      The special registers defined by each manufacturer have different meanings, so you need to find your manufacturer.

    Where can I find the manual with the 485 protocol for this VFD? It looks similar to the VFD I have not it's written horribly so I'm just a bit stuck. Cheers

      If you buy a VFD from the ATO, then you can obtain the manual from us.If it's another brand, our manual doesn't seem to be of any use to you.

      When you know what an analog quantity is and what a digital quantity is, you will know it.

      @@chickenz4604 Each has various advantages. RS485 (Modbus RTU protocol) is more suitable for centralized control or remote control. Many automated control systems use this control method.

    how 0F A0 = 40 which converter you used?? if dec to hex 40 = 28

      0FA0 Hex=4000, you can regard it as 40.00Hz

    I'm newbie in Modbus. I don't know at 5:17s, you receive response data frame is 00 14, why is it 2.0 ( not 20) ?

      The hexadecimal system is used here, 0014 (hexadecimal)=20 (decimal).

      @@tramtran5562 Under normal circumstances, the returned data can only be used after conversion, whether it is hexadecimal conversion or magnification conversion, as long as they are related, we can use it. Assuming that 0.1A is used as a unit (or accuracy), then 2.0A is equivalent to 20 units, which is 0014 Hex.

      P3.09 is just "Communication configuration", why do you want to convert it to hexadecimal? Are you using ATO brand VFD?

      Thanks for the reply. I see it's just for setup, but I had to give you an example to help you understand my question. The registers are described in this format in the user manual. I want to receive information about current, voltage, ask about the type of error, etc. How can I convert the registers set in this format ("P3.09" only for example) to hexadecimal numbers so that I can communicate with RS 485?
      Now I'm researching to choose which device to buy.

      @@user-wf6nf7iy1h 1. About communication. We don't need to convert P3.09 to hexadecimal. In the parameter expression of P3.09, it has units digit, tens digit, and hundreds digit. Each different decimal number represents a different meaning, such as P3. 09=163, its corresponding meaning is "Modbus RTU protocol, 1-8-1 without parity format, 9600bps". Different data have different meanings. We only need to correspond these communication data with the control terminal to communicate. These are common practices.
      2. Information about reading or writing. Our user manual will show the special storage area inside the ATO VFD, we only need to read the data in the storage area or write the data to complete what you want. However, this part of data reading and writing are all in hexadecimal (machine language).
