Tom, thanks for this informative video. I just acquired a very clean '01 CRV RD1 that I'm going to drop. This video made me confident in doing so especially because you have had experiences doing it with the parts you mentioned. Great advice. It may take me a bit longer now because of the additional parts I didn't consider, but I want to enjoy riding my CRV without the hassle or worry of something going wrong while driving.
Great info and straight forward 👍- agreed 100% on the rear toe arm choice, do NOT go with any eBay ones I learned the hard way and went with cheap eBay EK/Integra ones and they did not adjust fully enough for proper alignment, since then I have went with the silver Truhart toe arms and I am on stock height and from there it was easy adjustment with plenty extension play, also did not know you were located in IA! Would love to see your Rd1’s in person 😍 be careful on the no front license plate and rear license plate frame they will definitely get you for that here
Ive personally had yonaka coilovers for over 6 years looking to change it up. The fortune autos are a little out of budget so im looking at the bc racing or the silvers neomax (leaning silvers). Other brands that I recently found that intrest me are the ktuned k1 or the gecko racing g street. Great information! Thanks for going in depth!
It will rub from time to time specially if there's four people in the car or I'm hitting a really big bump I'll get a slight rub I could easily fix it by adjusting the camber in but then I would wear the tires more quickly so a rub here and there doesn't bother me too much.
I have a question my CRV first GEN I bought it lowered with coil overs on it. I want to make it back to stock house or put a lift on it since it’s lowered to bring it to stock. Do I just take the call overs off and put the stock stuff back on or am I going to be changing a whole bunch of things under there
That's a hard one to answer without seeing it or knowing more information on the vehicle! That all depends what you have on your suspension, if it's all OEM you should be able to put the OEM struts and springs back on get an alignment and be good to go but, if you have other things it could involve more.
I am having issues with not being able to fully correct my front camber with the eBay upper control arm. So your saying that with the truhart front upper control arm you are able to fully correct the camber in the front tires?
Yeah I did forget to mention that I never had too much trouble or new too many people that had too much trouble with it being lowered and axles I did mention it in my lifted video had a lot more axle issues being lifted.
Ek suspension and -10 camber gets you as low as you want, EG struts also work
So I’m running the ek struts in the front crv rear struts with the ek springs, will the ek coilovers fit in the rear for the first gen’s?

How did you like the yonaka coil overs?
Very informative video. I'll check some of the suggestions you mentioned.
Have you had any issues with lowering the front more? Like wheels rubbing/hitting the top of wheel well?

Finally I found you
Senkei 555 make excellent ball joints and tie rods. You can get them through Napa auto parts under Altrom brand.
Awesome man thanks for the info it's always good to see what other people have tested and actually put to use!
Love the RPF1's what are the wheel and tire specs?
Hey thank you if you check out a few videos below this one I actually have a whole video dedicated to that.

Great video
How does the rd1 ride on 12kg front strut and 6 kg back?
I honestly can't remember the exact kg my setup was I would have to go back and look.

I think I talked to you on my Instagram page or Facebook page if I didn't message me there and let me know what's going on a little bit more.
Forgot to mention axles
Yeah I did forget to mention that I never had too much trouble or new too many people that had too much trouble with it being lowered and axles I did mention it in my lifted video had a lot more axle issues being lifted.
