V's real name is Kim Taehyung. Born in 1995... He joined Big Hit at 15 and was 17 when BTS debuted.
For a Baritone in KPOP, V has widest vocal range (as per real vocal analysts) of Eb2 ~ C6 (3 octaves, 5 notes and 1 semitone), which means he can also hit high octaves with ease.... this vocal assessment was done in 2018 and it is said his vocal range is even greater now.
He is multitalented. A Singer, Dancer, Composer, Producer, Songwriter, Actor, Entertainer, Photographer, Artist, Painter.... an old soul he loves vintage, a jazz lover he plays saxophone, piano, violin, and learning trumpet

V is the maknae (youngest) of the group and he is a few years younger than them all.

yeah, I’ve only seen Jung Kook and V I like them both so much I can’t decide which one I like better. They’re both so different, but that doesn’t mean that I like either one of them more. Taehyung is an old soul, he grew up listening to jazz music and he even plays the saxophone and trumpet whenever he has time. Unfortunately Taehyung is in the military now and won't be home for another 300+ days but he left behind so many beautiful songs, Fri(end)s and Wherever U are is two songs I also love deeply

Korea is a country like any other. There is all kinds of music coming from it, not just bubblegum pop as so many assume. Just because BTS is from Korea does not mean that they only make pop music. BTS (as soloists and a group) have the most varied discography I’ve ever seen; and they absolutely nail any genre they do. Enjoy your journey down the rabbit hole, and be prepared to be impressed. 💜

BTS always went against the grain of what was typical fir kpop. They always experimented with genres and always made music with sincerity and not just as nonsense content
BTS is like 7 Avengers each member is ridiculous how talented but different each one is. V is just so sweet and humble but loves jazz and NeoSoul which suits him well. He’s also been named the #1 most handsome man in the world and in Asia many years in a row so how he remains his soft shy humble self is a tribute to how all of BTS are. He can go very high and very low with his voice. He plays multiple instruments also. It took him a long time to come out with this album because he wanted it to be perfect and him, which he did!

He's currently doing his military service as Military Police Officer (MP) he'll be back with us in June 2025. They are 7 highly talented solo artist's who choose to be together as a super group they've been through the fire and forged a brotherhood bond. They've always had solo songs outside of BTS album and within BTS album along with duets and sub unit tracks. The 3 Rapper have always lead the way with solo work it's so great to see them all bring out solo albums now. They are extremely supportive of each other work and see it as part of 'Artist Development'. They do what they want basically.

Dear Sir, in my opinion this is NOT Kpop, THIS IS BTS. BTS was born in K-pop but they outgrew it.
BTS has 7 very talented members. The only advice I can give you if you continue this BTS journey is "leave all your misconceptions about the music industry behind and listen with an open mind"

It sounds like V is almost like the backbone of the group? If that’s true, I believe it he seems like a very dependable, gentle, caring soul. I really connect with his personality on stage the way he presented himself and shared the stage with the rest of the group so willingly and they just had so much fun together it was awesome. Yeah, I love watching the live versions, but I also really enjoy the official music videos because I come from a acting and film background and I love seeing a finished products of film because there’s always some symbolism and hints of meaning that are hidden in the videos, and I love finding those it’s like a puzzle You just have to find the pieces and put them together. Thank you for your reaction and appreciation for V's smooth jazzy music. You mentioned several times that he seems like such a humble person and you couldn't be more right. V and his other six bandmates of BTS are all very humble which is so unexpected especially since they are a global superstar phenomenon. I love how V allows the music and fellow bandmates to share his limelight. He doesn't play center stage to the rest of them and this makes the song more interesting. Please continue to explore V's discography and the rest of the BTS members as soloists as well as a group. It's all so, so good. Besides music the members also star in their own variety (Run BTS) and staycation shows (In the Soop). These really allow you to get to know them as people. When listening to the terms k pop or boy band, it is common for many people to activate prejudices and not want to get into the content; some consider it only commercial, without a message, without talent, etc.
BTS is the opposite, there is art and very good messages in many of their songs, the 7 members are super talented, they know music, they play instruments as part of their hobbies, they compose, write, produce, they can even participate in other creative aspects and in their solo careers they have also reaped achievements. They have also managed to have the most diverse and largest fandom, we are millions of people from all continents, without a language barrier since there will always be volunteers who translate all the contents of the group in a matter of minutes or hours; there is also no limit by musical tastes, as there is for everyone; neither is the genre a limit, there is diversity here just like in age because you find from babies who dance to BTS music to great-grandparents who even go to concerts, counting on the support of other ARMIES that if they see that they need help they will always have it.
In the case of BTS they started as an idol group (that's how it's called in Korea) of hip hop but in the years that they have been in their career they have dabbled in different genres and have very good fusions.
In their solo careers each one defined the direction they wanted based on what they like the most. In the case of V, he discarded the composition and writing work that he had already done for years, selecting others that he wanted to offer us on his album Layover (V is a jazz and R&B lover).
For years V has shown that he is a music lover and loves to make recommendations to ARMY, jazz is an important part of them. You should see "Le jazz de V"f with 2 covers in his cronner facet.

Easiest to think in these terms. K-Pop is an industry . It covers most genres and includes soloists and groups and is a term used mostly in the west to indicate that the artist is from Korea and has music that is popular. In Korea they don't really use the term K-Pop. They call groups like BTS... Idols (or Idol groups). It is not common for Idol groups to write their own music or be so involved in their art. BTS are all songwriters, composers and producers and have broken thru the barriers that come with being called "KPop Idols" and have become "Global Artists" instead. That said, they are extremely proud of their country of birth, so being referred to as KPop stars does not bother them.. The reason so many ARMY get upset is that it is usually used in a derogatory manner when people just dismiss BTS as some little KPop boyband. As you will find most (not all) of KPop and western boybands is being forced to sing innane lyrics to boppy tunes and no real substance. BTS bridges generational boundaries - for instance 5 generations of my family adore these 7 humble young men (from 90 yo grandma to my 2yo grandson)... I've been ARMY since 2016 (I'm 52 Australian and a Metalhead)

Loved your reaction! I can relate. I laughed at my daughter, who is an ARMY (BTS fandom), for two years because of my preconceptions regarding Kpop. During the pandemic I stumbled upon a reaction to them and thought I would give it a try. Boy was I wrong! I was sucked into the BTS rabbit hole and never left.
A little information: BTS is a 7 member group from South Korea with 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. They've been together for over 10 years. They started out as a hiphop group but quickly evolved their musical style to include multiple genres.
Every member is equally talented and brings something different to the table. They all have solo work which is excellent, but when they come together as a group it's pure magic.
A lot of their songs have a deeper meaning and touch on subjects such as self love/acceptance, mental health and problems within our modern day society.
Since South Korea is technically still at war with the North, all able bodied men have to serve in the military. All 7 members are currently enlisted and will reunite as a group in 2025.
I have subscribed and am looking forward to watch your journey discovering BTS and the members!

I'm excited for your journey into BTS, brace yourself! The group is truly excellent but my favorite is V. His baritone voice is so distinct in a very tenor-centric industry. He really gives off a very cool vibe in his solo songs but when he performs with the group, his stage presence is explosive. You'll really see the contrast when you react to V's Stigma Live Stage and then watch him in something like BTS's ON Kinetic Manifesto. BTS is an amazing group, but I gotta said that V (Tae) really have all my heart, he's my bias, such an angel, gentle and humble human being. He's also really really really talented, Taehyung won Most Handsome Man in the world since 2017 until 2024, I think people often just see his visual and forget to look deep in the amazing artists and person he is.
Taehyung was born in Daegu, it's a province of Korea far from the capital (Seoul), his family and him were farmers, his parents struggled with money so to do the best for him and keep working to save money, Taehyung was raised with the help of his farmer grandfathers... He expressed that he loved his grandma as a second mom 💕
Taehyung moved to Seoul after he passed an audition he never intended and started training in the small music agency Big Hit with the rest of BTS members.
His life sadly has been a very hard path, he lost his grandma in 2016 while he was in Tour, in 2018 he lost his grandfather and he had a severe burn out with the group (he only talked about that until 2023), he also expressed fighting with insomnia and depression in 2020, but thank God he's very healthy nowadays, he appreciate his love ones so so so much, he really is a guy of gentle values.
If I start talking about his talents I'm never gonna shut up, he's often described as 4D, that means he's such a unique guy with all the abilities, he's into jazz music, abstract art and fotography, he also likes acting, sports (he thinks he's not that good, but he's so athletic and competitive) and he indeed is so handsome that brands fight for him, he's now ambassador of Cartier and Celine.
Most searched person in Google Wikipedia, Record Guinness for the fastest Ig account to reach 1M and 10M followers, he's called the "Idol Of Idols" and "Stage Genius", he's studied for years by new trainees in the K-Pop scene in a diverse of entertainment companies. Now he's serving military with proud in the most dangerous elite unit in South Korea, this guy is really something.
I admire him a lot for not giving up, for stayed true to himself and never change his kind heart 💜💜

Well, that is a crazy backstory to hear. I myself suffer with anxiety and depression very badly actually and I had a similar situation with my grandparents. They both passed away on my birthday your part from each other well the day after my birthday year apart from each other and 2021 in 2022 very much, looked up and respected my grandfather, as I didn’t have a father figure in my life for a steady father figure that I could look up to besides him. Maybe that’s why feel such a connection to V he’s a man that has my own heart. Basically it seems like he has a lot more strength and willpower than I do, though fighting in the military in a Unit like that and just being a very strong moral man that drives after his passions with a ferocity. That’s really awesome thank you so much for sharing all that with me that makes me respect him and understand why I feel so close to him without only seeing more than one video of him. @Thetazord I'm so sorry for your loss and same, I relate to him so much for similar reasons, I lost people and I suffer from anxiety disorders, insomnia and depression since the pandemic and stress since I was like 8 years old (family problems). Taehyung is an artist that not only I can relate in many aspects (I'm studying photography and Graphic Design), he's also the one that literally was and js with me with his music in those nights I can't relax or sleep, his music makes my heart feel comfortable and warmth, I often like to hear him speak about things, he's such a gentle speaker💞
BTS really saved my life in 2021 and I'm so grateful for that, they make me dream and love again ✨️

I see the comments talking about BTS as a whole, so I'll stick to a biased comment. Tae aka V has my fav vocal tone and color in the group. As a 90s baby I grew up loving smooth jazz, R&B and neo soul music. They make such music as a group, but Tae really just stands out for me with his songs Singularity and Stigma within the group. He has a deep appreciation for jazz which started when he learned to play the saxophone.
His solo debut album/ep which these songs are from is immaculate in my opinion. It features all the genres I've mentioned plus a surprise lofi hip hop track Rainy Days. The track Blue gives a soulful contemporary jazz feel.
There's also his most recent drop Friends & Wherever u r (Umi ft V)
Anyway your reaction was really enjoyable. Loved the genuine appreciation for Tae's voice. I think he isn't as appreciated as much because of his lower register IN MY OPINION. Some people equate higher voices with more talent. He said that he was worried people might hear his lower tone and get bored. Which is ridiculous because he can also hit an extremely high falsetto for a baritone. His vocal range is nothing to undervalue (as it is done somuch IMO)

He's an anamoly in the kpop industry and BTS. Totally different. He was lost in the high pitches so BTS music yet his vocals and stage presence lent a depth to many of their songs where he had more lines and also made them more iconic with his stage presence and visuals.
