Lived in One Uptown Residences two years ago and paid for the same unit 27k/month (incl. association dues). Pretty confident I‘d get the same rate again or even lower. Don‘t forget it‘s a renters market in BGC. So there is always room for negotiation. The condo itself is great; the only problem I had was with the 2 standard air conditioner that come with every unit: 1. They have no inverter, so the electric bill would be twice as high 2. The engine/s are installed under the floor, so it gets pretty loud.

@@michaelcorleone8795 yep I think this guy is getting ripped off hard just because he is a foreigner and has no idea what the actual rents are in philippines. Again I could get a 1 bedroom condo for 14K in SMDC Mezza 2 towers that has swimming pool, sky lounge etc.

prior pandemic, the 1BR units like yours in One Uptown rents for 30K(simple but fully furnished) to 40K (nicely interior designed). after pandemic, lessors offer 25K but still not a lot of takers because most locals work from home already and the expat employees are still not that many like in 2019.

Could you explain how those scooters you seemingly just walk up and use in some of your videos work? are you renting them,?if so how does that arrangement work? what is the average price for a 1 bedroom and does the price vary from floor to floor? for instance is it more expensive the higher you go? Is one uptown the name of your tower or the name of the area you live in? I am a retired American air force veteran considering a move to the Philippines. I once used to fly C-141 military transports into Clark Air Base for the USAF. before Mount Pinatubo blew its top and covered the place in ash. Can a condo be purchased in the neighborhood of 100,000 pesos or are they all a 1,000,000 pesos or more to buy? Could you also share an email address with me?

As an American expat living in Metro Manila and having the misfortune of renting in one of these high rise condo buildings let me tell you how it really is. Ok 40 sq mtrs is about 400 sq ft. I don’t believe we have 1 bedroom apartments in the USA that are anywhere near that small, most are 900-1,000 sq ft. I lived in one for 8 months and grew to hate it very quickly. With the Covid lockdown it was like living in a Jail Cell. It’s terribly claustrophobic. I moved out and rented a 94 sq mtr house, much larger than I needed but at 40% less than the Condo. Ok, rent a Condo for a month while you find a nicer larger place, any longer and the temptation to jump starts to seem like a reasonable solution. Of course I’m joking but not by much.

I lived in Makati 2020. 1 year lease on an upscale condo. My monthly bills were rent, globe wifi, electric and water.
I noticed all the Filipino locals didn’t live in Makati, only worked and left usually around 8pm nightly when the malls and businesses closed. They live in shared boarding houses and apartments in nearby cheaper cities and commute in jeepneys and MRT/LRT.
The only time I spent in Makati was asleep in my condo, grocery shopping and eating in restaurants.
Most of my day I “hung out” in the neighboring cities where the Filipinos lived.
My advice is rent month to month until you get involved in a relationship then most likely that girl will want to transfer to her province unless she is in the city working . That’s why you see many foreigners living in provinces on various islands….
Reason for this is many Filipino girls(not all but most) are stubborn and will only want to live in the province with her family….that’s the mindset.
So if her family lives in Bohol, Leyte, Samar, Panay, Mindanao…..guess what!!!!! That’s where you will have to live or you will have to end the relationship. Hahahaha.
Don’t invest to much in Metro Manila….long term condo contracts etc…….

The middle amd low class working class in makati are mostly from other provinces and it’s true that they are renting in a boarding house. How can they rent or buy a condo with their salary. Geez Mergim, you're really enticing me to think about an early retirement and get on a jet plane and be on a hunt for a condo in Uptown and have coffee with you every so often. I'm digging, no, actually envious, of you're lifestyle 😎!

I love to watch your channel. I am missing the Philippines since moving here in Chicago as a nurse. Your everyday vlogs are truthfully for someone trying to make a day to day living in the Philippines. Let us help him expand his channel. He is promoting the underrepresented Philippines. All your vlogs are vey informative and truthful. God bless and "Mabuhay".

visit and chill at either of the Grand Hyatt Lounge, Peak , Cellar or Florentine. It's there in BGC, near your condo.

You've mentioned the corporate rentals. You can have more if you searched for real owners who will rent you their unit. You'll will get more for your money like parking included. You should also asked about the rent to own option where you would add a little bit more then you will own the unit eventually.

In our condo I was able to tap into the secret channel to the CCTV cameras where I can see who;s coming and going from the main entrance.

@@setyourhandle88 They usually have ads in the newspaper(not all newspapers) ask around what is the best newspaper to buy to find rental properties. You could also ask around and talk to people who live in the condos usually they know something. if you try to search you will usually find a lead.

Be honest and sincere and you will be rewarded. About the rent to own, just talk to an agent they are usually found in the malls
