- Molecular weight is an important for polymers. Since polymer processing typically produces a distribution of different chain lengths, both short and long, we need a tool that calculates the average molecular weight. We can do this based on number average or weight average. Degree of polymerization can then be calculated to determine the number of mer units along the polymer chain based on average molecular weight (number or weight averaged).
By far the clearest explanation I've come across so far.
Thank you for the clear explanation! I've been guessing which numbers to be computed with which, but now it's clear as day!
awesome... really good.
Can you explain how the molecular weight of polymer affects its weight percentage?
Sir,The molecular weight of the last polymer is 254 { 16 Carbons,3 Oxygens & 14 hydrogens)
how do you get 16 carbons and 14 hydrogens?
