- Full game longplay of ShellShock: Nam '67, a third person shooter, released by Guerilla Games on September 2004 on the PC, PS2, and the Xbox. Played on an original Xbox hardware, in widescreen mode, and a 480p progressive mode display hacked in via ogxHD (it originally run at only 480i).
***Friendly, clickbaity disclaimer - recorded in OBS in full 4K resolution due to the game using this sort of heavy film grain post proccess, which works VERY poorly with the youtube's compression, hence the need for the highest bitrate possible.
Started playing on Medium, but then my Xbox's HDD died, and when I loaded in the save, it changed to Easy somehow. There is no way to change the difficulty in-game or anything. Rip. Also, it was pretty hard later on still, even on Easy. Kind of bullshit, bubt oh well, at least doable.
Note: there are moments when the audio sounds somewhat muted or messed up, it's due to the licensed music being "muted" by TH-cam itself, music like Pretty Woman etc. Very copyright heavy.
ShellShock: Nam '67 is a pretty uninspiring game, definitely average or even below average. Just your standard run of the mill third person shooter, nothing too crazy or exciting in the story, gameplay is nothing out of ordinary. Pretty interesting design with the intermission fragments, where you are free to roam your camp and spend your dogtags and whatever, that's pretty interesting. Quite a lot of gore, and brutality, and that's the way it should have been. But overall, I've played much better, and much more "advanced" TPP shooters, this one is pretty bland in comparison. 6/10 maybe? Not a fan.
The game starts in January 1967 in Saigon, South Vietnam. A CH-47 Chinook containing Caleb "Cal" Walker, the game's protagonist, and other G.I.s, lands at Tan Son Nhut Air Base in southern Saigon. Walker, along with his squad mate, Private "Psycho" Kowalski, are chosen by Colonel Salter, the CO, to participate in an air assault on a Viet Cong encampment within Kon Tum province. Walker and Kowalski are put under the command of Lieutenant O'Brien along with another G.I. nicknamed "Short Timer". As Caleb and his squad proceed through the area, a friendly fire incident, involving flawed mortar coordinates, forces another G.I. named Tompkins, to join the squad. Along with the help of a special operations squad made up of Sergeant Ramirez, "Tick Tock" and "Eyeball", they help Walker and the others clear out the VC encampment. The encampment is soon after converted to a fire base, which serves as a headquarters for Walker and his unit. Soon after, Walker's squad is tasked with investigating VC activity in a nearby village.

God this brought back memories. I remember as a little kid I’d watch my dad play this during the day, and whenever my mom was at work or went to the store he’d let me play it. Such simpler times

I played this game when I was a kid 11 years old, in ps2 😢 thankyou so much man and I hope they bring it back again on Xbox series x!!!
I still think to this day, shell shock nam is my all time favorite game. Defending that castle from being overrun when I was a kid I thought I was really doing something 🤣😂 I miss the feeling of playing this game.

I think the walking sound on metal at start from chopper, is same as in Return to Castle Wolfenstein, when enemies walk on metal/cat walk, isn´t it? :D :D
