, or they are treated like summons, where all their XP gains go straight to her

you all missed the point this wasnt just about a small piece of land to make a kingdom remember that the end goal is world conquest and you dont do that by asking and buying land you do it by a massive display of power and a just cause for your continued land taking with as little trouble as possible plus remember who came up with the plan in the first place and why it was renner to have climb and she cant do it in the society she lives in so she has to make a new one

So now General Enri has one of the largest armies in the territory and is allied with Ainz, no worries about anymore raids on the village.

The reason Ainz summoned redcaps is explained in the LN and never in the anime--these were the *weakest* goblins that he could summon.

One thing that you guys didn't mention and may not have known is that E-Rantel (Re-Estize as a whole) is ran by its nobles. The nobles have a faction that King Romposa has continually struggled to maintain his authority over. Think of them like a union.
The reason Ramposa couldn't simply hand it over is because Jircniv as well as every other nation signed the agreement (The Slane Theocracy hates re-Estize because of the blatant corruption, Jircniv saved Baharuth from the same fate). If Ramposa simply agreed, then he would lose his loose favor with the nobles by appearing weak.
All in all, it's pretty subtle politics.
The reason why Barbaro was the way he was is because he supported the Noble Factions that were ruining the country so they would approve his ascension to the throne.

From my understanding even "trash items" can have super powerful effects if you meet certain conditions I think because enri was nice and respected the goblins the horn in her hands does more hence goblin army
Light novels fans have come to a possible conclusion that their were three criteria to use the full power of the horn.
First you need some levels in the leader or general job class.
You need a positive relationship with the goblin faction.
And you need to be under attack by an outnumbering force where the horn will spawn goblins proportional to said enemy force.

Might I also point out that Lupus can heal people. Perfect ability for torture without killing your victim.

She use the horn of general goblin, and this react with the class che got, "general". For that, the horn summum more than it was supposed to summon.

How I think of the “goblin general horn” there is a line from another show that Director has a reaction to on his channel
“Your a general James, who do you send in first? The flag bearer or the scouts?”
So to me the 1st horn summoned a small group of goblins (scouts) then the 2nd horn summoned an army (flag bearer)
At the end of the episode, what Lupusregina was saying is that she is not as good at torturing as Solution but she is still skillful, that is the meaning of that dialogue. Between the battle maids, Solution and Lupusregina are very sadistic as we know and they both love torture, but Lupusregina just recognizes that Solution is better in that area than her.

I just need the understanding of red caps is alone could have killed that army by themselves. Red caps can throw horses with one hand and can heal themselves. They where overpowered and the fact she had 13. That army was doomed.
You have to realize that having a meeting would not have worked with the kingdom. The reason is because the nobles who are backing up the King and the nobles who are against the king have a lot to lose mainly territory. Also Princess Renner would be helping Aniz by getting rid off many of the nobles who have influence and power in the kingdom. Making her the most powerful monarch in the kingdom since she has the backing of Blue Rose. This is a plan that she was able to pull off with the help of Demiurge.
PS: Lupusregina tortured him for thirty minutes. After that, she gave him her permission to die.

Yes you can gather troops while you stall, but you know what else could be done? Talks with others, gathering of information. But, the country is ruled by unremarkable people at best and coplete idiots at worst.
They can't fathom the idea of a sorcerer can destroy one of the biggest country on the continent at will. So they sideline Ainz and use him as a mean for their political gain. Also, the real situation of the Kingdom is already not good. They can't afford to give up E-Rantel because how much it provides without trying to fight, furthermore having a war can set up for a diplomatic table if you believe you can win, in which case they are confident in their power.

@@dominikmagnus i said so because they actually have solid believable reasons to act like that, not flexing LN knowledge. And I do enjoy commenting on this show, as I am a fan. If you believe you can gain an advantage in a fight and giving up a super important valuable thing to you without a fight, will you give it up? Not to mention the period of the Empire attack is in line with their usual war between two countries, all the nobles believed it was just a claim for a war. They even brought extra armies. Between a sorcerer who names is unknown, and the country's biggest threat, the Empire, it is very easy to sideline the hidden threat because they all think that the Empire would consist of most of the enemies power so they based their treatment on how they deal with the empire, not a random. As a matter of fact, they treated Ainz in very high regard, it's just that it's beyond their imagination they have to fight someone like that. Your option of diplomacy falls flat when their starting interest is not the sorcerer, but the Empire, they acted based on previous wars with the Empire, it's a common managing mistake but it's how ancient management work. Like why would they consider giving up E-Rantel for the opponent when the fight is believed to be equal, it's an annual war, and there is no need for diplomacy speaks because it happened every year (that is what their experience told them).

I have a theory that when Ains first met Enri he gave her a blood red potion (Healing) right. So she must have gained some power or increased several levels to do what she does.

I'll support Tammy's hypothesis what I think happened is after she summoned the first batch of goblins she became friends with them and even her orders have the same effect as demiurge so in the middle she must have gotten the goblin general class or something which led to the activation of the horn of the goblin general
It was either the use of the potion or the first horn.
It did not give her any levels by themselves, but it allowed her to start earning xp.
The levels probably came from having command of the goblin squad so long.
Either they are treated like being in a party, where they share XP, meaning every time they fought some of their XP would go to her, or they are treated like summons, where all their XP gains go straight to her

you all missed the point this wasnt just about a small piece of land to make a kingdom remember that the end goal is world conquest and you dont do that by asking and buying land you do it by a massive display of power and a just cause for your continued land taking with as little trouble as possible plus remember who came up with the plan in the first place and why it was renner to have climb and she cant do it in the society she lives in so she has to make a new one
I've just recently caught up with the light novels. I knew Renner was hiding something sinister, but I'm still surprised to the extent of her scheme lol She really is a genius, that even demiurge and albedo -- Nazarick's smartest people -- acknowledge Renner's intellect
