Mass at the Faldstool, in the prescence of...the Papal Nuncio? Stupendous. The Orthodox have retained all their splendid rites, why did we have to lose ours?
I love to see this Traditional Latin Mass or Tridentine Mass even though I never went to. Lucky for the people who were born and still can experienced the Tridentine Mass ere Novus Ordo like today’s.
I’m very blessed to live in a city that has two different parishes that only do the Tridentine Latin Mass and never the Novus Ordo. They only do the pre 1955 rubrics for the Mass and not the revised one by John XXIII where the 1961 missal is used. The parish I go has daily Mass and on Sundays they have 3 Masses. I go to the 5:00 PM one. It would be wonderful if all cities and towns had at least one traditional Catholic Church and with daily Mass. God bless you and Mary keep you!
The editing of this is a shambles. It's the start, then the middle, then the end, then back to the middle, then the start, then the end, then the middle, then the start, end, middle, start, middle, start, end, middle, end, start, end, middle, end, end, start, end, end, middle. It makes Bubbles out of Absolutely Fabulous look organised.
This is a rather badly edited piece! The order chops and changes (and repeats) I think this records part of the celebrations for the 150 anniversary of the restoration of the Catholic hierarchy in England and Wales. The Mass is celebrated by Archbishop Godfey, then Apostolic Delegate, later Archbishop of Liverpool, and later still, Archbishop of Westminster. The prelate in the long cloak (cappa magna) is Bernard Cardinal Griffin, Archbishop of Westminster. He is seen at one point exiting a car, his attendant is Mgr Derek Warlock, himself later Archbishop of Liverpool
Note the train on the prelatial choir cassock, buttoned up for the canons, but let down for the Bishop-celebrant of the Mass, ‘Coram’. It was to be abolished by Pius XII shortly after this video was made.
I know you don’t want to hear it but there were no women doing the Catholic Mass prior to Vatican II. Even in the traditional Roman Catholic Mass’ today there are no women. The Mass is based on the death of Jesus on Calvary. The men assisting the priest are usually clergy like deacons. I’m thinking the reason for alter boys is to interest them into becoming priests. To truly understand why there are no women assisting at the traditional Latin Mass’ one probably would benefit from learning the history of the Mass itself. I love the history.
Vatican II has stripped catholicism of 2000 years of tradition. The empty churches of the modern era crave for the reverence of the Latin high mass. Today's churches look more Protestant than they do Catholic
@@MrSteelermania I hope that is not an insult to protestants? We never forced your church to change your liturgy, please don't try and putting blame for the second Vatican council changes on us. Is that what you are implying?

Where do you live? You never know you might have a TLM fairly close to where you are. I go every week. It is wonderful and very spiritual.
Deo Gratias.
When Catholicism was Catholic

Great to see this video but the description on this is wrong in parts. It's clear its written by someone not familiar with Traditional Catholicism
Great to see this but someone does need to do some judicious editing on it....
I quite agree that the editing is quite atrocious

100 not 150 was 2000

In the pews where they should be.
In the Convent?
HORRIBLE SKIPS!
Makes one glad for Vatican II.
Although I would like to see ad orientem and kneeling for the Eucharist restored.

@ransomcoates546 Revolting.
the quality or the mass? 🤣
@oliverlee-os6tr Glad you inquired. It's not the Mass itself; it's all that crushing ostentation. It's way over the top and, to me disedifying.
très beau mais tellement loin de la simplicité du Christ.
Entonces por que Dios pidió que le adoraren en el Templo de Salomón con prendas caras?
